- Hi All,
As a big rainbowfish fan I believe one of the most underrated rainbows out there is the Turquoise Rainbowfish.
These fish show off some stunning blues, greens and cyan and are a super hardy species that needs some extra care to continue to exist.
Hope this helps.

Thank you thank you for mentioning the Celsius AND farenheight. It’s something that most RUclipsrs look over. You rock
👌
I’ve got 3 in my 75 gallon rainbowfish tank. They are easily the stars of the tank. I’m a sucker for blue colored fish and they’ll flare against my kamaka and praecox rainbows to deliver this amazing light show
Hmmmm now I think I need to add these to my tank with the Celebes. That would look so pretty 😍
You should!
they are a beautiful rainbow fish 🐟
Thank You Blake for another amazing video!!
I'm still on my wish list of fish to keep when I get some more room! These are at the top of the list 😍
I appreciate the species profile and care guide for taking care of these beautiful fish!!
It's really neat how they change colors throughout the day!! Definitely a fun and interesting fish to watch 😎and they eat duck weed too 😁
win win!!💪
Hope you and your family are having a wonderful week!! Thanks for sharing!!🌿🐟🌿🙏💚
Super cool fish.
Lovin the background music 🎵🎶
Always knocking it out man!
terrific rainbow
This lake is my area..Lake Kutubu home of this rainbow fish.. our native name for it is "Adtiare".
Nice set of information!
What do you call the really dark almost black rainbows you have in this tank?? They’re beautiful! Never seen those before🫣
I think they are really dark red irian rainbows.
Wow those red fish in the video are stunning! What are they? Im loving your videos! ❤️🇦🇺
Odessa barbs 😄
Thank you 😊
Does the brown/ copper on the forehead mean anything?
Thanks for the info, hope to keep such pretty fish one day!
Unrelated question, do you have any advice re: dwarf gourami tank mates? There's surprisingly not a whole lot of info on RUclips.
Huge amount of options out there. More fish that are compatible than not really
@@BlakesAquatics thanks for the quick reply! What about multiple dwarf gurami together?
@@snowyk94 ive done it before. It works either 1 or 3+
Just a quick question? Will they eat my cherry shrimp
Yes they will
Would you keep these rainbow fish with Amano
shrimp?
I wouldnt no, the shrimp will be eaten
hi blake what fish would you recommend for a australian monster fish biotope.
Good question. Snakehead gudgeons would be the first fish id put in. If they coexist id also put in a saratoga. Biotopes are one of those things I cant just name off the cuff because they are so intricate
Hello, thinking about starting my first planted 75g tank with rainbow fish i had ciclids for 2yrs..starting all over but thinking about using the eco complete planted substrate with the eco complete black sand for the cap. Will the PH be to high for those fish with the dirt and sand from eco complete?
eco complete should lower the ph not raise it, I would give it a good time to stabilise before adding fish, after a few months then test the ph and youll be able to make a more informed decision.
I have a pair but the male is becoming the tank bully. Any advice?
That can happen. Plenty of line of sight barriers is best. If you dont have plants just float a bunch of mops
Did I hear you correctly saying it would be 3-4 months before they're big enough for baby brine shrimp?
Indeed
Are these safe with ghost shrimp?
No they love eating shrimp
😂
I have 6 of these and they hate me. I’m not sure why. They just stare at me and hover around the front of the tank all the time, facing outwards. 🤷🏽♀️
@@kategrant5024 mine nip at my hand when I put it in the tank even if I don't have food, they'll eat right out of my hand
i never had any luck with these they just keep dying in my tank, i have other species of rainbows that are doing well but not with these. any suggestions?
They do require different water params to other rainbows. If you can source from a local breeder that helps
Ik this video is a bit old, but I've had 5 in my 75 gallon tank for a while now and they recently have become aggressive resulting in 1 death and another severely injured. Any suggestions?
Usually 'sparring' with rainbows mainly results in swimming around in circles. Are there any other possibilities? If not id suggest a better male to female ratio 1m:2 or 2 f
@@BlakesAquatics how can I tell male from female rainbows? They look very similar.
Can someone explain why rainbow fishes open the mouth wide at 2:58
Just stretching
Mine is super dark - almost black.
interesting, does it change across the day?
Car guide? ;P
thanks
This is an older video, but I have some teal blue rainbow fish. I have 2 males and 2 females. One of my males is getting skinny, like very skinny. I'm not sure if it's wasting away or swim bladder. How can or should I treat him?
Id treat him with one or more dewormers (not at the same time) levamisole or praziquantel
