Absolutely love this video! You're doing an amazing job with your youtube channel :)
Thank you so much! That's great to hear. Lot more coming...rock on
Im binge watching this channel, criminally under suggested.
Thank you and keep playing!
I've been playing G (and E and full-barre F) chords forever, but I never once thought about the two octaves range till you showed it on the piano keyboard. I knew there were two octaves in each chord, but never considered the range. Great visual and great explanation.
Great job, too, with timbre, pretty much an elusive concept.
Thanks!
(I'm a former student, though I only use my top-secret pseudonym here. I may need to re-up. Soon.)
So awesome to hear, yeah it took me years for some of these ideas to settle in. They seemed so simple once I got them.
I just started 11 mths ago I’am 54 I feel so lost Blues so far is what I really like. I need to find What I want to play but it’s so hard
Just keep playing!
Am trying my friend as a beginner I could say first hand people get discouraged, because they get lost all over the fretboard so many changes, and adjustments that Brain has to get adjusted to so many combinations do a video the mindset of a new guitarist
I hate it when guitar players display this sense that their superior because they're ignorant. "I just play from the heart MAAAAAAAN!" Well, yeah, but think how much more you could do if you took the time to learn what the hell is actually going on when you play. "I play music, but I don't know anything about it" is a toxic attitude among guitarists, IMO.
Couldn't agree more, imagine a painter saying they don't need to know how to mix colors, or a baker/chef saying they don't need to know what temp food cooks at. crazy.....Every craftsperson should know their craft and art. Thanks for watching and commenting!
So very true!
@H A R Sure, you can be great and remain ignorant. But theory is like a shortcut. And it's not nearly as scary as guitar players think it is. Learn a few scales and how chords relate to them and you're good to go.
@H A R Well then I'm talking to the majority of players who don't have learning disabilities.
@H A R I'm not shaming anybody. People are free to learn as they see fit, including those with disabilities. One might think you brought that up to set me up for that sort of quip. I hope you feel appropriately badass for it. Sick burn, bro.
