Utterly completely truly mesmerising .........Thank you Pam for this. Sylvie Gulliem when asked what makes a dancer replied '"it's who you are, it's who you are". Thank you Pam for reminding us of Sergei's genius, extraordinary talent and soul. You are a treasure. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

You're welcome and thank YOU for being so supportive and gracious. I am humbled and honored by such high praise. It is truly a labor of love... love and admiration... for the dancers and the dance, And finally, for a desire to in some way help capture and preserve the most fleeting of the arts. When we dance, we are not left with a painting to hang, there is no resulting sculpture to display, no song to be listened to over and over... we are left with no concrete trace of creation at all. At best, and at the mercy of others, all we can hope for are a few flickering images, a two dimensional representation of what in real life, was so much more. Video rarely does justice to the live visual experience, but it is what we have to work with. So I scour for, collect, edit, enhance and shape bits of movement and static imagery into forms that can be more easily enjoyed now and hopefully in the future. I truly enjoy the process. When a painstakingly edited video comes together like I envision, it is quite a personal thrill. Then on top of all that (and the thing that blew me away when I realized other people were noticing) there is the very kind attention and support from people all over the world. THIS has been the sugar sprinkled frosting on top of the cupcake. Totally unexpected, but oh so appreciated. I apologize for going on so , and I again thank YOU, and everyone else who not only watches, but also takes the time to let me know that my silly little projects are being enjoyed and are meaningful to others besides myself.

@@PamBoehmeSimon Your 'silly little projects' are anything but Pam. I understand how fleeting a dancer's career/performance is and that is why we should not neglect or dismiss the rare genius of dancers who somehow speak to the soul and whose performances move us. The transcendence is there, even via video. It's (again) so rare and authentic a talen. - it cannot be faked. It would be incredibly sad to allow situations which we may not have a complete reading of to cancel this so your vids are hugely appreciated. Sending you (and Sergei and family) lol. ❤💙💛💙💛💙💛❤

Thanks so much Karina, and oh my but how could I not lol... it is my favorite part. Such a sweet, tender, fleetingly innocent moment that survives the surrounding tragedy. Haha didn't mean to go all dark and dramatic. Aside from the DEATH and all, lol, this was a lot of fun to make. Tedious here and there but an enjoyable challenge.

Thank you Pam! I admire his talent. Every performance is so impressive. This spectacle is like what is going on in his real life. He is trapped. It seems to me that putin,s machine swallowed him and not let him go. Very strange. on his hands he has tattoos , on one hand Russian, on other Ukrainian. What is going in his mind is impossible to guess. Has he been lost for the West? I worry about him a lot.

What a rubbish! Polunin found a shelter in Russia. He is loved and happy here. He is preparing to the wedding with the mother of his two sons. And now he has got three tattoos with Putin. Sergey admires him.

@@ТатьянаОрганова Opinions are just that... opinions. One can not argue an opinion. While opinions will always vary and often contradict, most of the time they come from a similar base. The similar base here is our (yours, mine, and LJoyP's included) love and admiration for Sergei. He, of course, is free to follow/admire/get tattoos of whoever he pleases. I make no judgment on that account. All I, and probably 99.9% of the people here, care/worry about is his safety and happiness. If he is truly both of those things, then all is well. He would be the first one to encourage calm and courteous discussion when differences arise. After all, the world would be a really boring place if everyone thought exactly the same way. I appreciate that you took the time to visit and to comment. It is in that comment that you voiced your obvious love and concern for Sergei, and that is something we share. Thank you Tatiana.

He was injured in March 2022 and is completing his recovery from surgery for 4cm gap in his Achilles. He is based in Russia and performed in a gala there in late July. His next full length performance of his own ballets is in Tashkent in September. Followed by a tour of Russian cities of his Rasputin ballet.
