      You can try it without the coconut, but it won't be the same cake in my opinion. The coconut is a big part of it. But feel free to experiment!

    I'm more of a cake mix and can of coke baker at this point. This is waaay too much trouble for me! Looks good though...I may make the sauce and dump it on my coke cake!

      🤣 Actually, that sounds like a good idea. And that can of coke and cake mix ‘recipe’ is the best, right? Sprite and vanilla or lemon cake is so good.

    Why evaporated milk? Why not whole milk?

    • @quickandeasybaking
      @quickandeasybaking  Год назад +3

      Evaporated milk is just the classic way to make tornado cake. It’s a bit thicker, has more fat and less water content than milk does.

      @@quickandeasybaking Have you ever tried it with milk? The thing is I can't stand the smell of evaporated milk. Can I use whole milk? Will it ruin the cake? Thanks

    • @quickandeasybaking
      @quickandeasybaking  Год назад +1

      Oh yeah I can understand that. I haven’t tried it with regular milk. I did see some tutorials online that show how to make regular milk into evaporated milk. It’s essentially just cooking it down a little but I don’t know if you’d get the same smell that way. I don’t know that it would ruin the cake to use regular milk but it might not be quite as moist. It might be worth a try though. Maybe add a tablespoon of vegetable oil to help that.
