Nice bike, congratulations and wishing you many happy miles! Regarding handling as you said, often I find my Roadglide handles better (differently )than my Softail.
I have a 2022 FLHTK. I always start in neutral. Seems to be easier on the starter. Great bike with a good amount of storage. Really nice on long rides. I also plug in a small heater in the outlet in the tourpack to keep food warm. 😂
I just bought one like it 2012, and I love the ride on it, it does have alot of features, I just haven't figured out the side saddle bags, the back trunk holds it from opening, I haven't read manual yet, and also I wish it was able to remove the back trunk in and off easily, but I love the bike to just cruise, I have a sportster to but I like the comfort of bike for cruising a little more

I prefer the road glide handling as well but overall I like the Ultra Limited better than the road glide.

Buy a new head pipe, I'll put it in for you and the bike will sound a lot better and will run a lot cooler also
