Finished install today. CB35oG. The new CMC coils weren't a perfect fit. Mounted one on the holes in the bracket where to condenser went. That worked. Bike runs GREAT. Was sputtering and dying before, now powerful and smooth to redline. Recommended!
I just installed your shockwave ignition, coils, reg.rectifyer, plugs and boots..valve adjus,t cam chain adjust, and yellow to white wiring upgrade .. Your videos are very helpful!! ....after 40 mile test ride im impressed... great product ... brought the bike back to life .. THANK YOU...
I installed it and the bike is running much smoother now. The instructions & video are well very done. Now I don't have to keep re-timing the points. Thanks Brenden!
Quick delivery, easy install for a novice bike enthusiast, just follow step by step. Everyone running an old honda must strongly consider get on of these. Upgraded my purchase with recommended extras. Do it right the first time. Running smoothly now. CB450 74model.
I've got the shockwave for my cb360t and all the other. New coils and so on. Everything you said to get. Heck all the elec. is new. including the harness. Going to wait till I get finished reassembling bike after tank, panels ect are back from paint dude. I have new points from you guys and a backup set because I try to keep backups on everything if possible. I also know the quality I get from CM. I'll get her running and tuned in with the points and then add the shockwave this winter when it's too cold to go out.
Question: Since the original trigger cam is retained, how do the electronic sensors trigger? Are the Shockwave sensors induction-triggered by the proximity of the cam lobe apex? Or is there some other strange magic happnin?
Thanks for the video, that ignition would make a great upgrade on my CB250k for sure. I have one question: Are your coils 5ohm or 3.5ohm coils? Thanks and thank you for all your tech videos on the 350s!
Regarding the Advancer discussion at the 3:00 mark, my 1975 CB360 has a "369" advancer and has no baseplate notch like the one shown in the video. Is there another method to determine if the cam is installed 180 degrees out (other than "bike won't run")?
I put a 360 in a 350 frame. I had to spread the down tubes about 3/4 of an inch. Otherwise, all else went well. Turned out not to be a great improvement. I did that way back in 1979. I always wondered why Honda bothered with a 10cc increase. It made no sense to me.
Hey CMC I figured I would ask this here in case any one else was wondering this as well. Are there any plans or possibilities of us seeing a electronic advance version or add on in the future?
Hello everybody I need to install an electronic kit like this on my Honda CB 125 twin model 1976 If you can help me to have some informations and the exact reference of the kit. Thank you
Hi, just received your Shockwave for my CB350 and starting to assemble. I have been using a pair of Dyna mini coils that are 3 ohm. Will they work with the electronic ignition or will I have to replace with coils of a higher ohm rating?
Why doesn't Common-Motor Collective simply assemble the unit for the customer before shipping? That would eliminate a lot of the possibility of error inflicted by the person buying and installing the unit.
Hey, I have kind of a zebra 1970CA175k3 and I was thinking about doing the electric ignition thang. With a 6volt battery I'm not sure if a lot of the products available will be compatible. Can you point me in any direction?
Hi we have a cb250 76 model. And it's all the same with cb360 from the engine designs and others stuff the only difference is the size of the block of cb360. May i ask if this shockwave will be compatible to our cb250 if we replace our contact points? Thankyou in advance!
Reach out to our support on our website, one of our staff can dive into the compatibility there with you. It’s going to mostly come down to if the points plate fits or not.
You guys are very hard to reach. I tried to call the number on the instruction page, but it is an old number that has been disconnected. I received my ignition about a week ago, and have been unable to start the bike since. Very difficult to set timing without three hands. I buttoned up the covers and replaced the tank, then l pushed the bike back into the corner. Maybe l will put the points back in and run it that way. PLEASE, give my a help line number.
@@Common-motor wow another fast reply from CMC you guys never cease to amaze me with your top notch customer service. Keep up the good work! I look forward to picking one of these kits up before spring :)
@@James_Sovereign I have been running the shockwave this summer on my cb360 and it has works very well. I haven't had any issues or noticed any massive difference in performance over the pamco unit. It is a very nice kit and definitely worth the money. I have been running it with the ricks stator and cmc's regulator/rectifier for the charging system and 2 dyna 5ohm coils. It is a more "polished" product than Pete's and i really feel better about the longevity of the unit considering all the electronics are potted to protect them from the elements.
Does this ingnitionsystem also work on CB 250 G Models? Ingnition and the chrankshaft and gearbox housing should be the same style right? Greets from CH 🇨🇭
Why didn't you let Brenden talk for this whole video?? He's great! I couldn't even watch the whole video cause I couldn't stand listening to this guy drone on.

Haha, I was just working on my 450 and heard that voice, knew it instantly.
I’m buying your shockwave product because of your pairing of your parts offerings with install videos

Interested to hear feedback on it!
Yeah definitely let us know what you think.
it is utterly fantastic.

Bought this about 3 months ago for my 450. Finally installing it tomorrow! Will report back.
I am waiting for my shockwave to arrive so I can follow these instructions for installation.
We're making them as fast as possible! The Shockwaves fly out to door currently the second they're in it!
Good luck.
The Shockwave works great. Way better than points
I been wanting to upgrade my CB350 to electronic ignition and this looks very interesting. Awesome vid guys!

Nope, as there is no need for one.
I’d love to upgrade the CB350 but I’m not sure I can tackle the job lol. Timing isn’t the problem but the wiring is gonna be my problem.

Where is the detailed timing link?

The owner before me stripped out the timing advance shaft threads. Can this be tapped and rethreaded?
hmm you can always send us some photos via our website support and we can take a look..I have no idea without seeing it.
Tried to order today super frustrating your order form keeps rejecting my email.
Hey will this work with the cb500t?? If not could you point me in the right direction. Thanks
I might sound dumb but only one of these are needed for the cb350?
Have you guys though of making a version of this for cb175's?
We have been doing some heavy duty R&D on a 175 over the past few months. Expect a lot of products to come down the line later this year!

Fantastic guide!
Is there any possibility of creating a Shockwave for the CB100/CB175 family of bikes?
Common Motor only makes products for CB 350/360, 450 and 550 twins.
Yes currently those are the only bikes we support and we haven't had an opportunity to try/ test our shockwave on the cb100/ cb175 family of bikes.
