- I am making DIY fishing bait to create neon green glow worms with Night Crawlers and Worm Glo. Will bait fishing with green worms work better than regular worms for fishing bait?
I want to show you how to turn regular Night Crawlers into radioactive green glow worms. It seems pretty impossible, but I assure you it is simple. If I can turn my worms green, will the fish even be interested in them? Let’s see if we can catch bait fish to live line for striped bass.
We are fishing in Baltimore, Maryland for striped bass, catfish, perch, and spot. Fishing with worms is a common bait to catch these species of fish; however, I have never tried fishing with glowing worms like this! The Worm-Glo used in this episode to turn worms green had surprising results, and I am going to keep a few nightcrawlers around when I go fishing from now on.

A true test would have been to use 2 poles, one with green worms and one with regular worms to see which got more bites.

I think this is the same as “sea dye”. We had it in the USAF. Air crew would dump it in the ocean to mark a spot. It was an orange powder, but would turn fluorescent green when it came in contact with water. The worms have a high water makeup, and thin, porous skin, so they soaked it up quick. On my last day of my 4 year enlistment, i was tied up and soaked with water. Then the guys dumped sea dye all over me. It took a week of showers to get the yellow stain off my skin.

Hi! Salute from Brazil! I tried fishing with natural color earthworns in saltwater and it worlked! I caught many small and médium size fish! It was awsome! Next time i'll try green ones!

Would like to see a comparison between green worms and regular to see if it really makes a difference or is just a gimmick.
At night or in dirty water I bet it would make a difference
I agree on the dirty/merky water but fish go off of more then just sight I’m sure that powder has some form of sent to it as well.
I've never had fish baiting instantly like that. so I guess it does the job.
I've tried both and I've had better luck river fishing with the glo worms. Channel cat love them.

Totally works!!!!!! I had a deep sea fishing trip in Morro Bay CA. I had this big plan to film my worms and any fish I catch..... Unfortunately asap the boat stopped to fish I got ill. However I was able to fish with my worms and hooked a black sea bass. I don't share the same thought that the worms like the worm glo my worms behavior was that it hurt them, still I used the product and worked.
This is pretty neat. I think this would be a cool project to do with the kids. I wonder if it will work on blood worms. it's pretty cool they have chirp on the Deeper. It makes a huge difference on my other sonar. I might have to pick on up now.
5:16 😂😂😂 , great video, have you thought about using those wire fish basket keeper, just tie it to your kayak , in Florida I notice the dolphins left our bait fish alone while they were in the wire basket in the water . The birds was still interested by they couldn’t figure out why they can’t get to the fish through the wire 😇
That sticker on his paddle has my OCD going crazy lol and I've used green glowing worms as a kid I'm now 38 so I'm pretty it's not anything new besides maybe being able to buy the powder to do it yourself. But yeah they have been around for many many years!

When you put worms down,put the little box upside down and since they go to the bottom when you go to get one they’ll be up at the top for you

Used it for years when it came out in 1992. I've taken people fishing around boat docks when spotted bass were being finiky. Actually seen worms that were died sold in Walmart. Rig em like you do a plastic worm and use a small split shot & hold on!!!! They really excel in Clearwater during fall and spring months. Toxic part is not been proven to be detrimental to the environment. I wouldn't want to get the dye in my mouth or a cut. But no worries so far. Tournament fished for years and I still use the dye from time to time

You can buy both. They sell worms already died green, or you can purchase the green feed that will turn your worms green. Not a hoax.

I seen that too but they literally started to turn green on cam here in michigan they are 2 dollars more than regular worms because for some reason walleye musky and pike love them and those are our most active runs so they take advantage i guess

Carp eat earthworms? Caught one on one once but that’s because I saw fish spawning off shore and didn’t know what kind they were and basically hit em in the head with it repeatedly until one finally bit. Figured I just finally pissed it off enough 😆
i think this green is flurocene, its for search and rescue as it dyes the sea... you can buy it flavored in the uk by brands such as korda tackle

Just as big night crawler worms in norway, used to get alot back in the day about 25 years ago when fishing salmon in a river named "Etne elven"

Here in Minnesota you can buy them green already they are great. But i don't think they are any better then a normal worm.

I have a deeper chirp. I use it in creeks and ponds in North Georgia. I am surprised sometimes by how deep some of these small bodies of water can be near the bank. There can be really big fish in small creeks, ponds and rivers.
Deeper cause that's the main channel.

so for bank fishers like myself......someone needs to make a fish finding sonar that not only goes down but mayb scans a fan pattern say up to 100 foot away.......that way you woukdnt have to be on top of the fish to be able to see it ya know

It'd be interesting to do a comparison between the glow worms and other forms of bait. I generally use chicken and when I can get to a bait shop prawn and squid. How good is the fight in catfish? I got sick of them for a while, but after all the smaller yellowfin bream I appreciate the fight from the bigger cats now!

Minnesota has pike and muskie that are 70inches long my friend no way a 6lb line is holding a 40lb muskie with shark like teeth or will cut 6lb no problem had it happen need steel leaders
