I lived a life where my parents would take my sisters and I camping every other weekend cause we had a camping site. By far my favorite memories growing up. The independence it teaches your kids and how to respect the nature is amazing. It brought a positive humblness to my sisters and I when we became adults.
I’m setting here LMAO I can’t wait to hear about your first camping trip. There are going to be so many things you are going to find out that you need and don’t have. A trip to Texas as a beginner is going to be an eye opening experience. A few local destination camping trips would be better so you’ll find out how everything works. Good luck Dale!! This will be a test of how strong your marriage is especially when you’re backing into a camp site and Amy is directing you backing up
We just sold our Grand Design 5er and it was a wonderful experience. I'm a 100% disabled Vet so the cost of fuel and RV spots to rent got to be too much. Even on military bases we saw some of this. That and the fact setting up and tearing down the RV took me at least one day to recover from. If I can add my opinion on RV's and 5er's I think Vilano and Grand Design are the wat to go. So many different floor plans, bunk rooms, storage, two a/c units are a must and a built-in generator. Good luck to you Jr. and your family on this new adventure. Keeper between the ditches!!!
Thank you DJ. I’ve been staying that point about Gibbs all week. Him and Bell where potentially fighting for first if ANYTHING would’ve happened to take Byron out. He had no obligation to give that position up, and Bell wouldn’t have done it for him. It’s that simple. They are racing.
Come on JR. Your going backwards. Your Airstream is the charm. I hate to tell you this. But, unless they built it for you. Knowing it's yours, you may be okay. But, the Keystone will fall apart. While the Airstream will be with you family for ever.
Should have talked about the racing between SVG, Larson, and Allmindinger at the end of stage 2. Some of the best road course racing you'll ever see in Nascar.... Xfinity series was far and away the eBay race of the weekend
In Australian SuperCars they have a transponder under each car and at certain tracks like Adelaide and the Gold Coast if you short cut the track you get a Kerb strike, there's a device under the track surface that picks it up and after 2 strike's 3rd one is a penalty.
I don’t understand why nascar doesn’t do this. All I can figure is they don’t want to install more equipment and spend more money just for 1 or 2 races. Cota is the only race on this year’s schedule that they’d use such a system. Definitely would have saved some cars and money at the Indy RC. The Roval, it could help there. Get rid of the car destroying turtles. So 2 races in ‘24
I live 8 miles from COTA and have seen all forms of racing there. The track is not competitive. It’s pretty and looks “technical”, but it doesn’t produce good racing. No passing is the biggest issue. So it looks like a high speed parade lap for two to three hours. I hope NASCAR pulls out (like Indycar)… maybe competitive changes will be made.
@HershelMcgrifffmaybe if they stuck to the race track they’d have good racing. It’s hard to overtake when you have no braking zones because you’re blowing every corner and driving 100ft into the runoff
That`s absolutely false. COTA have a whole lot of passing zones, and it was designed to be that. Oh, and Indycar wanted to stay at COTA, but where kicked out since COTA wanted NASCAR instead.
SVG was much better than anyone in XFinity on Saturday, and was driving away from everyone before those late cautions. Hill knew that and his only chance was to punt him off the track at turn 1 so that’s what he did. Unfortunately he didn’t count on SVG getting back to him in time to return the favour. Larson said after the race that he was lucky Hill knocked SVG off the road or he wouldnt have won.
Bring that camper up to Plymouth Rock campground in Plymouth Wisconsin! Right across the street from Road America and there's tons of great fishing and exploring to do in the area! We would love to have you and your family!
I believe the PHANTOM YELLOWS was one of the reasons Carl Edwards retired, or quit racing after the PHANTOM YELLOW caused him not to win the championship at Homestead 7 years ago. North Wilkesboro should DEFINITELY be back as a points race, and I'll say it, replace COTA with it! I believe the fans from NC and SC could give the Austin crowd a run for their money! Real Texans don't care much for Austin anyway!
Cota was designed by Kevin " swantz" a former motorcycle champion , the design of this track is ridiculous , turn 1 is an absolute joke , a 180 degree turn after a way too long straight , if they enforced track limits every driver would have been penalized , and then the " switch backs" where you get the penalties , and the track is over 3 and 1 half miles long , too long , the worst road course , ever !!!!!!!!
Hey Guys I am a 62 year old NASCAR Fan and I am a Formula One Fan BUT I was a NASCAR Fan 1st and always 1st. Guys I think NASCAR Needs to Stop letting Drivers from being able to run Outside Track Limits PERIOD ! Its a New Time and we need to see the Drivers Drive within all track limits. It's Just Time ! Ok Great Show I Wonder What It Would Be Like to Only Run On The Designed & Desired Track Only ? Thanks Again Great Show !
I agree w/ Dale about the “starts” tweet. It’s clear he’s answering as a racer. As a NASCAR stakeholder & beneficiary of its popularity, he has to understand why they’re trying to bring awareness to this generation of drivers. Right?
Dale. It looks like Camping World found another sucker. The cougar is a cheap piece of JUNK. you will have all kinds of problems with it. It will destroy your RV'ing fun. Good luck.
You know he could afford an Airstream and just waste more money. Lol. The best built ones I see are by this guy and his wife in Texas. They buy old Airstreams, and they pull the body off. Start from the tires up. Custom everything. What counter tops do you want? 1 or 3 beds, etc.
A sister and Brother in law bought one and had nothing but problems with it they quickly got rid of it. A friend of ours also made the mistake of buying one and also had many problems with it and got rid of it. I thought Dale was smatter then to not look for a quality RV. buying from Camping World is the one of the worst places to buy. They have a terrible record of follow up service.@@Mr.Saltwater
Good Morning Dirty Mo Media Happy Hump Day To U Guys. 24:45 Agree that was one of most craziest Truck Series accident's even when Marco Andertii rear end came out of truck in Saturday afternoon race @ COTA 52:22 Great interview by Dale Jr with Sunday Cup Series winner William Byron
It's fun to hit the road with the family make some great memories along the way. My wife and I have a Cougar fifth wheel too and i pull it with a 2013 F350 crew cab short bed and you can set the cruse down the highway with no problems. Have been to 30 states and this year we plan on hitting a few more this summer. Safe travels to you and the family maybe we will run into you on the road.
Great camping spot at Beech Bend in Kentucky. That park itself is not some massive 6 flags thing and perfect for kids that aren't wanting the massive body crushing rides and has a great little water park as part of it The camping area is behind it near the asphalt track and drag strip, and camping in the trees is perfect for the campground fires, playing, and enjoying life.
Some people use “camping” as a term to describe being in nature and surrounded by it, more than the idea of living off the land in a tent. If you’re gonna bring a stove/lantern/etc why bother with the tent? It’s just uncomfortable to sleep in when unnecessary.
I've got pictures of Mario Andretti and Al and Bobby Unser riding around Pocono in the 70's. They were riding Schwinn's with Banana seats and High handle bars and sissy bars and the were racing around the Garages and the Pitts lol
I completely disagree with the comments about COTA design. It's the perfect design - wide and long to allow side by side racing for these big cars. The issue is not the track, it is the car or tire, which I lean on tire and really I saw no issues with Sundays race. I enjoyed it and was surprised by how fast bell was - having thought tires didn't matter that much.
Camp Ground in Key's , Sunshine Camp Grounds. Just don't be out side 1hr before sun up or sun down. No see-umps bug's will kill you. Also do all your cooking out side, get some dishwash tubs to do dishes out side. You don't want to smell food all night in side camper. Get a hose regulator for water hook up. Add tee at water hook up to have hose . Get nice screen tent to cover pic-table. Big one is have box of mechanics gloves in for sewer hoses . For camp grounds have bunch of 4×4 for adjusting jack stands. We camped with kids for 6 weeks every winter. Could give you list's for Day's. Have fun and Make family ties that last forever!
I would like to see NASCAR use a tire series wide for all races that is narrower and that degrades quickly when it is overdriven. I see this as a means to bring driver input to the forefront to increase the competitiveness, therefore increase the entertainment value to races.
Friend of mine built a mini harley davidson bobber that he takes to motorcycle ralleys , goes from camp site to camp site and it is reallly a kool looking bike . Something to think about . It would put their little scooters to shame
Want to see a Stevie Ray Vaughan poster on the wall....best "Blues " player; one of the greatest guitarists ever was!!! Ask Clapton, B.B. King if he were still here. Complete package... Guitarist, Blues voice, Songwriter. Met you and your dad at Greenville- Pickens Speedway. Please!!!!

But run the shorter version of COTA, which no series does anymore, and I guarantee the racing would be much more interesting. Nevermind, fans would be able to see almost the entire track (if shorter) from certain locations.
Good luck with th 5er! Im on my 6th different rv..the wife cant make up her mind..had about every design..nothin is perfect. Depends on how you use it..traveling. class A or C..hanging out alot..pull behind. Im restoring a 04 27 ft winnebago now with a toad...happy trails Jr!
Dale you have been camping your whole life. What makes this difference is that you going to be on your own. Don't let it frustrate you. Please let us know if you're going to do it again when you get home.😂
We have a time limit in the bomber class at our local short track, if you run faster than 20.5 twice in a race you get DQ'd because there are some cars/drivers in the class that can't keep up because of the car they chose to make a race car, or their ability! Junior will see it if he's at New River on Friday night, the 12th to watch the local divisions run. We run the #83 and #88 bomber cars.
On the scooters maybe like you said they out there checking out the track and maybe new bumps in the track you feel on the scooter that you won't feel just walking the track.

We want video of Dale backing that 35 ft RV into a campsite for the 1st time😂
Yes lol especially at a campground that lied about the site sizes
Amy did it.
Or an animatic 😂🤣
Loved to see him back anything into campsite!!! 😂❤
"Who the hell put the sewer hookup that far away from the dagon pad?"
“I’ve been around a lot of chairs” -Dale Jr
I love his quotes!
Bring that Rig to Middle Bass Island ... great private place.
“My nostalgia has me in all kinds of uncomfortable situations” tooooo funny and true!
Dale Earnhardt Jr for NASCAR President
Agree 1000 .. I would vote for him for US president over these two clowns
Trump! Or else.
Dale Jr is podcast gold.

Exactly! I gotta remind myself all the time that this dude is worth several hundred million bucks probably
It's probably also a 2022 instead of a 2023/24.
Thank you DJ.

Give us a report on your customer service experience at Camping World when that Keystone begins to fall apart. Both have a reputation.
lol Dale Jr. is calling Marcus Lemonis on his personal cell phone if he has issues
Dale Jr would just get given another one.
I would love to see a dirt track road course race. That would take things back to the roots of moonshine runners. Maybe a dirt asphalt combination.
Come on JR. Your going backwards. Your Airstream is the charm. I hate to tell you this. But, unless they built it for you. Knowing it's yours, you may be okay. But, the Keystone will fall apart. While the Airstream will be with you family for ever.
Buddy, Jr is a millionaire. Sometimes it's just about the comfort compared to the cost
I'd be surprised if it wasn't given to him for talking about it. Doubt he actually paid for it. He won't GAF if it falls apart.
Should have talked about the racing between SVG, Larson, and Allmindinger at the end of stage 2. Some of the best road course racing you'll ever see in Nascar.... Xfinity series was far and away the eBay race of the weekend

Just like a boat. The best days are when you first buy it and when you can sell it😅😅
Would love to see an in-car camera on Dale's camper trip to Texas! I can see a Griswold type vacation in the making!🤠

I think svg couldve won it still if he had waited a couple more turns for the bump but i guess the track limit violation would've taken it away anyway

How about rumble strips or paving material that wears out tires instead of curbs and walls at all road coarses?
On the scooters maybe like you said they out there checking out the track and maybe new bumps in the track you feel on the scooter that you won't feel just walking the track.
Regarding different kinds of curbs, what about Portable Rumble Strips???

The only reason Austin Hill got anywhere close to SVG is because of the late cautions. Before that SVG had a huge lead.

Track limits are needed at COTA. Sunday was stupid how far off track everyone was driving.
Love the show today ❤
Drop COTA and Chicago and bring back North Wilkesboro and Rockingham!! See ya at New River All-American Speedway on April 13th!!
I was watching some v8 super car videos yesterday, and I was thing the same thing. Just put narrow tires on the cars at road courses/short tracks.
Pull the thing in and park it. LOL boi is he in for a surprise.
When I went to husets Larson was getting around on a bmx bike.
NASCAR does not need to go to Cota or anymore road courses. 2-3 road/street races a year. All we need.
This setup is awesome. Is Jr. considered Gen X?
Yes.
@@ryann.9636 hearing that brief time of him talking to two millennials and getting along and laughing is awesome.
