    I cannot thank you enough for this. Skeptics here are probably forgetting that this works only when the "scratch" is an apparent paint transfer or right below the protective coating. You have saved me a lot of money, and a good beating from my dad. Thanks a ton, bud. Cheers.

    WARNING: The rough side of the sponge will leave scratches and swirl marks on your cars finish. You can’t tell by this video because the car is white. If it’s a dark color you’ll be able to see it. Use something like a micro fiber cloth if you try this method or the soft side of the sponge only.

    Use the foam side of the scrubbing pad. Afterwards, use wax to bring back the glossness of the paint.

    Toothpaste has a very fine abrasive in it thats why some companies call it tooth polish, It’s very similar to car polish but tastes much better! The only thing I wouldn’t use is a dish sponge, a rag works just as good or a polishing sponge.

    I had these same kind of scratches on a white honda accord I recently bought. I used turtle wax liquid wax and some elbow grease. Came out very nice and no more black scratches.

    tooth pase is good for bad colour head light , wipe it on let it dry use dry cloth and rub it off. it work trust me

    I used a normal sponge with toothpaste on black plastic bike fairings and i had massive scratches, after about 2 mins with toothpaste the scratches came straight out 👍🏼

    It would clean the dirt in between the scratches. It will not remove scratches.

    The old toothpaste worked like a charm, I suppose it has something to do with the grit in it to polish teeth. Used it on both silver and white cars and this did a wonderful job, thanks for the tip.

    Just don’t forget to polish the car afterwards with wax or any polishing compound of your choice to get the shine back and protect it. Toothpaste is just a super fine cutting compound that just works 👍🏻

    i use carnuba wax. all those scratches (deep or not) dissapeared plus the paint becomes shiny and smooth and it last long.

    thinner works better and most of the time the scuffs are finger paint or nail particles. never use abrasive pad unless you plan to paint after

    You used colgate and scrotch bite to basically scrub the paint off that part. It might look like the scrathes are gone but the finish of that part has also gone forever.

    It will put more scratches on car. Paint shops use these to remove the paint.

    This method works! I just tried it on my teeth, it took out all my enamel, but the WD40 replaced it temporarily! Now I have brand new teeth...called dentures

    STUPIDEST IDEA EVER why not just buy rubbing compound it's not expensive and won't leave a matte finish/damage your clear coat rubbing the ruff side of that sponge will scratch the hell out of your clear coat

The plastic bumper area near the wheel is scraped, due to scraping with another car. The paint is flaked off, I can see black color underneath just like in video. The scratches area is 2 inches long, about 3 mm wide. There is no metal or plastic cut thankfully. Do you think toothpaste will work? I am worried rental company will charge hell
