- What to expect when building Mould King's Flying Dutchman. I was pleasantly surprised as you will hear over and over. Sorry. Note, Minifigures and extra rigging not part of set. But I do have a section at the end that discusses rigging. Thanks for watching.
I've just started building this myself, and it seems as though they've altered the instructions somewhat because several of the parts you mentioned as falling off (like the bow) aren't built until much later in my build (currently on stage 5 and haven't even begun with the front bow yet!) My set also came with a full set of supports for the bottom deck. Awesome to know Mould King have seen feedback and adapted this build!
That is so good to hear. I am glad that they take feedback in. Thank you for letting me know.
this is a great video from the editing and such, but also quite useful for someone thinking about buying it
Hi, thank you. You are very kind, but I don't know if it is a great video and editing is ok. But if it helped you in some way, I am happy to hear that. Stay well
loved this, thank you for documenting your experience. I've never purchased a non-lego brick building product before but this set looked too cool not to at least consider!
Hi, I was informed by someone a few weeks ago that they improved the build. They said the parts that I indicated falling off do not and that there are supports under the deck. a bit late but hope that helps
thanks for passing that along to me!@@studsmcsnap7672
How did you Anker the thread without tieing it 34:55
Awesome video, very helpful!
Hi Thank you. I've been told that they came out with a newer version addressing the problems I had building it.
It's so beautiful I wish I could buy it. I think it's really worth it even if it's not official Legos, looks authentic and from what I know you can mix the two
I am hearing that they improved some of the bits i mentioned. The Black Pearl or Queen Anne's Revenge are a much better experience. Maybe start with one of those. Yes, Lego and Mould King pieces work together.
Really helpful looking forward to that black pearl review
Hi, thank you. It might be a while for Black Pearl as I have to disassemble Nebulon-B for the space.
Ty for going through it, mine is coming in soon
Awesome. The important thing is to go ahead and build the bow bits but don't bother mounting them until the end. Also, some people mentioned that they built base first and then built the ship on that for stability. I didn't do that myself and do not know if it makes a difference or not. Have fun with it.
Been thinking of getting this set. Already have the Pearl and the Queen Anne’s Revenge. This’ll look nice
isn't this set alot bigger then the pearl and queen?
@@sjakiee no clue
its about the same maybe a tad bigger
Those two sets were a great build (will be doing QAR soon). Flying Dutchman not as much, but I was recently told that MK redid the build to make it a better experience. I have not verified this myself though
that sounds good all you need is a skeliton crew
LEGO had Day of the Dead Minifig heads in the Build a Minifig assortment so I crewed it with them. Came out nice.
Hi, from what you remember the middle gun deck with the stairs that lead down into it. Is that tall enough for Lego mini figures to stand in it and be somewhat accurate to size? I was thinking of buying this set and changing something around. I also noticed the Forecastle is somewhat short. Thanks !
I've crewed my set. It looks fine, but not sure if minifigs will fit below. The Flying Dutchman set I built does not have removable decks, but scale seems fine above decks
Hi sir can I ask the favor if u can show every pages of manual coz I lost mine😢
Great build ! Where could I get the rotating circle you use to spin the boat.
Um, I found that in a pile of stuff to be tossed out a few years back. So, I grabbed it
Planning on getting this
Enjoy. Its a nice if a bit fragile build. Just about to post Black pearl which I LOVED. Thanks for watching
i moved the lights to the out side of the ship so you coude see them
That seems like a good idea. I added green LED's under masts to give the sails an eerie green glow
How long did it take to finish the ship?
Hi, you must have missed the second placard. Roughly 17.5 hours. 16 hours if you take out the rigging.
i accidently hit this over 1 bag from completion, giving up on it now as it's beyond saving and i can't be asked, unlucky way to lose 120 dollars i was looking forward to it
I'm saddened to hear it. Others have indicated that Mould King improved the build by adding supports for deck and fixed some of the fragility of bow. Maybe contact MK and see if they can swap out?
@@studsmcsnap7672 i have since fixed the ship!
i have just got this ship and i got all the supports with it did not need to add more
Awesome. Someone else informed me of this also. I am glad they fixed it. They also said the fragility is better also. True?
I like how you think I don't mean just your thoughts about Lego which I no long have respect for because their mentally weak minded and is unwilling to accept their biggest faults as their fault because I as a retired building engineer of a building 30 floors or taller, as if it was my building, and my job was to keep everyone happy and comfortable someone being to hot in the middle of a snowstorm could happen not in my build it was not allow so I had to fix it before it would happen thinking of all the possible ways keep me moving and today I no longer do that but I can build miniature model building like the building I once work in but I on longer live near so I can no longer see them! I once working abuilding just like this many years ago in Downtown Seattle the Yesler Building which lost most of it greatness to the modern look it is part of the old history of Seattle Pioneer part of the town! The main goal of mine is to do as many things as I can which is never exactly as the real things so for me it is my job to make it better be to work faster or build it better with less if possible which I have done yes making it better with less bricks pieces something Lego hates being told, so I no longer help #Lego! But I love the hard to do bricks thinking outside the box many years Lego was working outside the box sadly Lego want to hurt people who do what Lego wants nothing to do with! SHAME ON LEGO! This is one great video!
