in blue eyes guardragon you can use your white stone to make the guardragons then use red eyes to bring it back 2 more times drawing you 3 or sometimes even 4 blue eyes during your combo which you can all shuffle back with saryuja to essentialy draw +4 from with saryuja

Red eyes is my favorite dragon archetype and it seems they keep catching the short end of the FUCKING STICK EVERY SINGLE TIME. THAT SHIT BURNS ME and the dont ever touch the blue eyes archetype despite the fact I like the archetype as well.
REDMD needs to be limited, not banned. It's powerful, but the card itself is not broken. The Guardragon wombo combos are broken. So the OCG banlist didn't even adress the real problem, that being Guardragons

Konami let the Guarddragon combo live for a minute just to move product. 3. Because people wanted GOOD dragon support because dragons were garbage at the time. Even after his release the best variants were disaster dragon and hopeless dragon and they were decent at best. Dragons weren't really put on the map until Chaos Dragon and then Rulers became a thing.
Because he was made more than 10 years, ago, when any notion of "hard OPT" or "restrictions" were not yet a main factor in card design. I thought Drew addressed this in the video.

I will never understand why konami made darkness metal so good, like why couldn't they tie his effects to the red eyes archetype? No instead they made it good for all dragons cards
Because people wanted GOOD dragon support because dragons were garbage at the time. Even after his release the best variants were disaster dragon and hopeless dragon and they were decent at best. Dragons weren't really put on the map until Chaos Dragon and then Rulers became a thing.
Because he was made more than 10 years, ago, when any notion of "hard OPT" or "restrictions" were not yet a main factor in card design. I thought Drew addressed this in the video.

That's not an excuse, this card was op even back then, a 10 year old could predict that it would become even more busted in time especially after xyz, saying that they couldn't predict this is retarded, they could've changed the card a long time ago but no now it's banned because some people want to abuse it
I mean, it is a 12 year old card, made before the Red-eyes archetype was even a thing, at a time it's effect was good, but not insane.
On top of that, it was made in gx era. Card design at that point was kinda stupid.
