Overall "Charlie Work" is probably the best episode, all this time it's Charlie that's the only one that truly cares about the pub staying open. Also the episode has great transitions in between door shots that make it appear to be a single frame. The transitions are seamless in the episode so you see everything Charlie has to deal with daily with no interruptions.

They refuse to acknowledge his potential and would rather bring him down and make him feel like a piece of shit because the rest of the gang are HIGHLY flawed individuals and cant stand him as a person flourishing.
Not getting credit at the end fits with the idea that he's actually saved the bar (and by extension, stopped them all from getting arrested for all the questionable stuff they've done in it) dozens if not hundreds of times, but they(except Frank) were too stupid to realize it, and that this is the first time we've seen actual charlie work.

Charlie clearly suffers from adhd, dyslexia, and possibly some form of PTSD. If he was in a different environment where he got help, he could go really really far. It doesn't help that his mom is clearly off her rocker and probably has some form of OCD and severe paranoia.

This is why I love Charlie’s character is that his lifestyle is incredibly insane and not book smart for sure but he’s the most mentally adjusted to his lifestyle and is aware of other people and his own actions. It’s such a unique character and I love it
Don't forget as of the Roller Rink episode it turns out he's well off financially and is the majority owner of Paddys. Though with the gangs screwed up idea of paperwork and Mac eating contracts it's going to be hard to prove.

To be fair, they’re all assholes to one another, look how much work Mac put in losing weight and actually getting a ripped body, and the next thing you know, when he proudly presents it to the others, they barely give him any acknowledgement for his hard work
Charlie work is to me, without question the best episode of sunny. It's not what represents the show and all characters the best but the writing and production of this episode alone is so unbelievably top notch.
If you saw this episode in a vacuum you might think the show was about a quirky but generally normal janitor having to deal with a sociopathic, impulsive bunch of idiots for coworkers lol
The next 10 minutes and 12 seconds is one long take and it's impressive as hell especially when thinking that when the camera wasn't on the other actors they probably got a last minute look at the script but Charlie had to memorise the whole thing
This is the type of ambition it takes to be the GOAT of something. Just based on the degree of difficulty alone, and nothing else, you can make the argument it’s the best episode in the show, and even the best sit com episode over.
Somebody at Nintendo headquarters had to watch this scene, and every other scene with Charlie Day in it, and said to themselves "This man is the perfect candidate for Luigi."
I closed my eyes and saw this whole clip with Mario characters. Charlie is Luigi, obviously. Frank is Wario, Dee is Birdo and Mac & Dennis are both Mario.

there are plenty of cuts, just like there are in birdman, they just have to be creative about where to put them so to make it seem like there aren't any cuts.
The best part of the episode is how Charlie keeps randomly picking up the stool and slamming it against the ground, the purpose of which you only learn at the end of the episode.
This entire episode is gold but for some reason “Dennis scratched me” always sends me rolling. The defeat in mac’s voice, the concept of Dennis scratching him in anger like some kind of cat and the cartoonish scratch marks I always lose it
I absolutely love how she begs to keep the stool out but Charlie says no then she brings the stool back out and says “I changed my mind about the stool”
For me this episode was one of the best because it showed some of Charlie’s best qualities while also making you wonder why the hell he can’t be this efficient and direct all the time.
So I just finished watching this episode and I feel confident in saying it's not only the best episode of It's Always Sunny I've watched yet, but possibly one of the best episodes I've watched of anything EVER. Everyone got a moment or 2 to shine (Mac with the moans and perfectly timed "sorry", Frank and the recorder in the basement, Dee with the stool (both of them), and Dennis with...well, I think you can guess). But Charlie...Charlie fucking Kelly/Day...KILLED it. Credit to everyone in front of and behind the camera for this hilarious, impressive, and super fun 23 minutes of perfection.
The one shot take of Charlie doing charlie work to get a good grade is TOP TIER. Sometimes I wonder what Charlie would have been capable of if he had a healthy upbringing 💀 I mean this guy somehow learned to play the piano without knowing how to read

They did this whole episode in a "single shot"...Like Birdman...Charlie is beyond brilliant and the crew made it a hilarious episode...One of Sunny's best!
You can tell theres cuts when they move from inside to outside or vice versa.

there are plenty of cuts, just like there are in birdman, they just have to be creative about where to put them so to make it seem like there aren't any cuts.

The best part of the episode is how Charlie keeps randomly picking up the stool and slamming it against the ground, the purpose of which you only learn at the end of the episode.
This entire episode is gold but for some reason “Dennis scratched me” always sends me rolling. The defeat in mac’s voice, the concept of Dennis scratching him in anger like some kind of cat and the cartoonish scratch marks I always lose it
Charlie is the "Birdman" of this episode.
I absolutely love how she begs to keep the stool out but Charlie says no then she brings the stool back out and says “I changed my mind about the stool”
For me this episode was one of the best because it showed some of Charlie’s best qualities while also making you wonder why the hell he can’t be this efficient and direct all the time.
So I just finished watching this episode and I feel confident in saying it's not only the best episode of It's Always Sunny I've watched yet, but possibly one of the best episodes I've watched of anything EVER.
Everyone got a moment or 2 to shine (Mac with the moans and perfectly timed "sorry", Frank and the recorder in the basement, Dee with the stool (both of them), and Dennis with...well, I think you can guess). But Charlie...Charlie fucking Kelly/Day...KILLED it.
Credit to everyone in front of and behind the camera for this hilarious, impressive, and super fun 23 minutes of perfection.
