First of all...Awesome finds! I recently "finished" my "Dark Phoenix" run...but then learned about "Phoenix: The Untold Story" from 1984 and only then did I consider the story arc complete. Now it seems (with that great $350 purchase) you must complete the entire Phoenix Saga from Uncanny X-Men 101-128...which is what I'm currently doing as well. Good Luck!

I was lucky enough to have been a teenager when the dark phoenix storyline came out. You couldn’t wait a whole month for the next book to come out. But we did. I’m glad you finished the set. Not as cheap as when l got it though!😂 Imagine only paying 40 cents each for those books except for issue 137 at 75 cents. Congrats my friend!

The wedding of Dock Ock and Aunt May in ASM #131: whacky yet in the context of the story it made sense, and it was fun; in fact, that was a fun Spidey era. That DD #3 is far outside my price range but it would be an honour just to hold it. I never go anywhere without my list of comics that I need, and because it's on paper it never needs a re-charge. Doctor Strange is one of my favourite Marvel characters and those early Marvel Premiere issues have beautiful art: Frank Brunner, Jim Starlin, P. Craig Russell and especially Barry Windsor-Smith. I'm a Squadron Supreme fan too Mike and highly recommend Mark Gruenwald's 1985 maxiseries and the Graphic Novel "Death Of A Universe" (hard to find however). Uncanny X-Men #133: billed as "Wolverine cuts loose", and boy does he ever. One reason stands out for me when I think about why that era of Uncanny X-Men is so good: the stability of the creative team. Not only was it Claremont writing and Byrne on pencils but almost without fail Terry Austin inked Byrne, Glynis Oliver did the colours and Tom Orzechowski did the lettering. These were arguably the best creators in their category at the time and they were at the top of their game too, so readers knew they were getting a quality comic every month. I'm not much into slabs either, the few I have hold sentimental value (Kull And The Barbarians #1) or are uncommon (Red Circle Sorcery #7), but I wouldn't pass up a great deal like the Uncanny X-men #101 slab. And congratulations on completing your Dark Phoenix run and getting some other great comics as well.

I love your channel because I truly feel like you collect just like I do which is the love of the actual stories! I also am putting together the Uncanny X-Men run of 94-300. This year I made huge strides completing it. My 1st ever comic I bought with my own money was Uncanny X-Men 212 so I had that all the way to 300 from my youth. A family member of mine succumbed to addiction a few years back and had stolen my 266. Well I was able to get a new copy and it kicked off me aggressively completing the run now as of today I only have 1 issue to go to have the whole 94-300 run. I also got a graded CGC 8.0 101 3 weeks ago for a great price now all I have left is 100. I'm going to now take my time and buy the very best copy possible for a good price. I hope you keep completing the whole run too and look forward to seeing you pick up more great books!!

I agree the CGC copy of X-Men #101 6.0 you bought. Looks better then the 7.5. I've bought/traded for about a dozen? CGC comics in the last year. I've noticed some CGC graded comics I've seen for sale on eBay. Some of the higher graded copies of the exact same book I got. Looked much lower grade then the copies I've either did some trading to get. Or simply bought or a little of both. I'm no fan of CGC myself never have been. Unless i's a Golden Age big title/ultra rare title. Or early silver or bronze age first issue, first appearance or major key story. I think getting any comics graded that are not at least a 8.5 and up is a waste of money. I've gotten in trades like two silver age titles. CGC graded as 7.0. I've compared them to many other CGC higher graded copies of the same issue in similar condition. I saw some at 8.0 or 8.5 in much worse condition then my 7.0 copies. No missing staples, missing Value Stamps, ticks, dings, dents or discoloring/writing either. So I think CGC is way over rated as a grader of comics. I started grading comics around 1976 for my local comic book store. Those guys taught me well. Also on doing simple easy repairs for those issues missing value stamps, pages and repairing/replacing staples too.

Hope you had nice christmas days. Another great video. Love your content. What happened to the 2000 subcribers giveaway, anyway?
