- This week was all about cooking-pickling onions, eggs, red peppers, and carrots. It was a busy week of grocery shopping at Casa Cheia with my aunt; we walked there. On our way home, my uncle picked us up because we couldn't carry all the bags. Andrei and I were invited to a BBQ in Capelas with friends, and we had a great time. Mid-week, we visited our friends for coffee and cake. While waiting for the cake to bake, I took my niece Alice for a walk, and we ended up at the park. I swung on the swings and had so much fun; it made me feel youthful again.
Esta semana foi toda sobre culinária - conserva de cebolas, ovos, pimentos vermelhos e cenouras. Foi uma semana movimentada de compras de supermercado na Casa Cheia com minha tia; nós caminhamos até lá. No caminho para casa, meu tio nos pegou porque não podíamos carregar todas as compras. Andrei e eu fomos convidados para um churrasco nas Capelas com amigos, e nos divertimos muito. No meio da semana, visitamos nossos amigos para café e bolo. Enquanto esperava o bolo assar, levei minha sobrinha Alice para passear e acabamos no parque, gostei dos balanços; eles me fizeram sentir jovem novamente.

My hubby took me there back in February 2020 the start of covid unbeknownst to us for the first few days what was to come, after leaving there at the age if 10yrs.old so after 47 years. after I stepped outside of the airport and smelling that amazing fresh sea air I just felt this sudden urge to burst out crying and the overwhelming feeling that I was finally home once again. It was as if my spirit secretly yearned for that return. I just love that you and Andre are living your best life in such a beautiful country that I for one hadn't a Clue how beautiful it was since we didn't go far outside of our little freguesia when we were growing up only for the acception of Ponta Delgada for important appointments. I hadn't the foggiest idea how beautiful my homeland was. I kept saying over and over again how it reminded me of Hawaii. Mind you I've never been there, but from what I've seen on television.
