Ateez! Inception is such an amazing song. Easily top 5 K-pop songs in general. Vocals and production are top notch. When I first heard Inception, I had it on repeat for days.
Also, although the the hook says ‘I’m in love’, it is not necessarily talking about romantic love. The double meaning lyrics are genius. And romantic love is definitely not what the video portrays although it is fine to view it that way. Granted there is an entire short film that came out with Inception.
Betcha that people that have never heard either song will have the Inception hook stuck in their head after watching this…
I thought the same, if you don't know the lore you would think it's love right away. Which can be like you said. But it was about the loneliness, the isolation, not being enough and loss.

Ateez came from a small company, they werent as big as today that time, (including budgets for music video and other things) but they're always making sure to put 1000% live performance, vocals, dance, stage presences and even face expressions on stage everywhere they go.. now they made it to Coachella and will be performing in Mawazine as well.. groups like Ateez and Seventeen are always amaze me😢❤ they really work sooo hard and made it on top after years of hardwork, I cant imagine what they'll be in the future❤

TXT! This song is one of their best in my opinion
I can see how the concept of Inception’s MV doesn’t necessarily agree with the song. TXT and Ateez lore are pretty similar in the way they’re consumed, but different in the way they tell it. Both give you small parts of a bigger picture. However TXT’s MVs are like small stories in one big book that connects them together, whereas Ateez’s MVs are only pieces to an overarching puzzle of a storyline. So I understand why some of their MVs can be a little confusing. Ateez and their writers have a knack for portraying songs that seem one way on a surface level but is actually deeper (and sometimes more haunting) the more you look and listen, and although Inception is indeed a love song, in relation to the MV, it seems more like the lyrics portray them longing for dreams that have been lost and they are unable to find that place again. Thank you for reacting! And I hope you guys check out more of Ateez’s music (and more TXT I feel like you guys would also appreciate them) they have SO MUCH to offer.
