    I came across Alina flying the Aerolite 103 do you retail these in the UK? IM also an aircraft engineer and impressed with the build quality of your machines. I like the focus on deburring which sadly some manufacturers overlook and burrs can cause metal fatigue. Alina has brought your product to the attention of millions now. She is the best promoter of the Aerolite 103!👍👏👏👏

    I hear that Denis has a backlog of customer orders which of course is currently great but I also believe that Denis should contact Alina and offer her some modern upgrades.
    Maybe more aerodynamic less weight carbon wheel spats or a higher capacity fuel tank or engine upgrade etc as a gesture of thanks for all her free advertising of this 103 aircraft kit.
    Because:
    I dont know of and I cant imagine any better advetising than a 14 year old girl learning to fly it at home and her first real solo flight is 1000 miles in 6 days to Oshcosh.
    I do know of many 10 to 12 year olds that havent yet learnt to count to ten because the (moozzyloon) teachers say learning at an early age (

      Thank you for your well meaning words. Dennis has been ultra responsive to our needs for spare parts and was one of a very few that didn't say I was crazy for trying to teach my kids to fly. (He didn't endorse it either but I'll take what I can get). He was very pragmatic in solving my problems. I own him. Not the other way around.

    Having put aerolite together on my own I know how hard it is to pinpoint those rivet and bolt holes. Btw, does any of you guys know whats the difference between An4 and m8 bolts?

      Could you be asking what is the difference between AN hardware and Grade 8 hardware?

    • @AlFastguy
      @AlFastguy 3 месяца назад +1

      @@williamh.scottv438grade 8.8 grade Yes. It is supposed to have 4000lbs proof load at size m8 and I used mostly these bolts instead of an. Well the main front bolt is heavier M10 size where square upper tube connects with front curved cage tube. And smaller M6 size is used at stabilizer connection points and wing strut to wing connection. Hope it works fine. I have no an bolts available at my home country at continental Europe

      Anything "m" is communist stuff. "AN" is for freedom loving Americans.

    Hello Mr. Carley and Mr. Whitley,
    I was thoroughly impressed by your RUclips video showcasing your ultralight airplane. Your creation holds significant promise for the future of aviation, offering accessibility to enthusiasts of all kinds.
    I would like to propose a suggestion to enhance your aircraft's performance further. By substituting aluminum tubing with carbon fiber tubing, you could potentially achieve weight savings of 35% to 40%. Not only is a composite frame lighter, but it also boasts superior strength. Importantly, this upgrade could significantly enhance pilot safety, particularly in scenarios where the aircraft makes contact with the ground at speeds below 70 miles per hour, which is common for ultralight planes, typically averaging speeds below 60 mph.
    The ultralight airplane now can incorporate carbon fiber composite technology inspired by F1 racing cars. In F1, the carbon fiber body has proven to safeguard pilots even amidst collisions at speeds up to 180 mph, ensuring their safety. Since the adoption of carbon fiber bodies in F1 racing, pilots no longer harbor concerns about safety during races. Similarly, I envision ultralight airplane pilots experiencing the same peace of mind in the event of ground contact while flying, given that the speeds of ultralight airplanes are considerably lower than those of F1 cars.
    It's worth noting that only carbon fiber composites can achieve this level of pilot protection. Neither aluminum nor steel can match the safety standards set by carbon fiber. The composite frames are also good for bikes.
    The cost implication of utilizing carbon fiber tubes is not exorbitant, with prices approximately 30% higher than aluminum tube frames. nathanvh9@gmail.com

      I have been building aluminum airplanes for over 20 years. The tool the lady was using is a deburring tool, not a router. She was using it correctly to debur the inside radius of a hole drilled into a round tube. I have no idea how you arrived at the conclusion that she was using a “router” incorrectly. I have personally inspected several of these aircraft at flyins and have found their construction, fit and finish to be superior.
