You’re either the best or luckiest mechanic ever. To remove all those rusty parts, and nothing broke ? Incredible ! Great job, and video. Thanks, RickGTI….. 🇺🇸🌴
@@Fredholm2 yes, I'm working on getting a 87 to 01 Jeep Cherokee XJ, which in my mind seems like it will be a lot of fun to drive as well, but also allows more room for transporting people and things
So funny to hear all the differences in rules for vehicle inspections. Here in the US, where they try to convince us how much the government cares about us, most every state has some sort of emissions inspections. Several states have NO safety inspections. Even in New York State (where I live) we have safety and emissions, but for safety brakes have to be metal on metal, or have pieces missing from parts to fail, suspension bushings can be completely separated and they don’t fail, ball joints have to be physically broken to fail, it’s completely ridiculous. Sorry, I am a VW tech and I loved watching this car being built. Good work!
Thank you! 😊 Interesting to hear about the different rules, seems like it's quite a bit stricter here in Norway! Although the rules are strict here, it's good to know that the cars I meet are most likely to be roadworthy
Bro Just found your channel now and sub... In my opinion when you are reviving a car and removing parts like that rear axle, just clean it and give it a spray paint at least. New Rubbers but still looking old. Great Video by the way.
Thanks, that means a lot! Yes i agree, and I regret not restoring the rear axle, and having more time before the mot appointment.. But i will do a complete restoration of the under side of the car one day😊
Realy good work you did there! 👍 Whats the name of those bushings and where did you get them? I only knew the original type, but they are a pain in the ass to press in.
Thanks man!😊 I can only imagine! I’ve only removed originals and that was bad enough! They are from a Brand called «strongflex»! Really happy with how the Car drives after swapping the bushes!
That would have been wise! I did consider it, but was in a hurry before the second MOT 😬 Also i want to do a complete resturation of the under side of the car one day😁
MK2 is the best Golf. Id love to find one here in the states that isnt a rust demon. I always wanted to do a full resto and swap in a VR6 with a turbo and a RWD conversion.
Hellow from Belarus, today i subscribe to your channel. I looked to your restoration of Golf Mk2 and I can say - You Top and best mechanic😉😅

@@Fredholm2 Thanks for the Info and keep up the great Work.
I thought you might have put Hammerite black paint protection on the rear axle while it was off?
That would have been wise! I did consider it, but was in a hurry before the second MOT 😬 Also i want to do a complete resturation of the under side of the car one day😁
When there is nothing to do on my own cars I watch videos
amazing Bro
