Here's an episode I recorded a few months ago about the Norwegian alphabet. The Norwegian alphabet is based on the Latin alphabet and consists of 29 letters. The difference between the Latin alphabet and the Norwegian alphabet is that the Norwegian alphabet consists of three extra letters: æ, ø and å. Let's learn more about that!
Good news: new episodes will now be released on a weekly basis on my RUclips-channel. I have not decided what day of the week I will upload new episodes, but I'll let you know next week!
If you have any questions or feedback, it's appreciated if you leave a comment here on RUclips or in the forums ►www.learnnorweg...

The cute flowers spinning around in the breeze with the background music and the alphabet just makes me feel like I am in kindergarten all over again.
:)
@@jeficdequina6986 ppppppppppp
Where the heck did you go to kintergarten? Sounds pretty awesome!
Time for a juice box and a nap nap.
I look like an absolute idiot when I repeat the letters after him out loud......but it's worth it.
ikr
Cool
Ify 😂
😂😂😂
lol, gotta start somewhere
I 'm french and it is really hard to pronounce your language but I like the way it sounds
Yeah that hard 😅
Oh tu trouves? ^^
Pareil
I get what you mean. French is my second language so some of the Norwegian letters I find myself pronouncing in French instead
you might be talking about the language in general but the alphabet's pronunciation except for a few letters is actually pretty close to french
This is great, Peder. You are speaking much more slowly and clearly, and I can use the subtitles to keep up with you. Månge takk!
So glad I found this video! Exactly what I need, I started a Norwegian class, it's very intimaditing, but I think this will help, thanks :) I can listen over and over to get it just right!
+Katie Hartmann That's great! I am glad you like the video. :)
Please keep these videos going :)
Your channel is one of the few decent Norwegian learning RUclips channels out there.
sacredbanana I will upload a new episode every week for a few months to test it out. If that works well I will continue to do it after that as well. Thank you for watching! :-)
Hei, Peder. I just wanted to tell you that you inspired me to choose Norwegian as the main language for my Scandinavian cultures and languages studies. Tusen takk!
Takk!
Thanks so much! I am Norwegian but my family lives in the US and had for a couple of generations. I love the culture and want to visit Norway once I finished collage and maybe even move there.
Good news: new episodes will now be released on a weekly basis on my RUclips-channel. I have not decided what day of the week I will upload new episodes, but I'll let you know next week!

And i Moved from united states to norway so i need help with that
Norway men
Was needing this. The pronunciation of å always gets me - methinks now it's the rough equivalent of the portuguese (my native language) ô... whereas ø is more like our ê... and æ is like á! :p So, tusen takk!
came here to finally understand why norwegians say "ok" as "ookuo"

Hello Peder, learning Norwegian with your videos is a great pleasure! Thanks a lot! ☺️😁 Warm and Best wishes from the UK! 🇬🇧🌿 P. S. I'm a beginner! ☺️☺️
I loved how letter f was pronounced ♡
I have no ability whatsoever to make the rolling rrrr sound :-(
I had the same trouble, but it came with practice. Easier said than done. Keep trying!
I‘m happy I can use the rolled r in norwegian, I can’t pronounce the french r...
I have no problems to say r in italian, swiss german and norwegian, I have nearly no problems to say it in english, but in french I have big problems (and in germany and Austria they will recognize that I am from Switzerland cause we use the rolled-r in german)
same it suck lol
Holly A I can do it because i speak spanish.i love languages.you can try doing a kind of vibration with tongue like a truck.
Being a romanian helps me soo much with learning new languages....
YAY æ ø å!!! BTW, I use a mac, and on the mac you get the extra three letters by
æ = Alt-' (that's an apostrophe)
ø = alt-o
å = alt-a
:-)
æøå ty!
or :æ-ae, ø-oe, å-aa
And press ALT + SHIFT you will get the capital letters: ÆØÅ
You can also hold down on the ‘a’ and ‘o’ keys (same with other keys such as ‘i’ and ‘e’) and wait for more options to show up.
On Macs, you need to press the number that’s associated with the letter you want while still holding down the selected key (e.g. you’d press ‘2’ if you want ‘é’ and still hold the ‘e’ key).
For iPhones, iPads, and iPods, you have to hold down the key and then slide over to the letter you want (e.g. you have to slide a little to the left if you want ‘ü’ while still keeping your finger on the screen).
Windows? Anyone?
Hehe I'm actually Norwegian i just wanted to watch this vid😂 Dette er veldig hjelpsom hvis noen har lyst til å lære seg Norsk👍

I came here to learn Norwegian here.
Thanks,dear friend.Tusen Tak
I'm having the hardest time with the letter "J" I can't properly pronounce it for some reason! I'm starting with the alphabet and this video is perfect! You take the perfect amount of time so we can hear the pronunciation perfectly! I'm just gonna have to keep practicing "J"
the letter J is just like the english Y in "yellow" and "yolk"
Just what I needed! Thanks. Btw., could you crank it up a bit? It's barely audible...
The order is intersting. You say Æ, Ø and Å. In Swedish we use the order Å. Ä and Ö with the ö in the end.
never thought before that we have thrown them around at the end between our languages
Tusen takk
great video, good knowledge, 2 thumbs up, i like very much XD

I'm having trouble with W, can someone spell it phonetically??

I am Belgian (Dutch is my language) it doesn't appear difficult to me. Tusen Takk!
Tusen takk!
Are you pronouncing the upper case and lower case differently?
No, not intentionally! They should be pronounced in the same way.
Am i trve kvlt yet?
Hei!
Thanks!!!!

Same
Very nice

I'm confused... What's the difference between A and AE (couldn't find the letter) and the difference between O and the A with the circle on top?
