A big thank you to both Jeff @kartkrazy and to Carl at EV drives. I did this conversion to my 2006 E-Z-Go TXT, at the same time as doing a Li battery conversion, per another of Jeff's videos. My cart has a Curtis 1205-117 controller, so the wiring was a little different, but in the end, it went together similar to this video. Both Jeff and Carl responded to my requests for additional info via e-mail (thank you both!), and some of the comments below (especially on the blue wire to the key switch ones) were helpful. I ended up running the orange wire from the Curtis controller to the "Rev" side spade on the reversing contactor (like Jeff did in this video), and running two new wires: 1 was a wire from the Curtis solenoid + to the center of the F&R switch (again, same as Jeff did in this video), and then a new wire from the Batt + terminal to the blue key switch wire, through an automotive blade fuse holder. I have a 25A fuse installed there. That last wire was needed because the battery upgrade to Li also changes out the charging receptacle, so the red wire that used to go from the reed switch in the charging receptacle to the old direction controller has to be replaced by this new fused wire. This gives the key switch 12V, which then powers the cart when the key switch is turned on. Thanks again Jeff...enjoying your videos! Cheers, Bob
Arrrgh! I just replaced the antique lever switch in a 1980 TXT and then I saw this setup! I’m making a note of it and your install, it will look amazing when you get it all loom managed in there! Great job!
Received and installed... it is working great and so much nicer than that lever did. One small issue, I am not getting 1/2 speed in Reverse. Any idea what I should troubleshoot?
Hi! I don’t see this question. I am currently upgrading my 2003 EZGO TXT. I installed a 5k Navitas motor with 600amp controller, a Modz heavy duty solenoid , and a Vatrer 150ah Lithium Battery. The Navitas motor has 3 cables and not 4 like the stock motor. Now that my Albright SW202 contactor arrived, I’m having trouble finding a diagram to wire with Navitas. Any help would be appreciated.
Ok I just realized that I don’t need the SW202 Albright contactor on this video. Lol. Your other video “ EZ-GO TXT Navitas AC conversion (Swamp thing part 3)” has the FNR electric switch without the Albright. Thank you!
So I have followed along with your video but I'm missing where my blue wire from my key switch goes. Originally I had a wire running from the positive battery to the f&r switch, and then the other connection on the f&r switch was the blue wire. In your video you showed you came from the solenoid to the middle of your FNR switch, but then you had another wire coming from the positive of your battery pack and you were going to put a fuse on it. But where did you connect that?
@@kartkrazy Got it! Needed a new wire from the +battery to the blue wire which goes to the key switch. Then from the center of the new F&R switch to the +side of the solenoid like in your video. Thanks!
My cart has an orange, blue (keyswitch), and black wire from where the lever style assembly used to be, where do I put my orange, blue, and black wires too?
I would definitely need more information… Like where the wires come from? what year is the cart? It’s kind of like trying to give a haircut over the phone
@@kartkrazy 2000 TXT 48V. the wires im talking about came off of the old FNR assembly. The old assembly had the orange wire leading to a microswitche , the black wire leading to a ground on the assembly, and the blue wire leading to a microswitch as well
Hey Jeff I have a 2001 EZGO 36V with the manual F/R shifter that I want to convert to an electric switch. Any guidance you can provide? Step by step install video and parts list?
This video is the best for doing that conversion… is there something else specific I can help you with? As stated in the video, Karl @Ev Drives can get you all the parts
Good work, a suggestion, write down every step that you would take to perform the work, then put those on the screen and say at the same time like a list. Other than that, keep up the great work!!

You could pull up the transcript and format your own...that is what I am going to do
@BRob-k6n good idea
How much was this kit? Would you need a new controller if you had the stock controller to switch to this f and r setup?
Will work with stock controller…price varies depending on setup. No more than $400
Get with Karl at www.evdrives.com
Hey Jeff, can you use this same setup on a 2008 txt with a robins 295 engine?
Negative…electric only
