    Being a semi-auto ,after about the 4th or 5h round , the chamber is getting warm to hot. Thus , when the next round sits in that chamber, the more the brass heated up....Then the powder warms up. Causing the round to hit higher.

      Ryi762 no, the gas system weather it be piston, gas trap, or direct impingement there won't be any difference, why? because the gas system has nothing to do with your chamber, your gas system operates your bolt so it can eject and pick up your cartridge, your chamber holds the cartridge in the barrel along with the bolt or slide

    I also use that Specwar 762 suppressor. All my 5.56, 300 BLK and 308 rifles are fitted with their matching quick release muzzle devices, so I can move the suppressor around from gun to gun. This big device is still among the very quietist of all rifle suppressors, and can be used for both 5,56 or 7.62. What you hear mostly in this video is the supersonic shock wave of the bullet. With subsonic 300 BLK the loudest sound is the cycling of the gun parts. Makes shooting more fun.

      Caleb Triplett The first part of his comment isn’t ignorant at all. Shooting accurately is not rocket science. But to say it’s as simple as aim shoot adjust repeat, well... Yea that qualifies as pretty damn ignorant. Especially when it comes to shooting targets at 200+ yards. That said, when one has a solid understanding of the fundamentals of shooting accurately and the number of different factors that can contribute to the various reasons for errant rounds, much of shooting does become a function of aim, shoot, adjust repeat. The amount of practice it takes to get to that point is what most can’t appreciate. On a different note, the video captures some really cool shockwaves while he’s shooting.

      +Mocky Speed of sound varies based on a lot of factors (medium, temperature, etc), but is usually around 1100fps at sea level. That .308 is travelling at about 2700 fps, so more than double the speed of sound.
      I think MLGesus was talking about the delay between when visual confirmation of the round striking occurs and when the sound finally travels back to the recorder. Kind of like watching fireworks and having the boom "lag" behind.

      He wasn't using subsonic ammunition. The silencer kept the noise down for him but the bullet was still sound-barrier-snapping loud.

    Thats called a Freedom Rifle, as are all others in our country's great time of need. Lots of good spirit on here, with people asking questions and others helping them get some answers. Really no question about firearms is to small or insignificant.

      Ryan CHRISTOPHER That is exactly why I came watch hickock45 shoot this rifle - even if it is a short range shoot with a custom rig - I am not partial to the AR-15 because the round it fires is not versatile and the .223 is illegal for deer and other types of game in many areas of the country. This AR10 is overkill for home-defense but would serve as a last line of defense and is suitable for hunting and the round is a great round - all around. I really, really like the AR10.

    • @ryanchristopher7628
      @ryanchristopher7628 9 лет назад +1

      i understand what ur saying but i do like the ar15 and the ar10 however the home defense u talk about i think its perfict for home defense if the goverment is knocking on ur door

    • @brandonb.288
      @brandonb.288 9 лет назад +3

      Ryan CHRISTOPHER Of course, haha, in a SHTF scenario this would be a go-to gun. I meant in a typical intruder scenario that this would be overkill and have serious potential for overpenetration. I also like the AR15 - I was just stating that the round it fires (.223/5.56) was developed to "maim" on the battlefield because more resources are expended by the enemy to save a maimed person rather than an eliminated target. The AR10 with .308 is perhaps the best all-around choice for a centerfire rifle. I think with an AR10, 12guage, a 22LR and a 45ACP or 9mm pistol a person would pretty much have the basic spectrum of uses covered. I don't think shots past 1000 yds are necessary - if so, you are in serious trouble and get a .338 lapua, haha.

    I would just like to say I love these videos but I would also like to know some specs on this AR10. I am currently looking into building something like this, may not be exact since suppressors are not legal in Iowa, but something close. We are in the middle of trying to get suppressors legalized so fingers crossed.=)

    I have watched videos where Hickok45 hit those 200 yard targets with a 1911 and or with Foster slugs, I am not going to be surprised if he nails everything on his range with that rifle.

      Muffin even if you're from the UK (like I am), you can still shoot guns if you want to. there are small bore rifle clubs that you can go to if you want to give it a try.

      No, the RUclips gun channels have good shooters that make it look easy the same way an artist makes drawing look easy. It takes lots of practice to get as good as they are. It's always fun though!

    • @antthomas7916
      @antthomas7916 7 лет назад

      Yes and no. It depends on a couple variables, such as what you're shooting, if the sights are zeroed in, the range in which you are from your target, etc. Its still not easy but imo, its not hard to progress quickly for the most part. But, just like anything, some people take to it quicker and its all about practice, etc.

    I know i'm not Hickok, but he did recommend buying a .357 Magnum revolver as a 'first' revolver. Something in a size of a S&W K-frame (Model 13, Model 19, Model 65, Model 66 etc.). You can shoot low-powered .38 Special in it instead of .357 Magnum as a break-in. The first gun I've ever shot was a S&W 67-1 .38 Special revolver, a K-frame, weighs nicely, shoots nicely and recoils nicely. Able to produce groups for a first time shooter that amazed the range owners .

    • @CertifiedSunset

      5.56 is enough for most deer hunting, .308 is if you wanna take a step up and go like elk or moose hunting. Yah know, the bigger game.

    • @daskiier
      @daskiier 7 лет назад +2

      Bryson Wilkinson check your states regulations before you make your final decision. In VA it is legal to hunt with a semi auto weapon but unlawful to use anything under .23 caliber therefore making 5.56/.223 illegal. Just a thought.
