Excellent review. They did play all 5 of these songs at the concerts last weekend - I can't wait to see - and hear - those live performances.
Maya is a Sanskrit (or Hindi perhaps) word meaning illusion. I really like that song ... but I really like them all.
Only BABYMETAL could make me really enjoy a song like 'Time Wave' - that really isn't my sort of thing at all ... how do they do that?
'METALIZM' ("Metalizmizumizu") is my top track ... 'Monochrome' was my favourite single - and I really like the sax solo in 'The Legend'.🎷
They played all songs from the album on the two concerts. some one the first some on the second. The concerts were the best I ever experienced

Babymetal variety in styles and genres is always a joy, a Babymetal album is like that box of chocolate, you never know what you are gonna get.
They are unpredictable, which is one of the best things about them.
Music critics in metal/rock have said: when Babymetal announces a new album it automatically becomes one of the most anticipated albums of the year.

I listened to the full album today again. I like all the songs. Babymetal is one of my favorite artists since I first watched their video Gimme Chocolate!!! All their albums are great. Their live shows are awesome. This is a band in my must see live list. My other favorite band is Lovebites. These 2 bands are on my favorite playlists. It's nice to watch great reactions and read the nice comments from many fans.
When you get the chance, do listen to the whole album from start to finish with all the songs in order. The context within the rest of the album changed my feelings about some of the singles. I didn't really love Light and Darkness as a single, but it fits perfectly in the album I liked it a lot more. And Monochrome sounds harder and faster when it's following METALIZM. It works very well as a full album.

I'm always amazed on how music can hit us from so different perspectives. And BABYMETAL is a clear example of that because they have the ability to change that perspective from one song to another. They have changed my own way of understanding and enjoying music. And I'm so grateful for it.

From the four songs that were released in advance, I wouldn‘t have expected the album to be that versatile. The mixture of genres is pretty cool, I‘m glad that they haven‘t lost that. My biggest fear was that they would be making a vanilla Metal album.
If they ever play The Legend as the last song of a live show, I know I‘ll come out a sobbing mess.
I also love every song on this album. Yesterday they sold out the VIP tickets for their Taiwan concert within one minute. Then all the tickets were sold out within five minutes. Good luck every day. 🎉🦊

Excellent reaction, Verdy! Of all the songs on the album, finding a favorite can be tough...but I think a surprise standout is METALIZM. It reminds me of the way BMC jumped off of Metal Galaxy, unexpected and maybe not appreciated right away....but so different and catchy!

the way I break down this album and from the way I understand it, it's an album that is saying goodbye to the old Babymetal (The Legend) and an introduction to the Other One (Momo Metal who is now the official third member), so the next album will be back to three members and singers and a New Babymetal going forward
You might be a bit young to remember it, but the Believing part you said it was nice, it has some clear reference to the TATU song "All the things she said" :D

They have taken us on an adventure with this album.
In hindsight I regret that I've watched the videos which had been released before the album. They already provided images to the songs. It would have been so much better to find my own images first.
Do listen to Duran Duran. The biggest band in the world in the early 80s and one of the few bands that are still massive till today. They were recently inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by their super fan, Robert Downey Jr aka Ironman. People like Gwen Stefani and Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston and Anne Hathaway are also super fans of the band. 😊

IMHO it's their best one technically speaking, great, great production, though overall Metal Resistance is still the top one.
It should be noted that this is not considered in a way "canonical", indeed their logo is blackened on the cover, it's an experiment, a very successful one I'd say., they stated so many times in their recent interviews.
So we don't really know what they will do for their next one, probably something closer to Metal Galaxy, more fast and bright, but Only The Fox God Knows.
METALIZM is definitely the WTF song of the album, I love it, it's exactly what we look for in BABYMETAL, it's unpredictable!
Yeah, don't esitate, when they'll tour the North America again, take your chance.

Babymetal announced they will be in Toronto on Sep 18, 2023 ! It's a Monday. Please find a way to get their, I think it's 1 train ride and 45 minute walk (they also have bikesharetoronto, 15 minutes).
Your mission is not impossible, you have 5 months to make it happen !

Babymetal has had two recent shows, two concerts at the end of january and another two on April 1 and 2. The last five songs of the album that were not played, were in this last one.
Someday you will have to check their shows Verdy, Babymetal is known for the whole theatric experience of their arena concerts.
Glad you enjoyed it. Some people miss the early kawaii stuff but I think this is their most consistent album. Monochrome is my favourite.
It's consistent because it's a concept album, it's trying to fit together in some way.
@@autohmae I mean in terms of there being really no weak songs rather than the style of the songs or the themes of the songs.
Generally I like most Babymetal songs from all the albums but there's normally at least 1 or 2 I don't play anymore or that don't appeal to me. I wont say which songs because for some people they may be surprising!

Many have said the album should have been named Metal Kingdom, but I say METALIZM. As to how to classify it (if we must), one person described as Arabicore.
The sax in Legend reminds me of Jerry Rafferty.
BTW, I waited to listen to the un-previewed tracks so I could hear them w/ you for the first time.

About the sax, in my mind someone probably said: you know what would be a good fit here a saxophone and then they said: yes, let's do that. And they did. Just like that.
It was just the best instrument for such music and just did it.
On a bunch of places on the album they have rock instruments playing all kinds of EDM/trance, etc., but here they choose the normal instrument used for such a style.
I wish they choose it longer though. 🙂

LIVE Pro Shot videos of the recent concerts are drifting out (visually filtered for copyright but with clear LIVE audio) and Suzuka’s vocals are as always so much better LIVE and the choreography (Metalizm is wonderful) and instrumentals by The Kami’s are astounding. Also with Momoko now having a headset mic her and Moa’s combined backing vocals make for a richer sound.

Maya is probably the weakest song on the album. It's a bit generic to me. With that said, it's still a good song. You know it's a great album when a song like this is the weakest. 🙂
Maya is 1 of my favourites. Divine Attack is the weakest for me.

on a scale from 1 to 10 i give it .5...some of the worst music ive ever heard...i feel sorry for the musicians...a resounding no...its safe to say it isnt even music and in time it will become clear
