    I seem to be able to make the upright swing work with the shorter clubs. It just does not seem right to take the hands and the butt of the club well above the plane with the driver. Perhaps you would hit one that way with the big stick and show how it works.

      Understood- if you allow yourself to swing the Driver on the flatter plane it’s intended to be, the forearms will roll more and less wrist cock.
      Remember - the coiling of the shoulders is a constant in the golf swing but the fact that the clubs are different lengths gives you a “spectrum” of swing planes.
      Wedge swings are therefore short, upright and wristy without much forearm rotation.
      Driver swings are longer,flatter, non- wristy with increased forearm rotation.
