Joe is a true master...much as Donovan Cook set the stage for Genndy, Craig, and Rob with "2 Stupid Dogs," he did the very same with Derek and Stephen, and so many others, with "Rocko's Modern Life." It is marvelous to hear him speak...he is articulate and thoughtful, and even philosophical. Thank you for giving him a chance to share some of his memories.
Rocko was the debut not just for Joe becoming a well established show runner, but it was also Derek and Stephen's humble beginnings before making the channel's biggest show that became a successful franchise. Just gonna leave it there
Always love hearing about our beginnings! Miss Joe. Go Giants!! Proud to be part of this crazy world. Thanks to Joe, George Maestri, and Nick Jennings!!
Hey Carlos! Thanks for dropping a comment! It was awesome to hear the stories from Joe. I’ve been doing a lot of creator reunion eps where we’ve had the creator, a voice actor (or 2-3) a writer, exec abs board artist coming on. You up for a Rocko’s reunion ep?
Do you think you’ll do an interview with Paul Rudish? He worked on Symbionic Titan and The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. But before all that he made a short called 3 Dog Band.
How do manage to so many absolute legends to do these interviews with?! And (yes I've asked this before but it bears repeating) why do you have so few views?! I've been telling as many people as I can about your channel, so hopefully you'll get some new subscribers soon. 👍
I just ask them if they want to come on. I’m never really on social media, I get on from time to time and reach out to people. Some say yes some say no. And it just takes time we’ve been going for 4 years, we started with 1 subscriber and now we are at 6.5k I believe. One day the algorithm gods might help us find those animation fans
I understand Joe is happy that Static Cling was released on Netflix, but I’m not. To me it means it was rejected by Nickelodeon at the last minute, retconning its status as canon. Yes I know it’s because the Hey Arnold Jungle Movie was just shy of getting the required ratings, but that’s because of Netflix pulling people away from cable. I understand Joe is happy, but Static Cling can never air on TV as intended nor can it ever be released on DVD. It’s destined to become lost media.
Here’s to hoping they pop it on a DVD. I’ve seen them do it with stranger things, obviously that’s a super massive series, so it’s apples to oranges when it comes to comparing the two. But hopefully it could happen.
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcast Thanks for the quick reply! I’d hope he didn’t end it this soon. If so, that’s unfortunate . . . I’m a big fan of his work and would have love to contribute to his future projects and access his training courses. If it’s not too much to ask, is there any way that you still have his contact info and could send a message?
@@WhatsInMyHeadPodcastMan . . . that’s unfortunate. Thank you for getting back to me. I appreciate you doing that and I really enjoyed this episode. Going to check out more!

Holy moly! These keep getting better and better. I loved Rocko and Camp Lazlo growing up, and saw bits of Let’s Go Luna too.

Why can’t I access Joe’s Patreon? Is it working for anyone else?
Not sure, it’s not letting me access it either. I checked the link, it takes you to his page. Maybe he took it down?
