I have the 6 string version from the early 2000s. I want this 7 string AX so bad. And you make it sound so good and tempting for me to just drop the money to buy it.
Hi Why you choose cold sweat? Got the same Ibanez... Searchin' for the right pickups...not so many videos on youtube with this guitar. Thank you for an answer
Sorry I checked the comment now, youtube didn't alarm me.. About the Cold Sweat, I got it because it was super cheap on the aftermarket(about 20 bucks, crazy cheap) Honestly even when I bought it, I was not a huge fan of cold sweat and It has not changed since then. Not a bad pickup at all, but it's just too thin sounding for me(well, tight but I prefer thick, richer lower mid) and the harsh upper mid of ceramic magnet is not my type. I used to like ceramic for metal but I prefer A5 pickups more nowadays. And for neck pickup, I saw many good review for CS neck but It's just not giving me warmth that I expect from neck pickup.. It kinda feels like bridge pickup due to scooped mid with tons of highs. Guitar sounded muddy on stock pickup(V77 I guess?), so I assumed that maybe the mahogany body was the reason for being muddy, like Gibson. I expected CS to cut out some mud and give me more balanced tone, but after changing stock pickups into CS, I learned that the guitar itself is not dark sounding and the stock pickup was the problem on the muddy sound. I think bold-on maple neck with mahogany body gives you quite good balance on tone, so It might be your taste on choosing the pickup. Even though I've written why I don't like CS above, I still think the pickup is nice and others could like them. It's Bare Knuckle pickups after all :D For me, I am thinking of changing CS into Alnico Nailbomb bridge and other neck pickup later, cause that's my favorite bridge pickup I've tried so far. Hope this helps you and good luck on your pickup journey!
Sounds awesome. That solo is savage
Thanks! I was wearing my hendrix t-shirts on the vid btw :D

Thanks! Still in love with this guitar :) You might be able to find one easily from reverb or ebay, they are usually cheap.
@@me1945me there's on on Reverb. But it's pretty beat up. And I don't trust used GC gear lol
@@Triforce1985 Yeah It seems like most of them are not in good condition ;) Hope you find a good one🎸
