Intro song is Indifferent by AKnewGod. It can be found on the artists soundcloud ( / aknewgod . He's got some really nice stuff.
Thanks for this. The prices have all gone up here in 2023!
I wish Moleskine made a classic soft cover pocket with lined pages and all pages perforated to easily tear out. I need the tear out pages but also want the extra pages and closure. I would buy 10 of them at once!
I use the "standard" size Moleskine cahier as my daily journal and as a sketchbook! I love them.
@@SenecaSerpent I agree - I just finished a Leuchtturm that I got on sale. The Moleskine is my "in between" before I replace the other one in the new year!
So glad this came up in my feed! Size differences may come into play when trying to fit into various field notes covers already owned. Thanks for the comparison!
@@SenecaSerpent Noted! Thank you.
I don’t understand why people go crazy for field notes. I always thought MoleSkins were the best of the best in quality and price. I’ve been going nuts trying to pick up some field notes locally in NYC, haven’t had any luck.I’m glad I watched this video I was right the entire time lol.
Manufactured Collectabilty. Good quality, but too many variants.
Same business model as a certain European Knife Company
I think it's just marketing. It appeals to that dudebro who wishes he was Thoreau, but has a normal desk job.
Field Notes is great if you want to support US manufacturing. Which is better than buying the Moleskine, as you say. But it's also worth considering Rhodia notebooks. Same size and format, same number of pages, but using Clairefontaine paper which is made in France, rather than China, and is fabulous quality. Thanks for sharing this video. I only just came across it.
@@SenecaSerpent you will not be disappointed.
This is going to be my go to video everytime i néed a new notebook, thank you very much. Great information
I use the Cahiers in my pocket travelers notebook. Love the stitch bound as it seems to lay flatter. Great review!
Great video your spot on!
Good stuff. Definitely interesting. I suppose I never really looked closely at the paper quality or price as you have so I'm glad you broke them down. I want to make a video this weekend of all my EDC office gear. How do you set up the camera like that? You behind the camera and are reaching? You look comfortable so maybe not. If you're up to give me a tip on this, I'd appreciate it. Thank you buddy.
Great video man. I’ve been using the rite in the rain notebooks personally and I love them from work my pocket notebooks tend to get pretty dirty and sometimes wet so I like knowing I don’t have to worry as much with them and there protected but might look into some of these for my at home writing and other things
@@SenecaSerpent yah man they really are haha but Imma try out some of the moleskins you recommended see how they hold up for my daily use
Thanks for recommending the Exceed notebook. I am extremely pleased with it. Takes pencil as if it's gliding across ice...
+1 for Muji.. hands down the best paper at a very cheap price.
The Moleskine features do look better, I have a load of Field Notes but my next buy will be Moleskine. I’ve only used their larger books previously.
Wow! Field Notes really are second best. Good reviews.
@@SenecaSerpent Yes. I think there are better options here in the UK 👍🏾
Are Exceed stitched binding? Also, I can't find the Muji ones. Do you have a new link?
Is there any chance that you could redo this video for today’s offerings and prices? Thanks for this information, though. It is useful.
I have had a new addition to my family which has taken me away from regular uploads but I will absolutely look into this :). I love field notes and they make some great special editions but I think even now there's still better alternatives to the normal production books.
@@SenecaSerpent Congratulations on your expanding family! I also love field notes, but they are a little expensive for me. I’ve gotten a few smaller notebooks through jetpens, but I haven’t found ones I’m really happy with. Ironically, a few years back, I saw the Marvel movie Captain America: the Winter Soldier and Steve Rogers had a little pocket notebook. Not only was I proud of that, but he had the exact same little pocket notebook that my dad used to use ALL the time. And now I can’t find them anywhere that is easily accessible. I’ve literally only found it on one website but I think you had to order over 100 of them and I think they were around $10 each. So that was a big no for me. 💙💙💙
👍👍
Are composition notebooks comparable?
@@SenecaSerpent that's ok. I use pencils. Thanks!
i bought a bag of mini notebooks, 24 of them for $15 on amazon, they fit in all my edc kits.
that's 63 cents a notebook. scribble, notes, doodles.
not rite in the rains, but who stands in the rain trying to write notes? no one with any sense
