I can't believe how wonderful a job Troy Baker did in this role. It really sounds like Indy.
I mean he is one of the best voice actors of all time
I keep getting distracted trying to pick out Troy in the dialogue lol, it literally sounds exactly like Harrison!
If I I didn’t know it was Troy I 10000% would not be able to tell it was him, which is a pretty damn good job considering I think Troy has a pretty recognizable voice.
@@browut644 tbh after knowing that he did the role, whenever I hear Indy speaks in-game I recognize the signature voice of Troy more and more
you can still kind of recognize his signature voice but it's not to the same degree as when he does his kanji or snow voice.
I hope this game performs well financially. If indy becomes a running franchise for machinegames the industry may still have hope
I Would love to see them re-make Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis in the same style as the Great Circle
The reception has been really good. I'm shilling this game to everyone, plus you can get 1 month of game pass ultimate and play the main story in that time easily.
This is an incredible game. It's the most fun that I have had in a game in a long time, honestly. The gameplay loop, level design, combat, story and performances are top notch.
couldn't agree more. When I heard it was Bethesda I really wasn't sure I'd give it a try, but couldn't help myself....its Indy after all. But as janky as the gameplay can be at times, the story, discovery, and Troy Baker's performance made it worth every minute.
Serious question, but how is this game getting so much praise?
I grew up with Indy, I played Emperors Tomb and Lego games to death, I like me immersive sim games and stealth is something I can enjoy too, but man, this game is just a bore fest to me.
When I think Indy, I don't have stealth game in mind.
@@carny15the thing is you don’t have to play it like a stealth game
@@carny15I like the exploration & solving things, that already makes an indy game for me.
Yeah. I had no idea what to expect from this game, but had pretty good hopes with it being MachineGames. And man am I loving it. I've got ~6 hours playtime and I'm still in the first level/zone (they are surprisingly large). Just exploring everywhere, frequently finding things like side quests that are genuinely fun, puzzles, collectables, photo spots etc etc. The level design is fantastic, so much fun to explore and navigate, combat is fun and satisfying (gotta love that punch sound effect). And good lord they just nailed the Indiana Jones look, feel, sound, writing etc. And Troy did a shockingly good job with his VA IMO.
One thing that I was really impressed with is just how much effort they put into recreating the feel of the original movies. Everything, from the music to the sound effects feels like it comes from Spielberg’s original films. Troy Baker sounds like young Harrison Ford, the punches sound like they do in the movies, even his office and classroom at the Marshall College look like they do in the movies. It really is an incredible recreation. They nailed Indy’s “scrappy” fighting style, his mannerisms, his voice inflections, everything. As a huge fan of the movies I’m just in awe. Even the guy they got to play Marcus Brody sounds like Marcus from the movies. To me if you’re gonna make a game based on an already established film series like this, and especially one as beloved as Indiana Jones, then this is how it should be done imo. You can really tell a lot of time and dedication went into making it feel authentic.
This is the first time that Troy Baker truly impressed me. Don't take me wrong, he's always been a talented VA, but I always 'recognize his voice' in any game he plays, just like Laura Bailey, Nolan North, and a few others. But his Indiana Jones/Harrison Ford is really good. It doesn't sound like his 'usual' performance.
What about joker
I was kinda baffled when I heard that he was replacing Mark Hamill in Arkham Origins, but I was impressed by how well he filled that role.
@@MrMagicianJr Ah yeah you're right. I forgot about that! I still think of Mark Hamill when I think of the Joker, but yes Troy does a great impression of him too!
Well ur talking about the dude who's played Joel so why exactly is that a surprise ???
@@MrMagicianJr that's the neat part, he didn't just voice the joker, he also voiced two face, tim drake/robin and jason todd across the arkham series.
I want Retro Replay to comeback. Miss nolan and Troy moments
Unfortunately they fell apart due to creative differences
Dude I second that
Bullshit@@thegamingcook785
Yeah because Troy is weak minded but bandit who'll bend over & take it. While Nolan is grown man with common sense
RIP Tony Todd.
Thanks for the spoiler 🙄
@@GeneralRaam-0 he’s talking about the real person that plays that character… rest in peace Tony
@@GeneralRaam-0 - No spoiler, sadly Tony Todd died for real a month ago.
Man… and Tony Todd was one of my favorite actors, it’s quite a bummer that he had to go…
Rest In Peace, Tony 😔
@@yazzamx6380damn, rest in peace I hope his family does well
I met Tony a few years back on a film set in Buffalo NY. What a wonderful human being he was. Truly Larger than life. Rest in Peace
Troy Baker's voice is a bless 🙌
Troy did a fantastic job. It sad that Tony Todd is no longer with us (RIP). He was the quintessential "bad guy" . I've waited a long, long time for a true-to-form game adaptation of this franchise and this does not disappoint!
Yeah Tony Todd sure were talented. Some good ones like him or Lance Reddick sure leave too early. But Tony had some good roles in the end. I heard he is gonna be in next Final Destination
Nolan North plays Nathan Drake.
So, of course, Troy Baker plays Indiana.
2 legends both seeking for treasure
and a drake brother. the guy is blessed.
@@DarthLordRaven ong
Well u know who all Troy has played right ? He's literally been Batman Joel Rhys etc
@hsd287 Nathan's brother as well
Congratulations to everyone who worked on it, loving it so far
I felt like I was walking through an actual real life museum in the beginning, I literally spent a good 30 minutes looking at everything lol. The attention to detail by Machine Games is insane.
Brother, for real. I was amazed at all the signs and descriptions in the exhibits at the college. Knew from that moment that this was gonna be quite the experience.
This is so impressive , if i hadnt allready known it was Troy, he could easily have passed as Harrison Ford. And the way they did the opening is so amazing its exactly like from the original first movie, so well done!
Troy baker did such an amazing job now I have two wonderful performances to look back on as him playing Joel and now Indiana Jones well done to an awesome VA
Troy Baker is a voice acting legend. I got to meet him a few weeks ago. lol
Stepping into the Sistine Chapel was pretty gnarly. The art all over the Vatican. I did Google Lens searches and it is all the real thing. It blows my mind how much attention to detail there is.
When I was typing attention to detail, Troy mentions "attention to detail."
Lol.
Both Hamill and Baker does excellent Harrison Ford impressions. I wonder if Harrison Ford would make a great Joker impression?
I'm told that the game is only like 12 hrs long, but I've played for over 50hrs so far and i'm only about half way through the game, it is truly amazing, The fighting feels like an Indiana Jones movie, The location's feel massive, with lot's to explore, load's of diverse puzzles to solve, and a ton of secrets and side quests. I would love to 100% it on my first playthrough, but i'm pretty sure I've already missed too many note's and secrets too 100% it the first time
I used to work with Troy when he lived here in Dallas. He's always had the "larger than life" personality. Not surprised to see his success.
I’m a huge Indians Jones fan but…Troy Baker is the real legend.
It makes me so happy that this franchise has this much excitement again. This game feels like an actual Next-Gen game imo considering the points Troy brings up.
This game truly nails the vibes of the movies and the Dishonored-esque level design but on a scale befitting this gen is really refreshing. Exploration feels rewarding and that's one of the most important things for a game LITERALLY about an explorer. Glad they didn't go the Uncharted route and we got a fresh and fun experience. Hats off to all the devs who made it happen, just make sure to pick it up as you slide under that stone door that's about to shut.
You comparing it to Dishonored is the number one reason why I am now interested in playing this game.
@@HeathsHarleyQuinn yeah that’s the vibe they went for.
Well done Troy on your involvement on this, deserve a gaming\acting award big time.
One of my favorite voice actors playing such an iconic character
Thanks for the amazing voice acting Troy! I too prefer stealth in my gameplays, but I also mix it up when needed, but this game is definetely a stealth based game early on and before all hell breaks loose later in the game. The one sequence I'm disappointed with and believe should not have even been in the game and serves as no purpose, is the hallucinating sequence that wastes my time, immersion and bores me to death for around 15 minutes, but other than that it's a solid and entertaining journey. And lastly,... A 10 second display of your Harrison Ford voice in this video would have been extremely welcome and appreciated. I hope you'll be back again in a sequel. Take care and Merry Christmas! 👍🤠👍
At first I thought the voice of Joel from The last of us was Troy Baker's original voice, then I realized it wasn't his natural voice at all. Now he ended up sounding like Harrison Ford in this game. Unbelievably, the man is very talented and an excellent actor in addition to his fantastic voice capabilities.
Well yes Joel is supposed to be an old Texan douchebag kinda Troy had to be as gruff to sound like him and he recorded Joels voice in his 30s
Great voice actor/actor and two great characters
Having Tony Todd as a villain is genius
His arc is very good.
Watching behind-the-scenes of stuff in motion capture is like watching a theatre performance (with less flattering costumes).
Troy Baker plays indy so well and the games is awesome.
Had to look it up, but he indeed also did Pagan Min in Far Cry 4. What an actor.
I am having so much fun with this game. It looks amazing, and Troys performance is great.
I haven't always been the biggest fan of Troy Baker and how he seems like he has been in everything. That said, I am impressed by his turn as Indiana Jones. When Indy speaks I don't hear Troy baker, I hear Indy and a pretty close resemblance to Harrison Ford.
Insanely good job by Troy, game looks excellent excited to play it when I get time soon.
I also downloaded it yest and will play it start to finish ASAP already loving the way Indys back appears in the homescreen wherever u left the game last they have done a great job 👍🏻
You did a fantastic job buddy.congratulations on a great game.
The game is phenomenal. The combat is well done, the exploration/puzzle elements are satisfying, the one-liners are entertaining, and Troy’s acting was great. He really nailed the 80s Indy voice. Well done all around!
Not just the voice but I think he nailed the physicality/mannerisms of Harrison Ford
Troy sounds more like 80's Indiana Jones than Harrison Ford sounds nowadays. While I would love to hear Harrison doing this game(although I dont think he was very interested), truth is that it is more believable this way, especially playing right after watching Raiders. Amazing job.
Best video game actor hands down!!!! Him and Nolan North!!!! Hands down. 😊
Not only did he do a perfect job with the voice but even with some subtle movements.
This is the most fun I have ever had playing a game since Machine Games's 2016 Wolfenstein or mayyyybe 2017's Prey. Either way its been years since I have played a game this polished and engrossing.
ngl i cant hear anything BUT Baki Hanma and to find out Troy is the VA for Indy in the game?! Holy shit i knew he was awesome but wow!
Well now we know Troy can Voice Harrison Ford, when are we getting a Blade Runner Game 😅
There is actually one coming but its more of a detective game or something?
Troy mentions having a compendium of images from the photos you take in game. I can’t find it in game but maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. Is there an in game photo gallery??
What an amazing video. Awesome job
Troy is a fantastic voice actor... one of the best in the business. I have yet to play this game... been aware of it for over a year. Life is busy! Now that I've had a chance to watch some cut scenes and game play on YT... I've decided to buy this game. The last game system I purchased was the PS4 in 2013, so I'll have to upgrade to 5, obviously. This game is the one that makes me go to the next generation system. That's says a lot, but then I've been an Indiana Jones fan since 1981.
He did a great job
Loving it so far. Great FPS animatioons, throwing items in your suitcase was a nice touch. A real adventure game.
He's so versatile ! Remember his Hamill Joker too !?
Great Performance Troy 👍
I thought Harrison gave permission to the game developers to use his voice as AI 😮 No idea it was another actor! How great of a job he did!
I hope Troy Baker will become more popular and has a chance to act as a successor of Indiana Jones in the future.
Enviable talent, remarkable knowledge, wisdom, respect for Indiana lore, what a dude. I will say, the game MISSED one opportunity, like last crusade featured, crayon rubbings over photos any day.
Troy Baker did the most incredible voice substitute for an actor I've ever seen, he sounded exactly like Harrison Ford.
It’s honestly an amazing game haven’t enjoyed something this much in a long time! ❤
Troy Baker did an AMAZING job on this game. I finished it, great game. Btw, Todd is correct, Troy Baker deserve to win the TGA award.. Maybe next time.
Holy cow i that Harrison Ford was voicing this game 😂😂😂😂😂 so now i know it was Troy Baker did the voice
Well done Roy & everyone who put this classic together luv it
Rest in Peace Tony Todd
Can’t wait to play this game. My hat is off to Mr. Baker for his performance. I’m blown away by how damn accurate his Indy is. And, of course, rest in peace Tony Todd. ❤
Love the game and it is my top 3 of this year, great voice acting and I hope it will do great
16:30 That isn't a waffle iron it is a military field ration tray for having a hot meal while away from base. You have your food closed up in it then when lunch time rolls around you stick it over the fire for a few minutes to heat it up and you have a hot meal.
RIP Tony Todd
You did such an excellent job. Thank you
Awesome job Troy, award winning stuff. Incredible game
More Indiana Jones video game adventures with Mr. Baker!
you sound just like ford great job man
Troy NAILED it!!!
Well I don't know about you but I'm re-watching Raiders Of The Last Ark before playing this gem! ;)
@ 1:37 "I love this line here."
*Line delivered in parseltongue-ish latin*
Visible confusion.
The game is absolutely phenomenal.
I honestly thought it was Harrison Ford agreeing to do a voiceover.
This is my personal game of the year!
Troy Baker is an awesome dude
You did an amazing job Troy
This game actually being good came really unexpected.
The game has a lot of occult symbolism and architecture the game looks amazing
Such a wonderful game
Ive never seen one of these movies. and PLayed this. Beat it. and Loved it. Now Im going to watch the movies lol
Excited for this to come to playstation love some dynamic improvisational stealth gameplay
If possible I think it'd be cool in the future to have Harrison Ford react to the game, considering at least as far as I know Indiana Jones is his favorite character that he's acted.
Not to be Mr negative, but Harrison Ford is 82 years old. He doesn’t have much of a future left.
@@michaelfrazier3148 Yeah i know which is why i think it'd be cool to see his reaction to the game before he passes.
@@CAPEDCRUSADER3900 I do agree
I'd love to see Troy Baker I'm costume doing some live action scenes.
the puzzles are EASY but games quite enjoyable and looks great too
I know a lot of people won't agree with me, but I am very disappointed that there is no option to play fully in 3rd person. I have never been a fan of the first person point of view, I also am not a fan of the "over-the-shoulder" point of view. Despite the feel of the game play, I never play a character on a computer game pretending that I am that character. I really enjoyed replaying Indiana Jones and The Emperors Tomb this year. I probably haven't played that game in 18 or 19 years . I had a big feeling of nostalgia about that game, and it lived up to my expectations. It is the perfect example of what I was hoping for from this new game. All this said however, I am saving up money so as to try out this game. I hope I am proven wrong, and that Ill love this game despite the limited pov options.
Dude in the thumbnail looking like tommy angelo
He crushed it
It’s a great game, try it if you haven’t
How is this his first reactions? He's literally the voice actor. It's HIM. how can he "first reaction" to something he literally already did?!
I FEEL LIKE IM TAKING CRAZY PILLS.
KANJI TATSUMI❤☠️💪⚘️⚡️
Yosuke: We're re-enacting the birth of Venus?
Kanji: "I'm ready to be born damnit!"😂😂😂
7:59 texture's a little rough on that door relief decoration. Otherwise they did a meticulous job on this game!
Nolan is going to backflip about this for years lol .
Friendships are more important then anything...and i think you and Nolan had a really good one. I hate that something came between you guys
I want to see Harrison Ford react to it as well😁
What?! I’ve been playing for a day now and I didn’t even know I can break those small lockboxes. I’ve been missing a lot of loots and cash
I think he did good. But I don't think it's AMAZING like most people are saying. You can definitely hear Troy a lot during the game.
Im so pissed microsoft dropped this so late in the year. Easily a game of the year contender and troy deserved best performance nom as well
Naughty Dog should do another Last of Us 2 remake remake. With Troy voicing every character. I wouldn't play it but it would be hilarious
I had no idea I thought it was Ford himself lol
