PTX Christmas songs are acceptable at any time of year! Joy to the World x Kumama Papa (also from the Holidays Around the World album) is epic!!

I've heard that Jose Mari Chan had wanted Lea Salonga to record the original 1990 release but at the time she had just achieved world fame for her performance in the musical "Miss Saigon" and was not available to record. So this is a nice callback to the composer's original idea.

Lea did want to record the song, but she and Jose Mari Chan belonged to different record labels, so Lea wasn't allowed to do it.

Great reaction. As someone said the album Holidays Around the World was mostly collaborations and does use instruments in some of the songs. Prayers for this World from the album is just PTX written by Dianne Warren. Add that to what I’m sure is a very long list of songs to react to.

They sound amazing. I do have a Pentatonix song as my ring tone. And Avi in his deep Voice "listen to me" for My message notification. Lol

I'm back!!! Now I have to catch up on your Pentatonix reactions. Thank you very much for reacting to my request. Sorry I was late seeing it. Of course I enjoyed the awesome collab and your reaction to it. I appreciate it. Kirstin was pregnant with her daughter when they shot this video.

Great reaction as always! Yes, we'll listen to Christmas music all year, especially if a reactor wishes to check out a song or carol.
I just noticed this short of Lea Salonga and Scott practicing and recording parts of this wonderful Filipino Christmas carol:

lol! Coffee in Bed is my alarm clock. I used to use “Here Comes the Sun,” too! Then I used “Concerning Hobbits,” then I used “God Help the Girl,” by the band God Help the Girl (funnily enough), but now I’ve got Pentatonix waking me up. 😊

This is from Pentatonix's 2022 album, "Holidays Around the World". Many of the tracks were collaborations with artists from around the world who are RUclips stars in their home countries. This was my least favorite track from the album when I first heard it; it seemed really simple compared to most of their arrangements. Then I did some research and found out that this 1990 song is iconic in the Philippines, written by Jose Mari Chan, a Filipino songwriter considered the "father of Philippine Christmas music" and the title track from the best selling Philippines album ever. So of course, Pentatonix wanted to be respectful of the original.
