Lori, I have a sizable collection of patterned Hermes scarves and a small collection of Hermes vintage clothing. The label on your scarf resembles the 1990’s label, but three “tells” make me think this is not an authentic Hermes scarf. As you noted, the accent mark is incorrect. It should be a slanted,or “grave” mark. Secondly, the hyphen on your label appears to be too long. It looks as if it is touching the words Hermes and Paris…there should be more space on either side. The last thing that seems off is the way the tag is attached. That type Hermes tag is usually hand stitched onto the scarf in three places…top edge, on both ends and in the center. I am NO expert, and have never authenticated anything for anyone other than myself. However, experience tells me that these are red flags that should be considered…they could mean something or they could mean nothing😊
Hmmm, I'm not an expert by any means, but one must wonder about the Prada shoes. One of the first red flags for me was the sole not being leather, and having that stamped into the leather. Secondly that the inside of the shoes are in excellent condition, yet BOTH of the soles split, and chunks are missing.
There is a way to test if fabric is real silk or not. As you have fringe it will be easier to take a few strands of fabric and burn it. If it melts it's poliester. But research how exactly silk burns, so you can do one test only. Even if not real Hermes, silk alone is great find. Pillowcases would be amazing from that piece or a blouse 😍
Love that you took us to the bins!! My husband and I will be taking a native voyage there soon...thought of you when I found a Smathers & Branson at our Providence Savers...for $3.19..was absolutely amazed!!! I said to my Husband ...Lori Tata showed me this brand and here it is!! Thank you for sharing all of your valuable info. You are loved❤
I’m so glad the bins are open again. I’m going to have to try and get up there this fall and visit family also. Some great finds, hippie the Hermes is real🤩
As another viewer explained when a small piece of the fringe is set alight polyester will melt and form a hard lump whereas a natural fibre such as silk with flare up producing a small flame.
oh yeah I love paring some amazing shoes with a simple black outfit or even a jean outfit and let the shoes make the statement ... or even a gorgeous handbag or a piece of jewelry or an amazing scarf like my peony mulberry silk scarf ... throw ver a 10 dollar black dress, simple black shoes and boom amazing outfit
I've been collecting Hermes scarves for a number of years, and I would say that this wrap is not authentic. The accent mark, the attached label rather that hand stitched, the unfinished hem etc. are definitely big signs of a non-authentic Hermes product. It is very nice though so I'm sure someone would love to have it. Loved seeing the construction is done on the bridge! Thank you Lori!
Regarding the scarf, if it was woven in one piece and not cut then there would be no hand rolled hem. It will be interesting to know if it is genuine. Hope so!
Sort sort sort.😜Glad you are being selective and being in tune with what you take home. You seem so happy with the decluttering . 🥰Keep on Keeping on.😎
I love the Goodwill Outlet stores in Boston! I find amazing NWT items all the time there! Lori, is the bin outlet in the same building as the Harrison Ave store? On my bucket list is to meet you and Kim someday on one of my Boston thrifting adventures. Love your channel!!
Have you tried Vendoo for cross-listing your inventory? New sign-ups will receive 25% off their first month when using this link! vendoo.co/register?via=lori-YT14
Great haul Lori. I found a silk Hermes rolled hem scarf at the bins that I’ve been wanting to get authenticated. Thanks for sharing that website. (Wish me luck) lol
WHAT!!! I have never been to a bins because I don't have a ton of time to travel to CT or NH... but BOSTON!! Yes! I'm not going to lie, it seems a little intimidating, but maybe I can drag my son. On the other side... my Hermes scarf does not have an artist signature... but it is more like yours... a shall/wrap. Mine was pulled down from etsy for authentication purposes and then put back up once it passed. I bought it from an estate in Wellsley where the lady had a TON of designer items so I am 99% sure its authentic. Hope yours is authentic!!
One thing that concerns me about the Hermes scarf is the way the tag is sewn on. It looks quite sloppy. I’m no expert on this but I do know that high end clothing should look professional in construction right down to the tag. The finishing touches are important.
Thank you for all the info. I would like to ask what do you do to the items that you sell. Do you take off any marks from the stores (prices the soles of the shoes)clean the shoes and boots. You said that you steam the items. All this info would be good to know I am not a seller but do you tell people what you have done to the item you are selling.? Again thanks for all the info .
I own an Hermes scarf and it has a rolled hem. Most vintage scarves have a rolled hem (high end or not), but Hermes should def have a rolled hem. Hope that helps.
Interesting how that bin’s location prices every item separately. You would think since the price ends up being so similar to regular bins price that they would just do it by the pound to save the time and pain of counting every item. Great score on the Fluvogs! I’ve only found them once, they were sandals and sold for $150. Such a bolo!
Just curious what is the website you use to authenticate things to make sure they are authentic? I have a Louis Vuitton purse I found at goodwill and I want to make sure it is real. Could you please link the website. Thanks
How is the parking there? I usually go all the way to Connecticut because I am in Sturbridge and I really want to go to Boston now that it is open (and 30 minutes closer without traffic) but I am such a timid city driver.
There's ample parking! The reason it took so long for them to reopen is because their lot was completely torn up for moonths so everything was street parking, otherwise they would have been open back in May.
I would re-sole the Prada shoes if it doesn't cost too much. I sold a Prada black silk blazer for $200 that was half-finished. I don't know if it was a sample that was never completed, or a piece someone had tried to alter, but it still sold for a great profit.
I don’t like going through the clothing bins due to rude people. Although I still do and don’t give AF. Someone bum rushed me to get to a jacket so I bum rushed them out of my way!🤣 But I love the bins where all the books and cds are. I found some nice books included vintage dr Seuss hard cover books as well as cds and other great books at this location that sold moments after listing.
I once found a crazy Jean Paul Gautier piece at that Bins. I still prefer the NH bins with by the pound though... but I do a lot of electronics, which are $6 in Boston!
The hat made me laugh - it reminded me of a detective (usually called O'Malley or something) with a really bad Irish accent on Murder She Wrote 😂. That said - I'd wear it (not called O'Malley and with an English accent) xx
Hi Lori, what a nice haul. Congrats on the Fluevogs! Fun story- my first sale on Poshmark was a pair of my own Vogs , it was the start of re-selling for me. I can usually spot a pair right away and it always gets my heart pumping. ( I’ve never been able to thrift my size though.) Also love that he is 🇨🇦 Always enjoy your videos , especially when Kim is in on the fun!!
I hate that the New Hampshire bins do not separate their shoes out in a separate bin from clothing. They make it very difficult to find matching pairs of shoes when they are all over the place.
I have no idea about if the scarf is authentic but it did look like the label was not evenly stitched in and a high end designer brand would be perfectly stitched in but who knows 🤷♀️
Lovely winter haul! No expertise in Hermes’. I have a beautiful ‘faux’ scarf a friend brought back from China. She told me that you can copy designs etc but you are not allowed to label. Very heavy penalties for labeling fraud. You just might have the real thing. Plus it’s 30 years old and a tiny label, easy to overlook when clearing an estate. I love my scarf it is silk and hand rolled with incredible colours. That scarf could dress up your many different black outfits. It’s minimal but gorgeous ❤.
I’m doubtful it’s Hermes. The tag doesn’t look right. I’ve never seen a fringe on Hermes. There should be a signature on it. The silk quality doesn’t look right either.
Love Boston bins. Can you answer why you have so much nice stuff on posh but continue to use that horrific white out background? It makes the clothing and shoes look like they are disfigured and in outer space. ESP on $$$ items, a neutral background without the white out is so much better. The photo of the comp/sold platform boots you showed looks SO much better than the white out you use. Just a probably unwanted rant, but it’s diminishes the look of your fab stuff.
Kim is hysterical, she adds so much to your video!!
I get so excited when I open a video and see Kim! She's my favorite!

Thank you for all the hard work you put into these videos. I truly enjoy them and am learning a lot
Kim is a national treasure !
🩷💚
Hello Kim, you are an awesome friend!!!!🎉 I really enjoyed your videos, Lori!!🎉🎉
I’m only about an hour away or less. I’d love to go but the thought of driving in Boston 🤯
Love that you took us to the bins!! Pink Chicken for the girl's dress. If the Prada shoes are authentic, would you expect them to split? Quality?
You have a little friend with you in your chair. Love seeing him or her. ❤❤
My gut says should have left those Prada shoes at the bin.🤪
I’m so glad the bins are open again. I’m going to have to try and get up there this fall and visit family also. Some great finds, hippie the Hermes is real🤩
So excited for you both! You look very pretty also, happy looks great on you!
Love your friend Kim…looks like you guys have such a great time!
Hi Lori and Lumpy 👋🌞☕️ Have a beautiful day with many blessings 🙂💕🙏🌻🦋 I love you ❤❤

Ok, that's encouraging. Thank you Cindy! Fingers crossed!
Ooh, how exciting!! Going to the bins!! ❤
Oh it was SUCH a good trip!!
Love your videos! The bird is “white crow little wing”
So happy I get my Lumpy fix today! I love your videos, and your precious Lumpy always makes me smile! :)
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate your kind message! Lumpy sends his love! xoxo
He is really getting big.Is he fully grown?
Sort sort sort.😜Glad you are being selective and being in tune with what you take home. You seem so happy with the decluttering . 🥰Keep on Keeping on.😎
I’m always drawn to Old Navy and target brands while thrifting. It is weird! I usually just get it for myself 😂
I thought it was just me 😊
Same.
Those Fluevog boots!! ‼️💯❤️
I love the Goodwill Outlet stores in Boston! I find amazing NWT items all the time there! Lori, is the bin outlet in the same building as the Harrison Ave store? On my bucket list is to meet you and Kim someday on one of my Boston thrifting adventures. Love your channel!!
Same building but separate entrance, all the way to the left if you're looking at the building.
@@passportsandpizzapies thank you, heading there today!
hi- is there parking avail at the Boston Bins- parking lot? not very good at street parking lol- thank you!!@@passportsandpizzapies
@@bethcohen3823 Yes, they have a whole parking lot. It had been torn up for like a year so that’s why the reopening was delayed, but all is good now.
What was the brand of the plus size cardigan? The black sparkly one
It was Avenue.

Lumpy ❤ love how he gets in your chair with you …😅
Depends on the patterns for me and Sundry but I love the quality of the sweatshirts.
Love love love Fluevogs ❤️ I have found several and love selling them!
Yes! Lumpy and Kim!
One thing that concerns me about the Hermes scarf is the way the tag is sewn on. It looks quite sloppy. I’m no expert on this but I do know that high end clothing should look professional in construction right down to the tag. The finishing touches are important.
Hi Lori! Was the parking lot back open at this location? Last time I visited I had a hard time finding street parking.
Fluevog nice! Are they vintage or new,?
Where is the goodwill outlet in Boston? Is it the one in Hudson, NH?
Ooh, that little Lumpy is just so adorable!! ❤ I’ve said it before! I’ll say it again!! ❤ 🐶
We always love the love for Lumpy!! xoxo Thank you Eileen!
I feel a thrift trip coming on. The Boston bins has been closed for years. So exciting!
Where are the Boston bins?
I would have new soles put on. Great haul!! Have your eBay sales grown since you have more listings ?
It would have been great to see the checkout process given the itemized prices. My first thought was HUGE lines and the process taking forever.
Thank you for all the info. I would like to ask what do you do to the items that you sell. Do you take off any marks from the stores (prices the soles of the shoes)clean the shoes and boots. Hi Lori I would love those pink pants are they trouser style?
Hi Lori. Where are the kids Sorel boots you showed?
I own an Hermes scarf and it has a rolled hem. Most vintage scarves have a rolled hem (high end or not), but Hermes should def have a rolled hem. Hope that helps.
Since I shop for myself & my family there’s a lot, I mean a LOT of these brands I’m unaware of. 😭 I’m learning though.

It's not great, but there is a lot. It's a busy place but at least it isn't street parking.
They have a parking lot and I've never had trouble finding a spot.
Are there Good Will bins in CT?
@@sandranorden5217 yes, they are in Hamden, CT
There's ample parking! The reason it took so long for them to reopen is because their lot was completely torn up for moonths so everything was street parking, otherwise they would have been open back in May.

I have a pair of Fluvog that haven't sold in 2 years.
It's really sad because they're really cool shoes
Hi Lori I’m in MA Thank you for sharing your video are very helpful and informative Can you please share with Goodwill I can go between NH Or Boston
What was the brand on the gray cardigan that sold on whatnot for $8?
Love your videos! I need a friend like Kim, she’s. Gem!!❤️💎

I need those pact overalls
I once found a crazy Jean Paul Gautier piece at that Bins. I still prefer the NH bins with by the pound though... but I do a lot of electronics, which are $6 in Boston!

I would resole the Pradas❤
Where in boston is this?
I think the girls dress is pink chicken
Thank you!
The hat made me laugh - it reminded me of a detective (usually called O'Malley or something) with a really bad Irish accent on Murder She Wrote 😂. That said - I'd wear it (not called O'Malley and with an English accent) xx
I don’t think those are real Prada shoes. They should NEVER have split!
It kinda looks like they were resoled previously, maybe cheaply? Idk it's such a faked brand.
Where is this located in boston?
You should not wear your diamond rings in the Bins- ppl have lost jewelry
Can anyone share its address please? I'm about 45 minutes west of Boston and go there often for work. Their website doesn't show an outlet for MA.
Harrison ave
Kim is awesome! So are you Lori! Love seeing your videos!

Do let us know if the Hermes scarf is real. I've found hundreds of designer scarves over the years but never this brand.
I have no idea about if the scarf is authentic but it did look like the label was not evenly stitched in and a high end designer brand would be perfectly stitched in but who knows 🤷♀️
From my research on dupes, if that material sticker is on the sole, they are likely fake
Lovely winter haul!

I would not have picked up the prada shoes ... I can not touch shoes that look like they have beenw orn ... just me
Pay by the piece??? That's tight!
I wouldn’t resole Pradas as they’re veeery small and will take so long to sell
They are tiny.
Pink chicken expensive kids brand
Yes redo the soles, why lose the $$
I’m doubtful it’s Hermes. The tag doesn’t look right. I’ve never seen a fringe on Hermes. There should be a signature on it. The silk quality doesn’t look right either.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'd resole
They're so pretty it might be worth it!

some stuff seems like it would be cheaper and some more $ probably evens out, plus you are prob more selective by the piece.
