8:23 Boone actually IS the person who killed his wife. He wasnt searching for anyone but himserl. He had a choice between seeing his wife and child go into slavery and sniping them and saving them years of misery. As a result, his hatred of the legion has given him the skills of aimbot ruining the days of any legionaire within a mile radius.

I find Joshua to be a little overrated. Just a little, but moreso than that is i think people get him entirely wrong. The point of the DLC is that he is still evil at heart and people seem to buy into this sweet redemption of his. I think the point is about forgiveness in general from others, but that doesn't change that he himself is still a slave to his old ways in the end, at least without the best of Courier intervention.

Say what you want about Caesar, he's a smart man, and to call him dumb or average intelligence is simply foolish. Dino's human history well, the legion is constantly outsmarting the NCR and he even calls out factions like the brotherhood for their true faults.
It seems like every dude gets S tier. While funny or nice characters like arcade and Veronica get A tier. Despite having so much you can do with them and so much personality.

Hanlon doesn't lie to win, he literally tries to lose the war quickly and efficiently to minimise the human cost specialy on the rangers side
Boone is far more than an edgelord. He's torn by the way Bitter Spring affected him and turn his anger against the legion after what happen to his wife. All the marked quest is about helping him to take stock about his situation. But if you push him to violence, at the end, you find out that Bitter Spring turned him into a psychopath who just love killing.
Dean is very interesting because he really looks like a sucker (and he's) but once you manage to build a good relationship with him you realise that he can be kinda sweet and actually does care about people who matters to him. This fact is accentuated on his end if you manage to save him (that's the hardest part of the dlc) when you find that he regrets having done that to Vera.
Raul is the best companion, S tier, his back story, his voice lines, his voice, his personality, trully the best
Love Ulysses, he's my favorite character. Funny thing is that, he should have been the main character, the main protagonist in this war. And he's the main reason why in love the dlc. Just because you learn so much about the one who trapped you (the real one, or at least the 1st one) how much your fate and his are bound. And I love how his story ended if you spared him. I really feel thoses dlc and the "persuit" of Ulysses like the true main quest of the game.

He read a lot of books and deducted that his way of bringing the civilisation is the best. It's not the best but it is certainly smart and effective. He is a very smart man and he is irreplaceable head of the Legion. You need to talk to him mmore.

I gotta say, I’m surprised Mr. House didn’t make it into S tier. He’s confident, pragmatic, incredibly intelligent, and has a solid plan for the advancement of humanity. Kind of reminds me of Tony Stark. I tend to like the House ending the most, in large part just due to the sheer force of his personality.
Also, I feel like Vulpes Inculta deserves at least to make it into D tier, if not C. Beyond being your first introduction to the Legion’s brutality in most playthroughs, he’s also the one who sends you to go see Caesar after you exit the Lucky 38.

    • @FitzgeraldStanburyWeissV

He's not anywhere near as likeable as Tony Stark... wdym? Mr House is overrated asf. He's interesting to a point, in terms of what he did and what you can help him do to run New Vegas, but he's not interesting beyond that and I don't see how he's anything more than a charismatic douchebag.

    • @tygonmaster
      @tygonmaster Год назад +7

Yeah, I would personally put House into S tier. If you go deep into questioning him and stuff, you learn all about his ideology, his past, his views on mankind and how to progress, etc. The whole lore about him protecting Vegas when the bombs dropped, his plan for space travel, the way he united bands of raiders. It is all pretty interesting and when you grill him on his views, he actually gives pretty compelling arguments for them, even if you don't agree with them....unlike Caesar in my opinion whom I feel is kind of just a murderer with no real plan for the future or, well, anything....but anyway. House is certainly a less "likeable" character than Joshua, but I think seeing him as a scheming businessman is kind of selling him short.
I think the main issue with Vulpes is he is just kind of "there." He blindly follows out Caesar's ideology and brutal oppression of anyone that does not fall in line. I give him points for the shock value when you first talk to him and see the carnage he caused, but him as a character he is pretty one note. He is a zealot. He kills stuff and spreads fear. Kinda...eh. You don't even talk to him much. Yeah, D maybe C if you are feeling generous. I would say D. It is kind of along the lines of "the legion is interesting if only as a band of insane murderers" rather than Vulpes. He is just kind of an extension of that.

Here is a complete breakdown of everything you said that is wrong or stupid:
    1. It's Kimball, not Kamball.
    2. First "Who?" is Billy Knight, the comedian you recruit for the Tops.
    3. Caesar is portrayed as highly intelligent, proven by how he built the Legion from nothing by leading a small and weak tribe to glory in a hostile environment with many bigger tribes around.
    4. Hanlon is a very complex character whose tragic story spells out all of the NCR's mistakes in their attempted annexation of the Mojave.
    5. Christine got an S-Tier placement despite you misremembering most of her story. She is on a black op to find Elijah and Dean Domino was the one to do surgery on her for his own agenda. You also didn't touch on her connection to Veronica at all.
    6. Chris Haversam is a central part of the Repconn quest and has a lot of dialogue, especially if you convince him that he's not a ghoul and then convince him to help Jason Bright anyway and move to Novac afterwards.
    7. The NCR lady you mistook for Mags from Camp Gold is actually Colonel Moore, the quest giver for most of the NCR's storyline.
    8. Boone killed his wife.
    9. Hanlon is not responsible for the Bitter Springs massacre and likely wasn't sabotaging intel 3 years ago.
    10. Dean Domino was not trapped at the Sierra Madre and could have left at any time prior to getting collared. He stayed because of his obsession with the Sierra Madre and also the uncertainty of the world outside.
    11. The man you mistook for Bruce Isaac is Crocker from the NCR embassy on the strip, the quest giver for the first quests of the NCR's storyline.
    12. The backstory of Doc Mitchell is connected to Vault 21.
    13. This one is more subjective, but calling Dog/God the weakest out of the Dead Money cast is so wrong I had to include it. God especially is a very well-written and menacing character, Dog has some nice callbacks to the OG games and the two of them have more varied endings than any of the other Dead Money cast.
    14. The paladin is called Hardin, Lorenzo is a knight that is involved in the Brotherhood's questline. Hardin's personality is supposed to be that of a more militant and direct leader as opposed to McNamara's hesitant approach.
    15. The Van Graffs have a ton of backstory and lore that you can find out about from Gloria. They are also pretty menacing, with both of them being called psychopaths by the other Freeside residents. I think they fulfill their role as minor antagonists pretty well. Also, you do have to talk with Jean-Baptiste for the latter part of their questline involving Cass.
    16. Joshua Graham's story is only about redemption if you want it to be. Throughout the dlc, he comes very close to going back to his warlord mentality, using his religious beliefs as a shield to hide behind. If you let him execute Salt-Upon-Wounds, it is insinuated that he becomes more depraved than he ever was as Legate.
    17. The Far Beyond is on earth, not in space.
    18. You did actually remember Jean-Baptiste's name. Since you remember his name and position, he should not be in the "Who?" tier.
    19. "John Nash" is called Johnson Nash.
    20. Lily is not similar to Rex and her story serves as a nice little allegory for Alzheimer.
    21. Nobark talks about invisible chupacabras, not sasquatches.
    22. Pacer is not stated to covet the King's position.
    23. Papa Khan and Salt-Upon-Wounds are not very similar, since Papa Khan is the leader of a tribe of mostly drug dealers and can be reasoned with, while Salt-Upon-Wounds is a pretty irredeemable raider warlord.
    24. Second "Who?" is Lem, one of the leaders of the escaped convicts in Vault 19.
    25. Cass is the leader of her late caravan, not a bounty hunter.
    26. Lonesome Road's endings mainly involve talking down or killing Ulysses and stopping or not stopping either one of the nukes. I am unsure how you can lose to or tie with Ulysses.
    27. Veronica never leaves the Brotherhood before the events of the game. She is actively fulfilling her role as a supply runner and scout at Trading Post 188 when you meet her.
    28. Vulpes Inculta is Caesar's most trusted Fumentarii and a very memorable character due to his mask and the impression he leaves on you at Nipton. You put him in "Who?" despite remembering him and despite him being one of the most noteworthy Legion characters.
    29. Yes-Man does think for himself, evident by the way he shows disapproval for certain choices. His programming restricts him from poperly voicing his disapproval or disobeying you.

His plan is, if reports show that the NCR are outnumbered by the other factions in the Mojave, and that they are doing poorly, then Oliver and Kimball will withdraw troops, and the innocent soldiers who don't know they're getting into a death sentence will be saved. He's lost hope in his years, it's why he can be pacified if you've killed Caesar.

-The Gomorra quest isnt weak or bad, it's a good quest. But the bosses of the casino arent that charismatic, and the fun comes from having to solve the problems keeping people in place. The quest has a cool meaning/story to it.
    - Cesar is talked about as this bigger than life character. The man to unify the East, insane bloodthirsty tyrant that people follow blindly. His backstory is actually really cool, how he came to power and how power corrupted a good man, turning him into the biggest warlord in the East. And the reson he may come across as weak is because he was made that way, for the anticlimatic realization that he isnt strong or the embodiment of the Legion's ideals, he is a dying weak old man, the heart of the legion. As opposed to the Legate who is the actual embodyment of the Legion and a good representation of "You face the Legion" kind of challenge (and the reason you fight Him and not Cesar).
    - Another good things about Julia from the followers are the negotiations you have with her, where she's not just saying yes to everything and instead thinks about the impact of things on her comunity.
-It pains me to not say Yes man is S tier with how great of a character choice he is for a "backup" ending in case you mess the other ones up. His sarcastic dialogue is awesome, his premise is cool, the way it evolves once the war is over...
I'd put Jason, Chalk boy and cloud in C and move Fantastico to B. Honest hearts companions are horrible, their story comes from a quest and is basically "i want to explore the world" and "Daniel lied to me" which are horrible stories without further development, like they set them up with an introduction or the cover, and forgot to tell you the story.
