- This video features Preston and Beretta the Labrador learning to shed hunt for whitetail deer antlers this spring. Beretta is only around 1 year old without any formal training, but were taking it step by step and showing you what we did a long the way. Whitetail shed hunting is a very difficult thing and becoming very popular. Having a second set of eyes and feet to cover more turf can only help when your searching your land for that white gold.
Stay tuned next week for part 2.

I have a border terrier and her name is Kimber. I am going to try to train her to shed hunt as one of our personal activities.
only video i could find to help!!
It’s very hard. Still not a pro with this pup
Had a lot of helpful tips! Really appreciate it. I am currently training a 6 month old black lab to find sheds. She is doing extremely well on the retrieving but were working on the searching.
Also beautiful lab! Looks like shes doing well.
How's the training going? We just picked up a black lab/bluetick hound mix from the pound. He's 4 months old and we started training yesterday
@@tristandesforges5798 shes doing extremely well. She is finding antlers that i hide in the woods very easily. It helped a lot giving her a treat after each time she finds one, it keeps her very motivated. We could probably wean her off the treat, but i like giving her one when she finds the antler😊. I hope your training goes well!
@@samanthasipla203 awesome! Glad to hear it's going well for you. And thanks! Our pup is leaning quickly. Treats are definitely his motivator too lol
@@tristandesforges5798 no problem! Glad he's doing well!
