  • This video features Preston and Beretta the Labrador learning to shed hunt for whitetail deer antlers this spring. Beretta is only around 1 year old without any formal training, but were taking it step by step and showing you what we did a long the way. Whitetail shed hunting is a very difficult thing and becoming very popular. Having a second set of eyes and feet to cover more turf can only help when your searching your land for that white gold.
Stay tuned next week for part 2.

I have a border terrier and her name is Kimber. I am going to try to train her to shed hunt as one of our personal activities.

Had a lot of helpful tips! Really appreciate it. I am currently training a 6 month old black lab to find sheds. She is doing extremely well on the retrieving but were working on the searching.

How's the training going? We just picked up a black lab/bluetick hound mix from the pound. He's 4 months old and we started training yesterday

@@tristandesforges5798 shes doing extremely well. She is finding antlers that i hide in the woods very easily. It helped a lot giving her a treat after each time she finds one, it keeps her very motivated. We could probably wean her off the treat, but i like giving her one when she finds the antler😊. I hope your training goes well!
