I can no longer eat with my parents or barely tolerate my mom talking because of the way she pronounces certain consonants. If there is some kind of treatment - I. NEED. IT.
Remember that life goes ups and downs. When down your mood goes down so go somewhere safe. Downs again tired cranky just go back to your room or exit an area. But when there is the UP then you'll start to feel better again. Get a music device or something during an DOWN then you'll wait till you feel ready to go out then back to DOWN to avoid so that you are always protected
i'm suffering of severe misophonia and life home is being really complicated because of it.I'll be glad to volunteer to research program as an experiment subject .
I'm not saying that this is a scam but the site has been up since 2016 and there isn't a single review anywhere and I cannot believe that such a life changing treatment wouldn't be talked about anywhere.
Is it uncommon for misophonia to develop at a young age? I remember dealing with it since kindergarten, but the onset ages on the graphs didn't go below 10
I was already pretty pissed with my mom and then she started smacking her lips and crunching on something, i always tell her to stop so i dont flip out and swear but i did today... now im crying and looking for help
My 15 year old son has had severe (undiagnosed) Misophonia since early childhood. He’s also on the ASD spectrum, and also has unilateral microtia/atresia. We’ve never been sure if the misophonia was due to Microtia, ASD, or something else entirely. I’ve talked to others with Microtia/atresia and they have no issues with misophonia, so leaning more in the direction of ASD.
Yeah it’s hard. I always have to physically hurt myself to keep me from lashing out as much. Not really bad but like digging my nails into my palm, pressing/tugging on my ear, or gritting my teeth. I think rn the only “treatments” are to have background noise or avoid it altogether.
@@caitlinmoran639 same for me ,plus i really feel to beat the sh## out of the responsible for the molesting noise, and often i end up crashing stuff (i broke my laptop once). The really effective method to avoid this anger tide so far is ,one,to avoid it altogether by isolate myself ,two,as you say ,constantly mitigate/block those agressions with a white noise barrier.I really hope one day they'll find an effective cure because it's ruining my life.
I've tried ear plugs and reduced sound if you can't hear what someone's saying then plop them out and listen until ready to go along with protection from sound!
I can‘t believe, I can‘t imagine that there is any treatment that can cure Misophonia. I bought your book years ago. But I don‘t think that there will be anything for help as long as one can make a surgery on the brain to get it right
Misophonia develops through brain plasticity. It is not a brain defect. It is the "adaptive" power of a normal brain. Because of this, the brain can change and misophonia severity can greatly decrease. But the normal, natural response to triggers causes misophonia to get worse. This treatment allows a person to develop the ability to respond is a way that gradually reduces misophonia severity.
Wow! Til I read the other similar experiences thought I was just a quick tempered beeotch! If published studies document the neuroplasticity changes after 6 months of meditation, shrinking anxiety center in brain then it + practicing mindfulness should get good results. Hearing there’s no treatment sounds suspiciously like- there’s no pill to sell you...yet
Practicing mindfulness will not develop the neurological connections to relax quickly on demand. This is only accomplished with Progressive Muscle Relaxation Training. See the free app, Misophonia Muscle Relaxation (training) for iOS and Android.

There really is treatment. That is why I made this video - to let people know that there is treatment for misophonia.

GOD BLESS YOU! Someone who gets it! This gives me such GREAT HOPE!

Am I the only one who keeps hearing the trigger sounds in my head even if the sound is gone?
This is a common problem. Engage your mind in though about things you can see and describe. Describe 5 different items in your view. It helps.
@@tomdozier thanks!
It happens to me a lot
How can this syndrom be treated??

9-10 is the median age of onset. Onset earlier is therefore very common.
@@tomdozier That's good to know, thank you!
I got it since I am a small kid, as long as I can think
The research I have indicates that age 10 is the average age for it to develop, but it can absolutely develop at early ages.
I got it a few months ago (at the age of nineteen).
Amen! Looking forward to our first treatment next week
Can't thank uh enough just by knowing that their is treatment for misophonia

I can’t spend as much time with my mom anymore. I told her it bothered me and she got mad. So I just stay away now.
Same.

is it the same treatment as the prev video?
We don't know the order of the videos that you view, so we cannot answer your question.
@@dontknow3949 Yes, but this is a short video. This describes the treatment, and is an hour long. ruclips.net/video/jpSQf6IN-WU/видео.html
Can you put up a general treatment video for everyone?
Did you find any cure?
I can’t even study

I don't like how this video was posted on my birthday, and I have misophonia.
I would have hoped that you would consider this video a birthday present. There is treatment for misophonia. That is good news if you have misophonia.
Thank you for this video!! :)

Subtitle please?
What I say is fluff about the slides. The valuable information is all in the slides.
I can not stand many voices and sounds specially bom bom bom like stomping kids, loud music 😠😠😠😠 makes me mad
Same here, especially cannot stand children screaming and crying.
Talk to your doctor about ups and down
But your gravelly sound of your voice drives me crazy too!
Thank you for that comment.😁 I agree

You should release a book about your experience treatment misophonia, I would definitely buy it.
I wrote Understanding and Overcoming Misophonia (1st and 2nd editions). I need to release a 3rd edition with much more information on treatment.
Interesting .I developed it around 8 to 10 yrs..my dad didn't like us chewing gum or apples. They're my triggers. I also have misokenisia
