They're so rude how they try to jump the queue and then they expect people to let them back in 10 spaces forward from where they started. I love it when the queue bunches up to stop them getting in.
Same 😂
Karma.
I wouldn't be letting anyone back in lol.
@Andrew Smith so true! 😫
I would say once a few on queuing, it'll look like two lanes from way back and it's just a cascading effect. Some drivers are moving over to the left to assist this only to find it continues as 1 lane at the junction, surprisingly black cab drivers too who you'd think would know the layout.
If someone has jumped the queue in an effort to make an illegal manoeuvre, I'm certainly not letting them back into the queue in front of me.
I agree on principle but that British embarrassment of not doing the right thing wins everytime
This is one of the joys of driving
bcuz ur petty
Init I'd be like fuck you man you can wait there lol
I'm always surprised at how tolerant the other drivers are at letting them merge, despite the fact they've just jumped the whole queue.
Thanks because the world is not full of sanctimonious pricks, like your bad self!
Probably because they're not as petty as you
Yes, you're correct.
I'd leave them to rot - queue jumping idiots.
You've just identified yourself as an entitled queue jumper
No point risking getting my car hit by the driver trying to merge as you close up, karma will catch up with them eventually lol
The woman with the small child who looked both ways before crossing clearly knows that junction well!
I used to live near one way road 😅 to this say I check both ways because I've seen so many y from wrong way 😅 too many cars 😅😢
You should always look both ways crossing any road anywhere.
I've seen people who live on one way streets drive the wrong way out of their house. I'm looking both ways.
I always look both ways. It’s just ingrained in me. There’s always the risk of some tosser ignoring the rules. My neighbourhood is a lot of one way streets and it’s sadly not uncommon for drivers to just put it in reverse and race through the street backwards.
I love how so many of them don't argue. The thought of these guys knowing who you are and thinking 'Crap, he WAS there' is hilarious
They have nothing to argue over, other than being caught.

If I lived in London, I'd petition to have an official Gandalf Corner sign placed there.
Nah, that wont happen when mikey is doing the revenues for them... Jokes!
A sign for what?? To tell people not to break the law!! Everyone that cuts that corner knows what they’re doing is illegal and dangerous… I hope they raise the fines for those caught breaking all traffic laws, our roads are getting worse
A sign? There is one there already, the arrow clearly indicating the correct way to manoeuvre around this particular part of town. Which common sense says, is dangerous to not follow this directive signage, for the fact that there is a corner which has traffic from the opposite direction turning into it, let alone a pedestrian crossing. Which is why the signage has already been placed there. They need to install a permanent camera there.. it would cut this dangerous behaviour out within a few weeks (once the fines are received in the post), bar the odd unaware dangerous driver that is new in town, who doesn’t know of the fine system already in place! Did you see the pregnant lady. My goodness, I don’t even want to imagine.
A tourist sign? It'll turn into Jim Morrison's grave site or 3 Seville row. All the best regards to you 🙏
Lighten up; it's just for fun. I should have said ordinary commemorative plaque..you know....a small, unobtrusive, traditionally designed, English, historic marker. Not neon. Not day-glo. Not large. Not confusing. A nice little harmless beautiful plaque.. for you..and it wouldn't cost you anything...never mind.
We are coming to London in a couple of weeks to collect a new Brompton and Gandalf corner is on my sight seeing list 😄
How can there be so many people who willfully ignore the law? Surely anyone Intelligent enough to pass a driving test would know they are risking an accident with an oncoming vehicle or risking an accident with a pedestrian who is not expecting a vehicle to pass from the wrong direction.
They’re not intelligent
How many millions of times a week do you think the speeding law is broken
@@bb-ballistics1706 How many millions of drivers sit in traffic queues scrolling through their phones?
I think they teach them that in driving schools nowadays!
They probably know what they really doing isn’t right, but they still feel entitled to do so. “I really need to go somewhere so I’ll just jump the queue” or something.
Petition to purchase that specific traffic island
And install a massive sculpture of Gandalf on it facing the direction the offending driver’s come from slamming his staff into the ground. Make it a huge tourist attraction and in doing so make it more visible and potentially more people caught if not most prevented from doing this sort of stupid shit again!

they should re engineer the junction by extending the central island much further up the road so that the increased length will be too long for drivers to risk it.
Exactly what I thought...
Also a lot of people are making right turns so they could probably put in a right turn lane too alone with some street barriers to prevent peoplle crossing on or near the corner. Would make that junction a lot safer.
Or move the crosswalk down further and have the median as a right turning lane..... London seems built badly.
That punishes cyclists and motorcyclists who wish to use the area to filter
Or at the very least have a painted line throughout the street. Right now it seems to start only just before the island. It might be an extra mental barrier for drivers.
I've always appreciated the stance Mikey makes with these drivers and sometimes I've thought is he taking it too far, but I remember in a vid he mentioned his Dad died due to a reckless driver and now I never question Mikey's antics as I'd do the same if I experienced that. He's an admirable guy and sticks to his cause.
The "put yourself in their shoes" exercise Is often an eye opener.
This shows the motivation behind Mikeys patience and perseverance in making his corner of the world a bit safer.
I don't like the idea that we should have to go through something like that to make it "okay" to take a stand against endangering behaviour. We should all be stopping stuff like this *before* we lose a loved one
@@meepmop6 I agree to a point but then if we wanted everyone to be police we wouldn't have created the worlds first police service here in London and everyone would still carry swords and muskets, or as in the US AK47s! So frankly, the police are made innefective by pc dictate, we suddenly forget why we needed police, because when we policed ourselves it was awful! This guy maybe he does good, but what if we all stood in streets and on pavements dictating our interpretation (rightly or wrongly) of correct behaviour? Frankly I think police in London is lesser of evils. But would be funny if someone tried arresting Mickey for say, jaywalking or something because they genuinely believed they had the right and then someone tried arresting them and another group arrested them. I know Neighbourhood Watch was useless, but other groups are much better organised, we hasd the Guardian Angels for a while. In North London we have Shomrim which is OK if your Jewish, the Muslims have something we don't want it here, most roads around my way have private security firms, they stopped me in the street walking home, asked me what I was dioing, I told them to get lost and they became aggressive. Go figure!
Kinda sad he can’t move on from it. I mean that was decades ago. This world is not perfect so in the grand scheme of things what he is doing is utterly pointless.
@@KruglugBadax Not so pointless if it saves a cyclists life going in the right direction on the right side of the road or maybe a pedestrian looking left before they cross
Why is the well-wishing of "I hope you get lots of business and not too much traffic" so heart-warming? I love it!
I'm guessing the bike is parked where it is so that drivers coming the correct way can't drive up the pavement, hence that would cause them to block the escape route of any wrong-way drivers.
No the drivers on the right side drive on the pavement to get around when a car on the wrong side refuses to go back

Be lucky Mikey. Keep safe my man. You do an amazing job.
My brother in law had a hypo last year at junction 15 m6 , also hit Central res, luckily a wagon driver knew he was having one and let his car rest against his wagon and guided him to hs. Don't know how people cope
Whats that got to do with cyclist breaking the law ?
It’s great isn’t it? If you’re diabetic or have an under active thyroid then you’re entitled to free prescriptions in England. If you’ve had a transplant, have over active thyroid, cystic fibrosis, asthma, lupus, high blood pressure, Parkinson’s, MS, depression, etc etc you have to pay.
If I don’t get my pills, I’ll die within hours.
I literally have to rip out my thyroid or pancreas to be entitled to the drugs I cannot afford. This makes me so angry because I’m immunocompromised, I need antibiotics due to covid and yet I’ve run out of money because I’m not diabetic
@@misplacedkiwi9498 I hope it all works out for ya, Mate. I've got a cuppla Enzedder chums. I asked one once how many times he'd had sex. He closed his eyes, and started counting, and fell asleep. True story.

Harare, mate, not Johannesburg. Only been there on holiday. :)
I followed an erratically driven white van up the M5 from Exeter last September. Hard shoulder to lane two, 45 to 75mph. Awful to watch. His head was nodding down towards the steering wheel as if half asleep and I watched him drift onto the hard shoulder and smash a large caravan down the embankment with debris everywhere. Only by pure luck, there were no serious injuries, but it transpired he was an undiagnosed diabetic in a hypo. He knew something was wrong for weeks, but kept on driving! Horrifying.
If I where in the correct line of traffic, I would not let any rogue motorists in my lane.
They must wait for clear as day clear entrance n exit. No 1 would drive on wrong side of road n expect cars to move aside

I was one of those people who got in a head-on collision with someone pulling the exact same stunt. Almost bought the farm. We were both going 35mph. Driving on the wrong side of the road is sooooo dangerous. There is nothing worse than driving down the road and encountering an object where it doesn't belong.
Terrible thing to do. Thoughtless and selfish.
Sorry to hear that. People forget so badly how impact speed works. Like even in city traffic, 25 mph feels quite slow. But two cars doing 25 head on is like driving into a brick wall at 50.
@@darrencagey1418 incorrect, if the cars are the same weight, then it is like hitting a brick wall at 25mph.
@@darrencagey1418 more like driving into a parked car at 50
@@_Rustodian how? 25+25=50
@@crosstownace986 What matters in a crash is the change in momentum of each car. If two cars of the same mass are going in opposite directions at 25mph, and crash, both cars end up at 0mph. So the change in momentum of each car is (mass of one car) * 25.
Similarly, if you hit a brick wall at 25mph (assuming you come to a complete stop, and don't bounce off or something), the change in momentum is also (mass of one car) * 25.
BUT there is another factor, it's not really the change of momentum that matters, but the RATE of change of momentum.
This is much harder to account for, and depends on the time for the collision in each case. The time for a collision with a wall is likely to be much lower than the time for a collision between two cars. This is because two cars, head on, have 2 combined crumple zones (in each car's bonnet), but when you hit a (solid) wall, there's only one crumple zone, with the wall not budging. Since the collision with the wall will take less time, the (average) force may be increased.
Overall, this depends a lot on the cars involved, and the wall, etc. Statements such as "X collision is just like Y collision" are often tricky to back up
The road needs narrowing a long way before the turning. These people are Jobsworths. Keep up the good work my friend...

The ride along the Rhine is a real treat - Except on weekends, the shared use paths are almost empty, most of it is paved and in fairly decent condition and even where you do end up on streets, those tend to be fairly quiet. There's plenty to see along the route as well. If you're up for a small challenge, do venture into the hills either side of the river valley - there's a lot to discover there (which is what so far stopped me riding the main route in one go - too much to discover away from it).

I do exactly this when people drive over the grass verges outside my house and around the estate where I live. It enrages me because often there are children playing on them.
Good video. Loving your choice of thumbnail ! 😂
The drivers that try to jump the queue obviously use that junction regularly as they know the layout and the possibility of doing what they try to do. People often complain about taxi drivers but you never have to stop them, or many/any other professional drivers. On average I find professional drivers to be better than most when obeying the rules and watching for other road users.
Great work! Keep it up.
I hope you get your meds sorted out. I have some family members who've had a lot of success with both a pump and a sensor that measures blood sugar constantly and can tell the pump when to cut back or give more. They also use a phone app that they put in what and how much they eat that is also taken into account.
I thought maybe they should put a central reservation there, but then I saw people were doing it from miles back, its a sign of a sick society
Hope to see your journey from the switcherland! Especially updates on the pump! My partner is also type 1, tho not with pump. So nice to hear a biking challenge with a pump!
Regarding the type 1 diabeties - get rid of the pump,go back to manual injections and get the dexcom fitted. I'm on 6 injections a day (been type 1 over 25 years) on a weekly rotating shift (engineering) and the dexcom has been life changing for me. The amount of blood sugar checks needed daily makes jabbing your fingers infeasible but with the dexcom you can do as many checks as needed with the press of a button. It not only tells you what your blood sugar levels are but also what they're doing regarding rising or falling. Never have a hypo ever again and be aware of high blood sugars as soon as they happen meaning you can bring them straight back down before any damage occurs. The only warning I'll give you is once you have the dexcom it's impossible to go back to not having it! It's pretty expensive sure but the changes it makes to your daily life are absolutely priceless. Health and happiness to you always Mikey. xx
The road says "Look Left", if someone is driving on the wrong side of the road, and the pedestrian doesn't see them or doesn't look right. Not good...😨 Mikey you are saving peoples lives, well done. I hope this new phenomenon takes route with all aspects of bad drivers 🚗 making it hard to get away with cheating the highway code...also I do think that something needs to also be put in place that hold cyclists who cycle on the wrong side of the road. They are also putting people at risk as much as bad drivers.
Interesting challenge you have set yourself, cycling from Switzerland to the Netherlands. Do you have a route mapped out, it would be interesting to see your route and what sights you will pass on your journey.
All those drivers you stopped will now be waiting for a fine and possible penalty points. The fact you're not passing on your video just means they have the stress and worry for sometime waiting for a fine in the post that will not come

Oh, and just noticed, is that your bike blocking the path up? What if a guy in a wheelchair wants to get past?
Plenty room for a wheelchair to get past, and I could always nip over and move it if needed. Mostly, it was parked there to stop drivers coming the other way from going on the pavement - it was there to protect pedestrians from them.

With the cars so often two abreast in that lane after they fail to sneak past. Seems like they could narrow the lane and maybe add a protected cycle path in the space. Also might deter the naughty drivers as there's not the option of waiting two abreast in a single lane.
