thank you for this reaction to can't you see me! cysm is personally one of my favorite txt title tracks, and i always wished it got the love it deserves lol. you were definitely on track with your theory that the song was about friends growing apart and uncertainties growing up. txt said the same thing: the themes are broken friendships, betrayal, conflict, and isolation. their earlier albums were about making magical moments and promises during budding friendships, but cysm now talks about how friends can struggle with misunderstandings and maintaining relationships as they grow up and change, causing them to even start resenting each other, yet they also hope their friends will return to save them. and yes, i love how the choreo goes really well with the message of the song: how they started off laying/leaning on each other to show how well the friendship was going at first, that one part where they turn around and you can see certain members crossed their fingers behind their backs to indicate that they are lying/betraying while other members stick out their pinky fingers to indicate that they want to keep their promises and be truthful, how they are seen pleading on their knees during the chorus for their friends to understand and believe them, how they express taking their masks off at the end to show their real selves behind the facade, etc. at 20:04, the member doing that high note was taehyun! i hope you get to check out their latest comeback, deja vu, and possibly even their lollapalooza performances from 2022 and 2023 to get a better sense of how good they are live!
I was a little disappointed that the camera work zoomed in on Soobin during the live so we saw just his fingers and not everyone's 🤣 I've always loved that little detail.
I just now realized how well this song would pair with Jimin's song Lie. They're very different but I think they'd sound really good back to back... Maybe because they're trying to get at similar uncomfortable truths?

@@evantesseract737 of course! yeah i didn't even realize the camerawork for this performance wasn't optimal, which is a shame because that part of the choreo is so good. i love lie and can totally see what you mean...they both sound dark and talk about wanting salvation from lies/misunderstandings and emotional turmoil. i'm definitely gonna try listening to them back-to-back right now!

I was so happy to see another TXT reaction from you, thank you 💙 This particular album ‘the dream chapter: eternity’ holds a particularly special place in my heart just because of how it so perfectly encapsulates those feelings of chaos and confusion when you’re in that period between youth and adulthood. The album came out right around the time Covid started so those themes felt even more applicable and the album brought be a lot of comfort.
On another note it’s interesting how you were trying to determine the genre of CYSM, and I’m honestly not too sure myself but what I can say is on their previous tours they perform a rock version where they really emphasise those rock elements and it’s AMAZING - I’m really hoping one day Big Hit will upload it to Spotify so I can listen to it whenever.
I hope you can check out their latest comeback ‘Deja Vu’ its become one of my fav title tracks from them - I think you’ll really like the emotions and message behind the song.

All throughout their discography their stories are about a coming of age so they might have done a variety of genres, but their overall story, it's a very cohesive one which I always appreciate. Thanks for reacting, it's exactly what they want to portray😊

Thank you for continuing your reactions to TxT. This comeback happened just as Covid hit and they were forced to perform without live audiences which could be a reason for the different camera work done. They generally promote the title and the coupling b side, one they perform live and one is pre-recorded for broadcast. Both songs are usually done in front of a live audience, it is just a very long day for the members and MOA. They release behind the scenes to parts of their comebacks. I look forward to watching more of your reactions.

I'm still just a little ways in but I needed to pause to say that yes, it's meant to be unsettling, that emotional reaction is exactly what they were aiming for 😁
I love that they spend the video flipping back and forth between cheerful scenes and horrifying ones, often showing the same action in both.
I'll restart the video, but just in case you never notice it: at some point, pause the part of the dance where they turn their backs on "who's a liar" and look closely 😁
Edit: you got it! That's the song exactly. Growing up sometimes means growing apart and it hurts.
