@@Marin3r101 he's explained many times that the things that get cleaned off in ultrasonic are often the clues that point to the root issue on the board. Can't find corrosion under a chip if every sign of it is washed away.
I would also like to see the before and after ultrasonic process.

I don't do board repair.
I'm a welder at heart.
Pipes,tubes, sheet metal.
Now I'm the back line to our sales staff, i work through the drawings, give article criticism from a produktion standpoint to our customers, help them get a better/cheaper to produce product. And give the boys and girls on the floor the right info to do the best job most efficient possible.
What I've noticed is key to repeat business, we solve the customers problems.
I cut down what tey think they want to wats really important and critical so the produktion staf spend time on that rather than some random measurement on a drawing that's not important.
=The customer pays for what they realy need.
It's all the same, you solve a problem fore your customers, they don't ned to know exactly how. your contractor solves your problems and you don't need to know every detail in that.
I always look for "that guy/girl" that wants to solve my problem if i need something done.
So i try to be that guy to our customers.
This has made our business grow, and we are now working with most of our customers in their prototype stage.
We all make more money in the end and thats the goal.
If i break it down.
Be the best you can be.
Try every day to be better and sharper in your field.
Help your customer, take their load of.
9/10 times they will come back with more business.

I didn't know you were a sound engineer. Sm57 is my favorite for recording guitar.
Just letting you know that I usually get the board repair vids in my recommendations even if I tbh did not activate the bell, since I never felt like I was missing your uploads. I got into it because of the explanations of your train of thought and stayed a regular viewer simply for you, i guess. I generelly don't comment often, simply because I have the tendency of only commenting when something aggravates me. TLDR at the bottom. Even if I don't do anything even remotely related to board repair, I think I enjoy the way you teach consistency and logical procedure in those videos. Also I enjoy listening to you stating your opinion about Apple and the world because you use the same methods as in board repair.
To clarify (example IS lacking but whatever): You look at the current state of things ands symptoms of something faulty. (Apple working against right to repair (RTR)) You go back to analyzing what might have been the issue/causation. (Apple claiming to lose income because of third party repair businesses using RTR). And then going 'back to the future' to solve the issue by spreading information and supporting the legislation by speaking in front of a jury.
TLDR: Your logical explanations besides board repair made me a regular viewer and made me want to hear you opinions ("rambling...") even if I still watch the repair videos.

I legitimately think this is my old laptop. I sold it a year ago after limping along with random shutdowns from a big spill. Same color dog hair in the fan. Same board model. Exact same symptoms. Thought I was crazy but things just kept fitting. Kinda cool full circle, I’ve been watching for a while and this is gonna be cool to see what was actually wrong. Cheers.

To follow up on the comment I made on your short video asking about what can be done to enhance viewership. There was a lot of down time in this video when you were cleaning rails up and replacing small parts, but what are those parts you're replacing. Are you replacing them or returning the original parts once the board has been cleaned up and currosion removed? If you could explain these processes a tad more thoroughly I'd appreciate it and I'm sure many more would as well.

I'm well happy that I saved my iPhone se after I put it in the washing machine in my robe lol. Was on a 55min wash and 2 1400 rpm 12min spin cycles and came out dead with a cracked screen and I dried and IPA with a cotton bud after 30 mins it appears to be working although the screen also has water in it but thats okay it still works :)

Louis, if you know the amount of people who are accident prone that drink near to or on, yes on, their laptops you would have a conniption.
I think it’s like some people being lactose intolerant or have an intolerance for certain grains cause our species didn’t evolve with refined foodstuffs etc, it’s the same for electronics.

Stupid question. With the chips, you remove and replace, how do you know where the pins/points/legs are when you place the chip back on the pads on the board? What about the resistors and the diodes ... how do you knows which direction they’re placed back on the board?

Did this fix the random shutdown? Seems as though the fan probably spun and machine turned on prior to repairs. So not sure if fan spin = fixed this time around. Do you just run it for a while after the Crest and see if it stays on?

Just a quick question. My macbook pro 2017 with touch bar shut downs automatically and saw a smoke coming out on the charger port while charging. 3 motnhs ago I spilled coffee but just a little not a lot of coffee on the keybord, that was 3 months ago. Until last night it completelt shut down. Is that the cause right? or is there another cause? Thanks for answering
