  • Jeff Durbin was with Apologia Church on our final trip before planting a church in Kauai. Our team was meeting up with some local Evangelists we connected with when we saw four Mormon missionaries. Jeff and Luke walked up to them.
    This is what happened.

      Tim Bobby JESUS is GOD revealed to humanity in flesh form. JESUS is not created. JESUS is not another god among many gods who earned the reward of a planet to own. JESUS is not a brother/ spiritual offspring of a heavenly mother and HE is not brothers with any angel ...namely satan. JESUS is the way, the truth, and the life. HE and HE alone is who is needed to enter Heaven. The truth is quite simple, so much so that a little child can understand if they humbly want to know how to be saved.

      The understanding of the GOD head to anyone who is not born again isn't going to make sense. This truth is revealed by the HOLY SPIRIT, the 3rd person( not 3rd god) of the "triune" GOD head. 1 GOD in 3 persons. You can't understand this without GOD opening this up to you. Read the New Testament and you will see JESUS speaking of this truth. If you really want to know the truth HE will not withhold it from you.

My precious sister in law just died attending the LDS Church, but my prayer was that she remembered the Christ she had once accepted in younger days. She leaves behind a large Mormon family, whom I love and pray for. From a human standpoint, I don't see how they could leave, but God can do all things, thank you for your validation!

      Jon Moon's Western NY outdoor adventures I'm really glad you found your way out of Mormonism. I too meet with the missionaries in my area much like Jeff in this video only I spread out the information I give them over as many meetings as I can in order to build more of a relationship with them. I believe that this method will leave a more lasting imprint on them. I understand how Jeff needs to get as much across to them as possible because he likely will only see them once.
      I'd like any advice you might have for how I can make them understand the gospel of grace from your point of view as a former Mormon. I've studied Mormonism for several years and watched countless videos on RUclips of former Mormons giving their testimony on how they came out of the church. I'd love to hear yours as well. if you will reply to this comment I'll send you my email address and cell phone number. I love to talk to you about how you came to realize Mormonism was a false religion. also I would love to be a resource for you if you ever have questions about Christian doctrine.

      If you do your research with an open mind, you will realize that the LDS church is a false church. Christ's teaching did not debunk anti-mormonism. Did Jesus Christ ever say that God lived on the planet Kolob? "Our Father who art on Kolob, hallowed be thy name."

    • @norbertmelcher4541
      @norbertmelcher4541 7 лет назад

      Faye Lewis really? Christ's teachings did not debunk anti Mormonism?
      While this is your lucky day,because today you will have the opportunity to PROVE to all our readers your above APSE DIXIT logical fallacy.
      I challenge you that " the teachings of Christ do not debunk anti Mormonism ", by debunking the following syllogism.
      Archaeological evidences proved that the Book of Mormon is an ancient record that was written several thousands years ago.
      Thus, all those several dozen pieces of archaeological evidences also prove that Joseph Smith did not " write" the Book of Mormon, and that the Book of Mormon is not "19th century fiction".
      Which also proves that either God or Satan is the author of the Book of Mormon.
      If Satan is the author of the Book of Mormon,Joseph Smith was a false prophet, and the LDS Church is a false church.
      On the other hand, IF Christ is the author of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God, and the LDS Church is indeed God's true Church.
      Having said that, here's a syllogism titled Christ's teachings debunked anti Mormonism.
      1) Christ taught that a kingdom divided cannot stand, and that Satan cannot fight against himself (Mark 3:24-26)
      2) The Book of Mormon exhorts people to follow Jesus, and to keep the commandments of the Father (2 Nephi 31:10)
      3) the content of the Book of Mormon proves that Christ is its author
      The only way for anti Mormons to debunk the above syllogism, is the by proving that Satan is the author of the Book of Mormon.
      However, that's an exercise in futility,as it's impossible to prove that Satan inspired a book of scripture that exhorts people to follow Jesus, and to keep the commandments of the Father.
      Now that we've ascertained (by following the teachings of Christ) that the Book of Mormon is indeed God's word, that by default proves that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God, and that the LDS Church is indeed God's true Church.
      Please feel free to explain in DETAIL if major premise, minor premise or the conclusion to the above syllogism is erroneous.
      I'm eagerly awaiting your rebuttal that addresses the above logical argument.

      He must hide it well, spending a good deal of his time talking to misguided "believers" of false religions. His "hate" is so well shrouded that he loves them enough to spend his time trying to minister to them in a kind loving manner. Tim Bobby you seem to be troll posting full of hate and not recognizing a man filled with grace and love. In 15:18 Jesus declares, “If the world2 hates you, you know that it has hated Me3 before it hated you.”4The particular form of the word “if” (ei) assumes something is true. Jesus is saying, “If the world hates you-and it does.”5 There is a certainty in Jesus’ words: “You will be hated! You can count on it!” Jesus then reminds His disciples that the world hated Him first. God bless I hope God restores Faith hope and love back into your life.

      It's literally a life or death issue Tim. If we're wrong, but we're good people (Roman's 3:23, Roman's 6:23) we go to the Terrestrial kingdom. Not amazing, but not so bad either. If, however you do believe in a false religion, and you attempt to work your way to heaven (The REQUIREMENT of baptism for salvation, works to prove your good enough, etc.) you will be under eternal judgement. It's worth spending a little time reading if what you believe is true.

    • @cripsician
      @cripsician 6 лет назад

      Sounds like Tim is the only one with hate in his message. Repent and believe the GOSPEL Tim. Not another gospel(book of mormon) or something that preaches a false Christ. It's either Jesus, and the work He did on the cross or it's Jesus+Tim's obedience to the law+Joseph's prophecy+++++.... ultimately making the cross of Christ as of no value. Do you read the bible? If it's grace then it's grace, not grace plus...
      I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

      Mxborg 23 what sort of argument are you looking for? One place to start would be that there are two totally different understandings of the being of Christ, who he is, and who God is. God is infinite, eternal, and unchanging. As such it can't be said that God was once a man and became what he is (transcended). Second, you can look at the purpose of special revelation. If special revelation is redemptive revelation, then it would end with the fulfillment of redemption. So, you'd be left with trying to justify how the Book of Mormon can be considered scripture. Third, looking at the idea of whether or not the Book of Mormon is consistent with what is known of God from general revelation and from the Bible. You can also look at how various Mormon prophets have had contrary revelations to one another, which reveals an issue of internal consistency and who to believe. Not to mention that the concept of a prophet ended with John the Baptist who, by scripture, was considered the greatest and last of his age before entering the apostolic. So an argument would have to be made against the Bible that prophets still exist.

    • @GojoTheHonoredOne9
      @GojoTheHonoredOne9 6 лет назад +8

      Daniel Valencia If you believe rejection of the Gospel is rejection of the Eucharist, then you are blind to the Scriptures. The catholic Church erred greatly into heresy when they denied that we are saved by Grace through Faith alone, at the Council of Trent, and instead proclaimed that we are saved by Works. Thus Calling the Apostle Paul Anathema, for he proclaimed that we “Maintain that a man is JUSTIFIED by Faith, APART from Works of the Law” (Romans 3:28).
      You are in a false religion and need to repent. Only Christ alone can save you. Not any of your works.

    • @LSDANNY7x
      @LSDANNY7x 6 лет назад

      Kairi. B lol dude you have not put any scientific ability into understanding Divinity. You're talking with someone who has seen the Miracle of the Sun with witnesses. "Whosoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood, has eternal life, says the LORD, and I will raise him up on the last day." This is instituted at the Last Supper, when God says, "Take this, all of you, and eat of it. This is my body." When Jesus Christ (God) says that, He means it. It does not say, 'this bread is my body', nor does it say, 'i am coming in bread'. That Eucharist is the only door to transform you and bring you out of the Created Existence. Faith IS a work in itself; lo, to master holiness, you must master righteousness, in order to master perfection. Jesus told Peter, "Feed my lambs" 3 times. "Faith is dead without works" "Righteousness is as rags without holiness. This is illustrated and layed out in the videos my family put up. The "Origin of God" playlist contains the baby steps into understanding Divinity.

      Tim Bobby,
      God created the universe and is Omnipotent so why is it so hard to believe he can make a donkey speak?
      Translation mistakes? Well thats not broad at all. There are no major doctrines or principles are affected by the discrepancies between Greek text and the resultant English versions of the Bible. For more information go here. bible.org/seriespage/5-transmission
      As for Judas he returned the money. The Jews bought the field in Judas' name, on his behalf. It was with the money that had been given to him for his betrayal of Christ and was the same money he threw back at them. The Jews could not use the money since it was blood money and they bought the field in his name. This is why it says that Judas acquired the field.
      It would be like me giving money to my daughter to buy an apple at the store. It could legitimately be said that I bought the apple since I gave her the money with which to purchase the fruit. Also, she is the one who actually purchased the apple. This idea is found in the Bible. For example, In John 19:1 it says, "Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged Him." But we know that it was not actually Pilate who did the scourging. Rather it was he who handed Jesus' over to the Roman soldiers to be scourged. They carried out his orders.
      Whatever your intentions are in trying to find contradictions I encourage you to continue doing so. That's right. I believe God's Word is completely inerrant and the deeper you dig into The Bible the more clear that'll become to you. I recommend that you read The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel too.

      Tim Bobby, and I see your just trolling around on the comments sections probably with no actual thoughtful arguements. So, I won't waste my time if you're not actually interested in having a respectful and thoughtful discussion. I bet you've heard all of what Jeff Durbin has to say about Mormonism and it's contradictions to the Bible but you don't care. I hope you do one day, your soul depends on it.

    • @1776.We.the.people.
      @1776.We.the.people. 7 лет назад

      There is no discrepancy at all. An angel of the Lord moved the stone and was sitting upon it outside (Matthew 28:2). The two men (Luke 24:4) were angels (John 20:12). Mark 16:5 presents the only potential issue and it isn't the only one at all. If there were two angels in the tomb, then there was at least one. This one was on the right. Therefore, we see that there was one angel outside and two on the inside of the tomb.
      In order for there to be a true contradiction here, Matthew or Mark would have to say there was ONLY one angel. This was, of course, not the case. There were two angels at the tomb of Jesus, and neither account said there was only one. But I'm sure that you could care less about taking this into consideration. These are laughable apparent "contradictions" you bring up. Like I said before, there are no major doctrines or principles are affected by the apparent discrepancies between Greek text and the resultant English versions of the Bible. For more information go here. bible.org/seriespage/5-transmission

Hmmm and of course their are MAJOR doctrinal differences between The Bible and the Book of Mormons, ( i.e. Jesus created Satan and he's not his brother or that there is only one God as opposed to many gods). Will you believe Jesus in the Bible or Joseph Smith who is just a man? By what standard did anybody use to determine that what Joseph Smith said was true? The answer is none. They just simply took his word for it. If at the beginning they had used The Bible people would've realized what a liar Jospeh Smith was because the Bible is the ultimate standard of truth. Isn't it interesting how much archaeological evidence there is to support Biblical events and not to mention that the quantity of New Testament manuscripts is unparalleled in ancient literature. There are over 5,000 Greek manuscripts, about 8,000 Latin manuscripts, and another 1,000 manuscripts in other languages (Syriac, Coptic, etc.). In addition to this extraordinary number, there are tens of thousands of citations of New Testament passages by the early church fathers. In contrast, the typical number of existing manuscript copies for any of the works of the Greek and Latin authors, such as Plato, Aristotle, Caesar, or Tacitus, ranges from one to 20. Do the research, Tim. Your making yourself sound arrogant and ignorant/clueless at the same time before those who know how much historical and archaeological evidence supports The Bible. I also am aware that there is little to none evidence that supports any of the historical events that happened in the Americas like the Book of Mormons claims. The platform of evidence on which Mormonism stands is hollow and weak. Tim, just consider that Joseph Smith lied and do further research. Whatever you believe, if it's not the Jesus Christ of the Bible than you are headed for destruction and are under God's wrath.

      Matthew chapter 27 should bring a little clarity.
      Also, have you ever gotten a card or announcement from a couple that says "We had a baby!" No one says, no the man didn't have a baby, it was just the woman. Everyone understands the inclusive use of the language there to mean the man is also a part of saying "we had a baby" though obviously not in the same way as the woman.
      It was Judas money that bought the field. In a very real way, Judas bought the field.
      Another example would be if you were to donate a million dollars to some charity and they built an orphanage with it. They might say, come look at the orphanage which you built.
      Technically you didn't build it, but technically neither did they, they paid others to build it with the money you gave them.
      But again we all understand the use of language to mean something a bit outside the scope of the literal words.
      That is what i believe is going on in this Judas the Field scenario.
      thanks for your time.

      If you believe the Mormon doctrine, you believe God used to commit sin (one can only imagine what kind) and you also believe that some day people will pray to you and worship you. That's blasphemous beyond belief on both accounts.
