Probably would have included Saint George. This was incredibly hard to research. Very little info out there and even very few pictures of some spots. I got married at Saint Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic in Chicago
@@purely_catholicstop promoting lies. Melania is not the presidents wife as he is already married previously ...she is in a false non marriage but in an adulterous relationship. You call yourself a catholic channel & are pushing these heretical lies....
Growing up in Chicago, I have to agree that St. Nicholas Cathedral is superb. However, you completely overlooked that incredibly unique all-wooden St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lexington, NY built in the traditional Hutsul style of the Carpathian Mountains, as well as the modern adaptation of that style found in the Holy Trinity UCC in Kerhonkson, NY
I got married in Saint Nicholas… they’ve really spruced it up. Didn’t even know about the church in Lexington. It’s hard to track some of these places down… it’s not nearly as researched as Roman Catholic Churches.
Yes! And honestly when they say these Rusyn churches were built to reflect their Byzantine culture and spirituality and there is no wood in or on it seems like we are abandoning some of our culture. Carpatho Rusyn Christians and even the Ukrainians, have a Huge tradition of wooden churches in our homelands.
My parish, St Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, in Trenton, NJ should definitely make the list. It’s beautiful and one of the oldest eastern Catholic churches in the United States, opening its doors in 1896.
St John Chrystostom in Pittsburgh Pa (nr 10) is located in an area of Pittsburgh called Ruska Dolina or Rusyn Valley. As for a Church I would suggest St Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Mont Clair Pa. Very nice.
I go to a Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in my hometown of Oshawa Ontario Canada and the Catholic church is called St. George's the great martyr Parish and it's very beautiful and it's over 100 plus years old. You guys should do videos on the top 10 most beautiful Ukrainian Catholic churches in Canada
These are great vids. I just wish you would take another 20 minutes to learn to pronounce these words correctly. I mean " i-CON -o-stas", 'E'-par-key", etc. If it's an AI voice, then train it.
Great Video. However, the announcer should have taken the time to learn to pronounce certain words such as Byzantine, Iconostasis, ect. properly We Eastern Catholics appreciate these words being pronounced correctly!
Some of the churches in this list have too many modern architectural motifs, also too many Latin styles, given when some of them were built, represents the Latinization many of our churches are finally coming out of. That's why though smaller than some of these churches, my parish of st. John Chrysostom in Columbus Ohio would go before some of these. Also the inside of st. John Chrysostom in Columbus has a lot of timber and wood on the inside more reflecting our ancestral churches in the carpatho rusyn mountains. Large wood churches is kind of our thing.
The eastern rites (Ukrainian, Maronite, Syro-Malabar, etc) are all in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church. They recognize the Pope’s authority… but tend to be more orthodox in their liturgy and aesthetic.
It's not the beauty of the building that counts, but rather the beautiful *GOSPEL* message ▶▶▶▶▶▶ John 14:6. 🧡🧡🧡
Great video; Saint John’s Byzantine in Bayonne NJ is outstanding too
Idk who runs this channel, but the content you put out is phenomenal. Undisputed gem of a RUclips channel right here.
Thanks!
@@purely_catholic, iirc Chaldean Catholics have Qorbono (core-bo-no), not Mass.
You forgot St George Ukrainian Catholic Church in Manhattan, and my church, St John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Syracuse NY
