  • recoExtrapolation and New Methods for Population Size Estimation w/ Ali Mirzazadeh, MD, PhD, MPH. Dr. Mirzazadeh will provide real-work examples of bias adjustment for mapping data and extrapolation techniques for PSE data from several countries, including Afghanistan.
Extrapolation is a (statistical) technique aimed at inferring the unknown from the known. For Population Size Estimation (PSE), the extrapolation attempts to generate PSE for unobserved, sub-national, and national areas by relying on size estimates (data) available for some observed cities, districts, or provinces. In this CAPS Town Hall talk, Dr. Mirzazadeh presents new developments in Population Size Estimation methods and provides real-work examples of bias adjustment for mapping data and extrapolation techniques for PSE data from several countries, including Afghanistan.
