Thank you for making all the videos you do. I just want you to know they're extremely helpful and I appreciate them a lot. Makes research a lot easier since you condense everything so nicely into these videos. When we finally decide to move out there I'll definitely hit you up.

Honestly, I don't understand why people have so many issues with the cold and the snow. I'm from the UK (I'm considering moving to New Hampshire, though unlikely) and we never get any snow here. However, when we do get snow, the whole country shuts down and I don't understand why. Seriously, snow really isn't that hard to deal with and people often complain about how cold England is even despite the warm weather. It's January and when I go out I don't even need a jacket because of the temperatures. I don't really need a coat until temperatures get below freezing tbh. Snowy Winters are beautiful and they're just how they're supposed to be. New Hampshire really isn't that cold imo.

I studied in York, England during a spring semester (Jan-May) and I remember only 1-2 dustings of snow. Temperatures at their worst only necessitated a light jacket. Not bad at all.

It makes me chuckle now, but I never saw snow until I was 27 years old and moved to Colorado from Texas. I WAS NOT PREPARED. I lived in shorts, tanks and flip flops. I never owned a pair "snowveralls"/snow pants in my life and have only ever needed a thin pair of knitted gloves in the winter time. Now I have ALL the gear and then some and my husband and I are pretty well prepared for our first winter in New Hampshire. Dry and powdery snow in Colorado is one thing... we are pretty anxious to see what the "ice-coast" brings this ski season. I just learned how to snowboard in Colorado last season. Something tells me that I'm going to have to learn all over again....

Haha, that's funny but true for so many people who live in warm climates. I skied for most of my life and can say Colorado definitely has better condiitions. However skiing or snowboarding on the east coast increases your skill level that much faster.

I attended the now defunct Nathaniel Hawthorne College. The Winters I was there-1969 and 1970, were mild for New Hampshire. This was in Antrim, with nearby Hillsboro.

Last winter wasn't too bad, and at our
apartment we now have a garage.
This year we are going to SE Florida
for two months after New Year's Day.

A garage is definitely a nice thing to have if you own a home in New England. However if you can travel to a warmer climate during the winter months, it's even better.

Winter's in NH can be relentless. Fall is the best season here. Spring and Summers are buggy and humid. That is the reality and facts.

DUDE THE WEATHER HERE IS LITERALLY INSANE
when It rains It’s on and off Like It’s pouring then Immediately drizzling and then it’s not even raining and then It repeats for like 3 days
and the worst temperatures stay the longest
It’s nice warm weather and then it’s burning hot
then it’s nice cool weather and then it’s freezing
winter is the worst it stays the longest out of all of the seasons and it’s like the most uncomfortable

Do you know New Hampshire is the best resort in the world and they are installing a hot tub outside and a hot tub inside and a pool outside and a pool inside and a five star resort

Two questions. 1. Are there any construction jobs in NH? (plumbing, electrical, hvac) and 2. Does construction work continue in the winter months even if it gets really cold?

I have so many questions. Do you have to have snow tires? What is the average heating bill in the winter? What do people do if they lose power? Does everyone have a generator? Lol! Clearly I live where it’s warm most of the year. I’m fascinated with cold weather!

I don't blame you, it's a big change from living in a warm climates. Check out these two videos, they go more in depth about preparing for winter & utilities.

To heat an average size house in So. NH by Propane (very popular way to heat) will cost you about $4K/yr give or take. A generator that will be able to run your heat and water pump is a must. Most of the state is on well water. During the ice storm of 2009, we lost power for 11 days in S. NH. It was a bit stressful. Having a wood stove is a great idea
