- Republican Congressman Chip Roy of Texas has made quite a few headlines this year going after his own Party. This week, however, he turned his ire towards people who don't look like him and insisted that "Sharia Law" could be coming to the United States if we don't shut down the southern border and stop Muslims from entering the country. Republican Congressman Chip Roy of Texas has made a lot of headlines in recent months. I've talked about it a lot. Um, the fact that he has been willing to just blast his own party as a bunch of do nothing idiots in Congress. And anytime I agree with a Republican about how bad the Republicans are, hell yeah, I'm gonna talk about it. But in the last week, chip Roy has made headlines for something completely different that I absolutely do not agree with, and definitely feel the need to call him out. On Tuesday of this week, Republican representative Chip Roy of Texas took to the floor of the House of Representatives where he once again blasted his party for not doing anything. But this time he blasted his own party for not doing anything about preventing Sharia law from, uh, making its way into the United States here because we're not closing off our southern border.
Now let me read you this very long rant that Chip Roy went on. Absolutely. Just insane rant. Uh, he said, how many campaign ads, how many speeches are going to be given by my Republican colleagues between now and November about what they will do to secure the border and what they're doing right now? Shrugging. Sorry. Can't do anything. We're shrugging it off. We're pretending it's not happening. I mean, is anybody paying attention to what's happening in London? Where, you know, recently they, they elected a Muslim into Parliament, so, oh God, right? You've got a massive Muslim takeover of the United Kingdom going on right before our eyes. People say, chip. Well, what is wrong with that? Well, I've got some pretty strong concerns about Sharia law and whether that will be forced upon the American people, in this case, the people of the United Kingdom. I've got pretty strong concerns about what, about people who wanna see Israel's destruction, who were happy about October 7th, who were elected in the United Kingdom.
Some might say that we've seen that here in the United States. What are we gonna do about that? We have 51 and a half million people who are foreign born in the United States. They have about 20, 25 million kids that puts that well over 20 something percent of the population, and it's the highest such number of the history of our country. People say, well, isn't that great, is it, are we teaching people about Western civilization? Are we teaching people about the constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the rule of law? Are we teaching them Western values? Are we teaching them God exists? Are we te you? Like seriously? Do you realize how hypocritical and stupid your own argument is? I'm worried about another religion imposing their laws on us, and we better be teaching these people about God so we can continue to live in a Christo fascist state. Right? That's what you're saying. You're like, we don't want religion to rule the day unless it's our religion, right? Like we want the Christians to call the shots. We can't have these Muslims. Look at the, the uk a Muslim got into Congress or Parliament,

Republicans also awhile back tried to make raping young children completely legal in one of their states. They proposed a law that made it illegal for a spouse to file any rape charges against her husband, meaning that all a Republican would have to do after raping, say, a five-year old, is marry her or him, and that new spouse couldn't file any charges.
This plan was halted though when it started to make the news.
Also, awhile back, Republicans in one of their red states tried to make the ra pin g of young children completely legal by making it completely illegal for a spouse to file any ra pe charges against her husband. This would have meant that all a Republican would have to do to avoid being arrested for raping, say, a five-year-old child, would be to marry that child. Then, that child couldn't file any charges.

I seriously think pro-choice Americans should absolutely start calling abortion bans/restrictions "Saria Law". Over and over again, until everyone starts seeing them for what they are.
Ironically, Islam is actually relatively liberal on abortion.
So the Christians are actually WORSE than shari'ah law on that front.
They've been referred to in some circles as the American Taliban since at least 2005 for a reason. I refuse to except a life under religious extremists in the US, and I don't really give a damn which specific religion tries to make it happen.

Chip seemed to get upset that the Muslim mayor was reelected. He has been mayor since 2016. No Sharia law in London to date. And if we tell him their PM is Hindu, he will go absolutely apoplectic.

To Chip Roy's credit, he is blaming the right party for doing nothing on the border. That is the only part of his speech that deserves any credit. But after his tirade against his own party for doing nothing he knows that he can't run on accomplishments. So he is running on fear.

@@Joanna-il2ur actually, no he didn't lose his seat - he resigned as the MP for the London Borough of Tooting in 2016 when he was voted in as London Mayor (as any newly elected Mayor previously serving as an MP would have to do). He's the first Mayor of London to serve 3 terms.

I keep trying to tell people that the *only* difference between now and 3+ decades ago is the honesty, but so few people want to accept that. The first Amendment say's Congress is forbidden from the establishment of a singular Religion. They are also not allowed to infringe on our Religious right to be Religious or not. That's what the Freedom of Religion means.

There’s a movement going on in the Netherlands, Spain and other European countries where people are pushing back against Muslim immigrants demanding changes to existing laws that will align more with Sharia’s law. Maybe London was not the best example.
