Parker 65 Custom Insignia fountain pen in 12ct RG with a Parker 14k 585 semi hooded nib. This is the Mk III version from circa 1960-70s in lovely condition.
Thanks for the review. This is a beautiful fountain pen with a great nib.
Thank you, Stef. Very elegant.
Thanks Anzan.
Dear Stef,
I would watch your videos for hours. I do not care about repetitions, I always watch them twice or three times, so if some kind of Fountain Pen would appear several times, that would be a pleasure, like meeting once more an acquaintance. In the case of Parker 65, there were other videos of yours as well, but, as I said, while this one is about an Insignia, the others were different and good to see too.
The pen in the video is really nice and it has that aerodynamic shape that I like so much, as it reminds me of a swallow.
The grey jewels, in my opinion, are preferable to the metallic ones, as they are more evocative than metallic terminations.
The nib is not a common one, it looks very differently from a classical nib, but it is very nice and demonstrates the effort of the designers to create something appropriate to the fashion of that time. This example shows clearly that a major Manufacturer like Parker was able to create as well an immortal model like Parker 51, as several models that shined and extinguished with transiency. However, my intention was not to denigrate the Parker 65, but I wished to underline that while Parker 51 is an emblematic pen, the Parker 65 looks to me as being a very nice Parker pen, showing the well known Parker attributes, but not being really a symbol.
You said that this pen is a good daily writer. Of course it is, but, in my case, there would be a pleasure to look at my image in the mirror holding that pen in hand.
About your way of making the presentation, I was thinking that it was not possible to improve something, but I can see each time that you come with unexpected improvements. Well, congratulations for that!
Thank you for the video. As it is late in the night, I would take the Parker 65 you shown in this video with me in my dreams!
Best Regards
Anton-Mihai
Im glad you enjoy them Anton, thanks for watching.

Stef! Have you ever been to japan tokyo? I am traveling there now, just amazing! Lots of lovely pens in japan. Recommending!
Yes i spent quite some time in Japan and all over the world, unfortunately that was before i got the pen bug. Its a shame otherwise i would now have some nice pens now. Thanks.
Thanks Stef , does the gold finish on the cap and barrel have a pattern or is it smooth as its seemed to have a pattern, might be my eyes.
Very nice pen lovely nib.
Patterned.
Hey, I just bought Parker 65 fountain pen rolled gold with 18k solid gold.
The cap band is marked with Parker arrow logo and Parker pp symbol. The imprint on it reads "PARKER DOUBLE OR LAMINE MADE IN ENGLAND. In what year the pen was introduced ? Is it 1967? And Is double Or Laminé stamp mean the base metal substrate is covered with gold on both sides?
I have to say i have not come across this imprint "Parker double or Lamine Made in England" on a Parker 65. Sorry i cant help.
