I'm liking Anthem so far. The graphics and scenery are absolutely beautiful. It's Monster Hunter World level. That's a compliment of the highest level. The creature designs are just as incredible. I'd like to shake the hands of the concept artist that came up with such beautiful and deadly designs. The controls and abilities do have a Destiny feel to it rather than a Warframe vibe. You got your projectile, your grenade, your melee, and finally your ultimate ability. What separates this from destiny is the cool down time. So much faster than destiny. If you play it right you can use all of your abilities most of the time while relying little on your actual gun. Movement controls were hard to get a hold of bc how everything is set up. Especially the flying part. It's fun to fly around like iron Man while also dashing around with a jetpack propelling you. I'm still getting the hang of switching from ground to hover without getting shot at or overheating. That's a challenge that I'll enjoy over coming. I wish they'd incorporate a little Dodge roll like in Warframe but nothing is perfect so I'll take the dash evasion. All in all I'm enjoying myself. I just wish there was more to the demo than what's in there. RANGERS UNITE!!!!

With this build in theory you could prime electric Aura on weaker enemy to go fight a legendary with 33% Mark on them. You may not have a acid debuff but in theory the shield should be top priority. Or maybe acid bomb legendary into devastator sniper shot into electric aura.

Nice build :D I ran a full acid build with venom bomb and venom spray last week-end, only with a full team of friends for maximum combo mechanics, it was a total blast to be the Poison Ninja flippin' around ennemies. And since your melee is a natural detonator, all you have to do is wait for the shield to drop and then go crazy. Kinda loved the Whirlwind Sniper to drop shields down by myself before engaging with Vbomb and then following with Vspray if needed.
Wow. Interceptor looks HIGHLY destructive. I didn't underestimate it, but was not too interested. After learning that the combos work differently per javelin, and after seeing this video, i'm DEFINITELY giving that thing a try.
This is the first person I've seen who really knows what they're doing with the interceptor, he makes it look damn fun. Idk why, but I don't like the idea of using acid attacks so I probably won't use this specific build, but I still appreciate the gameplay tips so ty.
Great vid. Quick tip to fellow interceptors: The ult leaves a shadowy apparition of yourself behind on enemies hit during the ult is active - a Dot - which you can utilize to spread the dmg throughout targets!
Thank you for the Interceptor love. I tend to play the non meta, non OP, underplayed classes in games just to prove a point and make a 'weak' class viable and/or amazing. I will main Interceptor in this game
Interceptor seems like a love letter to players that were able to master the Cabal Vanguard of ME3 multiplayer! Haven't played Anthem yet, but the Interceptor class looks like it captures the same high octane combat potential I'm looking for. 👍

Unfortunately didn't have the time to understand the combo system. But after watching this, Interceptor has more diversity than smashing 'V' key. Thank you for the video, will try this build next weekend.

You could equip a priming ability instead of tempest strike to have two primers and do a lot more combos. Melee is all the detonator you need as interceptor, and you can always use blade inscription to boost your base melee damage to help offset losing tempest strike!
Played the demo for over 20 hours and never got an Acid Bomb item for my Interceptor. Was interested in trying it out. I ended up running cryo glaive and Acid Spray. Yes I know they are both primers but I was on always using me melee to detonate. Freeze from afar with Cryo. Get it and detonate. Then use Acid Spray to the rest of the mobs and then detonate that again. Was working great.
Good Video, Interceptor is most definitely my playstyle, it's fast, the combat is super fun, the combos feel so good, dodging feels good too, when the demo ended I was using the devastator and guardian (3 round burst rifle), Venom Spray /Cyro - I'll also be using this build as well, Can't wait for the open demo this friday.
My friend and I were hating on the single shot and charge time of the devastator and then I hit a weak spot of a turret and over half it's health went down, we were like "....oh."
@@Turtlesage-km9ef Yea it really shows when you hit weak points, and if you have an interceptor on your team with "target beacon" you'll do at least 4-5k more damage with that support skill. Although that could be subject to change once full game is out, or it may stay the same.

I like using the "Savage" LMG with the Interceptor. It basically has the firerate of a machine pistol but with more ammo and damage. The spread is big but as you shoot it'll get smaller.
Finally i found someone who know how interceptor should be played - fast moving/dashing MELEE character. Not like other guys who play it like let say ranger and wonder why they died
You can use the electrical version of tempest strike instead and do all that in 1 move, as electricity explodes and wipes out packs of enemies as well. Saving your other slot for a different ability. Edit: The ability is called detonating strike
People, stop complaining. They will improve the servers and smoothness of the game and it will be good. For me it's a perfect game when it comes to style and gameplay I've been waiting for it for a long time. Order made and nothing will change it, I count down the days to the premiere.
I have yet to play it and I want it to be good but if you ask me the demo seems muddied progression wise, and the embarrassing failure of the servers is just a turn off.

Don't just blindly fanboy about the game my dude. There WILL still be problems at launch, just like with any online AAA game. We've only seen a small curated cut of content, there is definitely a lot more good AND bad about this game we haven't seen yet. This is Bioware's first open world multiplayer game, the VIP demo was a disaster and they didn't even know what was going on. They've done nothing to earn your faith that "They will improve the servers and smoothness of the game and it will be good." I'm not saying the game isn't fun, I'm not saying there will be zero improvements before launch. I'm saying you shouldn't just expect everything to be resolved and perfectly ready by launch day. Because that's not happening, I promise you man.

One thing to suggest would be to replace the Tempest Strike; yes, it's a kick-ass damage detonator, but it's going to struggle against those shields? Doesn't the Interceptor have a lightning detonator on the same skill-line? It would mean that going against normal / un-shielded you can throw Venom -> Strike for combo, but against shield you go Strike -> Venom -> Melee for combo. If shield enemy is strong though, guess it's just timing on Strike systems, melee, and general damage, so that you hit with the right skills to spark combo. Can't wait for full release and the loot grind for all these amazing builds! And for now, we don't even know all the Masterwork added abilities! :D
Not normally one to put down on games but I'm getting increasingly glad I followed my 'never pre-order' rule with anthem. If folk are able to build the "ultimate" anything in a video game after a few hours playing it makes me wonder where the long-term point of the game is. It's supposed to be a looter-shooter, the grind to get the 'ultimate' is supposed to be part of the fun
I mean... ultimate is just what he's calling it. Personally I don't think it's a great setup. Cryo glaive and detonating strike are much better IMO as you can detonate with your melee and that gives you two options for priming enemies but there are other options as well. But hey, you to you.
I'm on PC and had no issues with connection the entire time during the demo... sad to hear some people couldn't even play and try it out, I'm sure everything will be fine come launch. Loving the customization and game play so far.. we need a good Grind RNG based hardcore shooter like this, should make for a good play through and end game hunt for loot.
This build is very potent. I use this set up as well. The only difference is that I prefer the shotgun and machine pistol which keeps me close. I tried detonating strike but it didn't ground flying targets like tempest did.
Sadly I didn't get a single acid bomb drop all weekend, only piece of gear that never dropped for me (for interceptor). I found success with a "primer" build with Corrosive Spray and Ice Glaive using the triple dash to close to melee and detonate with the melees. EDIT: For Rally Cry to end up being an interesting choice it should likely prevent future debuffs for 10 seconds after casting. I find that if there is an enemy who can spread elemental debuffs (mostly fire for example) that cleansing it once is really not that great for the cooldown it's on as most enemies can reapply it incredibly quickly, certainly not worth giving up a pretty sizable damage increase that can hop to other targets if the first one dies.
I believe it may be the animation colliding with an awkward piece of terrain. On a flat surface you bring the leg downward in a very wide strike and I believe if you hit a hill side or between rocks and such might just be a collision between your animation model and the walls or angles on your side. Plus it seems you're supposed to use it a little higher than what some people do.
@@whoahanant THAT's interesting. I thought it was a timing thing that rewards you with a stronger kick. So I wasted a good amount of time trying to replicate it
@@RadianMeasure This is just my best guess but it would make the most sense considering their terrain vs model collision is on point. Never once fell through the map nor glitched through any rocks or large pieces. So I think the animation is just trying to pull the whole animation off while forcibly being shortened.
I'm curious about this too, both detonating strike and tempest strike do that animation, I don't know how it works, but while detonating hits an enemy it just explodes after 4 seconds dealing tons of aoe dmg, but when that animation pops, I instantly killed those shielded snipers in tyrant mines on hard, happened many times, I'm pretty sure it's a stronger attack, not sure how to proc it..
I did not get the grenade type primer unfortunately in the demo, but I do not like the tempest rush ability. In the Demo when running with my friend that uses storm I went The Searching glaive and the shuriken you can throw four times. Then used my melee to combo. BUT I will admit, I had no idea about the cooldown thing I will try that again next demo!
Venom spray is better then tempest strike it does bigger aoe damage hitting more enemy's and also primes them if it doesnt kill them. Which even on hard red bar enemy's died from it and elites were almost one shotted and primed then you get venom aura. Then you run seeking shirken. Which helps litterly take out any shielded enemy. Or when they fix spark dash that would be good to run to close gap or charge into big group or enemy's primed since its s detonator then spray everything that's their with venom spray it's pretty nice combo.
yea venom spray is good but it needs to be fixed. it goes off in the direction your character is facing rather than where your camera is facing. with all the moving around you do as the interceptor this becomes super annoying. if they fix it i will probably use it over tempest strike.
@@jimg741 I dont know I was moving like crazy on interceptor and never had issue landing spray with how wide of spray it does shoot out in front of you as in which way your character Is facing but I've never had issue where I missed the spray. 9 out of 10 times I'm facing the pack or enemy's already spark dash is what I cant wait to play in full game. I've seen videos of newer game model not the demo version where it auto charges enemeys in your sights even from in the air strait down to them. Where in demo you only get horizontal spark dash and not vertical ones. I like the look of tempest strike it just doesnt hit enough enemies for me unless you jump attack it. Then it does like a cone in front of you. Where it only hits like 1-2 enemy's without jumping near you. I ran both back and forth and spray would aoe trash clear by far better then tempest.
This is exactly what I was using too, against those hunters with huge shields in the stronghold I'd throw a targeting beacon on them and then searching glaive which left about 10% of their shield remaining lol it's amazing, and with venom spray that thing is insane for groups.
I was missing that damn Venom Spray so many times, fuck's sake. but I liked it the most honestly, it MELTS groups of enemies (Tyrant Mine when the boss climbs and adds come out of the cave). Plus priming them (when it primed)
@@hidoshi1994 I figured the best way to use it is to aim with your gun first since it will turn your character towards where you're aiming then use your venom spray. Helps a lot
one thing i really want to see in the future is the possible presence of swords/hammers.... with priming or detonating capabilities ;)... since guns are pretty much boring and simple ad clearer, i feel a larger variety in melee options might be a cool addition, in the future of course. the thought of priming a group of enemies and then slamming down with a massive double sided hammer - while running colossus - would get my jollies off. thinking on that... i think my thicc boi will be running a 'blood ravens' color pallet.... "Hippity Hoppity where the fuck is my property!?"
Will the interceptor have different melee weapon choices appearances ??? Id really hate if its not changeable i would like to use axes or longer blades.
If I wanted to play interceptor, would you recommend a shotgun or machine pistol? I like the idea of the machine pistols mobility, but the shotgun can be very helpful for lots of damage.
Detonating Strike ist much better for killing groups of mobs and your normal melee is a detonator already.... Detonating Strike for groups and Cryo Glaive for single target ;)

I had just unlocked Interceptor at the last moment. Only got to give it a spin for a few minutes. Will keep this in mind, thank you!
Replace tempest strike with "Detonating strike", mobs will be vaporised. you dont need Tempest as a detonator as your normal melee functions as one.
But detonating strike isn't a primer or datonator

It doesn't prime or explode if you use it against a shielded target, I tried it many times and the ability always fizzled making it useless.

I think you can craft acid bomb if you get the blueprint for it? Never checked but you can get certain blueprints from challenges.

One of the many reasons why the interceptor is my main is that im a db Main in Monster Hunter so this is Just the natural flow of events.

anyone know why sometimes the jumping tempest strike attacks instantly, but sometimes he/she floats there charging the kick first? (like @1:41)
I believe it may be the animation colliding with an awkward piece of terrain. On a flat surface you bring the leg downward in a very wide strike and I believe if you hit a hill side or between rocks and such might just be a collision between your animation model and the walls or angles on your side.
Plus it seems you're supposed to use it a little higher than what some people do.
@@whoahanant THAT's interesting. I thought it was a timing thing that rewards you with a stronger kick. So I wasted a good amount of time trying to replicate it
@@RadianMeasure This is just my best guess but it would make the most sense considering their terrain vs model collision is on point. Never once fell through the map nor glitched through any rocks or large pieces. So I think the animation is just trying to pull the whole animation off while forcibly being shortened.
I'm curious about this too, both detonating strike and tempest strike do that animation, I don't know how it works, but while detonating hits an enemy it just explodes after 4 seconds dealing tons of aoe dmg, but when that animation pops, I instantly killed those shielded snipers in tyrant mines on hard, happened many times, I'm pretty sure it's a stronger attack, not sure how to proc it..

Sincs you're constantly melee detonating, isn't it more effective to work with two primers as abilities?
I did not get the grenade type primer unfortunately in the demo, but I do not like the tempest rush ability. In the Demo when running with my friend that uses storm I went The Searching glaive and the shuriken you can throw four times. Then used my melee to combo. BUT I will admit, I had no idea about the cooldown thing I will try that again next demo!
Can we get a Ranger build? I think people are overlooking the class because it’s a starter class
Venom spray is better then tempest strike it does bigger aoe damage hitting more enemy's and also primes them if it doesnt kill them. Which even on hard red bar enemy's died from it and elites were almost one shotted and primed then you get venom aura. Then you run seeking shirken. Which helps litterly take out any shielded enemy. Or when they fix spark dash that would be good to run to close gap or charge into big group or enemy's primed since its s detonator then spray everything that's their with venom spray it's pretty nice combo.
yea venom spray is good but it needs to be fixed. it goes off in the direction your character is facing rather than where your camera is facing. with all the moving around you do as the interceptor this becomes super annoying. if they fix it i will probably use it over tempest strike.
@@jimg741 I dont know I was moving like crazy on interceptor and never had issue landing spray with how wide of spray it does shoot out in front of you as in which way your character Is facing but I've never had issue where I missed the spray. 9 out of 10 times I'm facing the pack or enemy's already spark dash is what I cant wait to play in full game. I've seen videos of newer game model not the demo version where it auto charges enemeys in your sights even from in the air strait down to them. Where in demo you only get horizontal spark dash and not vertical ones. I like the look of tempest strike it just doesnt hit enough enemies for me unless you jump attack it. Then it does like a cone in front of you. Where it only hits like 1-2 enemy's without jumping near you. I ran both back and forth and spray would aoe trash clear by far better then tempest.
This is exactly what I was using too, against those hunters with huge shields in the stronghold I'd throw a targeting beacon on them and then searching glaive which left about 10% of their shield remaining lol it's amazing, and with venom spray that thing is insane for groups.
I was missing that damn Venom Spray so many times, fuck's sake. but I liked it the most honestly, it MELTS groups of enemies (Tyrant Mine when the boss climbs and adds come out of the cave). Plus priming them (when it primed)
@@hidoshi1994 I figured the best way to use it is to aim with your gun first since it will turn your character towards where you're aiming then use your venom spray. Helps a lot
one thing i really want to see in the future is the possible presence of swords/hammers.... with priming or detonating capabilities ;)... since guns are pretty much boring and simple ad clearer, i feel a larger variety in melee options might be a cool addition, in the future of course.
the thought of priming a group of enemies and then slamming down with a massive double sided hammer - while running colossus - would get my jollies off.
thinking on that... i think my thicc boi will be running a 'blood ravens' color pallet.... "Hippity Hoppity where the fuck is my property!?"

my venom bomb is more like a spray, i cant shoot it far at all for some reason. Has the range been changed since launch?
I played like 15h of the VIP demo on my Intercepter and never dropped Acid Bomb :D

If I wanted to play interceptor, would you recommend a shotgun or machine pistol? I like the idea of the machine pistols mobility, but the shotgun can be very helpful for lots of damage.
I I liked the shotgun. It allowed me to get in and out faster and did note damage quicker

Detonating Strike ist much better for killing groups of mobs and your normal melee is a detonator already....
Detonating Strike for groups and Cryo Glaive for single target ;)
