My understanding is that there were MAGAhats present for the Trump speech and since those 'supporters' weren't paid to remain throughout the function they left to find a cheap coffee shop or fast fry outlet nearby before retreating back into the tree lines and up onto the hill tops.
@Don.Challenger Maybe but this year's libertarian candidate is just awful. An absolute disgrace that wouldn't be worth electing even if we did have the votes for it.

@@augustday9483 trump didn't offer the libertarians any compromises on policy. If he had wanted to compromise with them he would have offered areas where he could meet them halfway on policy. The man already kept every one of his promises, except being able to finish the wall. How hard does a man have to stand against the evil, then to deliver what he promised. You should offer him some respect and think about what he said. We agree on so much.
The simple question that libertarians have to ask themselves is this. Considering your libertarian world view - is a world where Biden is president or where Trump is president more in line with your libertarian world views? Because if you don't vote for that one, you could likely end up with the other. Then how would your libertarian values be served? Whatever it is that you want - you're NOT going to get it. That's NOT on the table of possible or potential outcomes. You ONLY _get_ to choose between the possible outcomes that ARE actually on the table. And at this point, it is ONLY Trump or Biden. Given your libertarian values, it should not be a hard choice and it should not be an issue to vote for that. Because if you don't - you could likely end up with the far worse option. And it would be cold comfort to say "I didn't vote for either!" as the world crumbles as a consequence of not voting for the other outcome. Or maybe that's just me. If it takes "voting for the lesser of two evils" (I don't even think it's that bad) to avert getting crushed by the worse of two evils, I don't have a problem with that. You're GOING to get one of them, you might as well do what you can to avert the worst possible outcome. The least worst option is still BETTER and preferred over than the worst outcome. But maybe that's just me. I don't get why people are so challenged by that. If you are GOING to lose a finger or you are GOING to lose an arm, why would you not choose the finger? How would it be going around without an arm because you refused to choose the finger? I don't see how it is controversial to make that choice. But maybe that's just me.
Very good comment. I totally agree. MY VOTE HAS ALWAYS BEEN FOR THE MAN THAT LOVES AMERICA, HER PEOPLE, OUR FLAG. OUR CONSTITUTION, AND PREVENTS WARS. AND THAT MAN IS ONLY DONALD J TRUMP. GOD AND TRUMP FOR 2024!
The problem with your comment is....EVERYONE thinks like this. "3rd party can't win, so i'm not voting for them" thats why 3rd party doesn't get votes. On top of that media doesn't really cover 3rd party candidates plus its very hard for 3rd party's to even get on the ballot. I hate that everyone just votes for "the lesser of two evils" when you litreally have a 3rd option. in the end though your comment is correct, we'll pretty much always going to be a 2 party system and i doubt a 3rd one will ever win.
I can genuinely say it really doesn't matter to me, both Republicans and Democrats have supported some things I like and go against other things I like. Many of the things I think are major issues have bipartisan anti-libertarian support. I was initially a fan of Trump in 2016 but he didn't do anything to make me like him that Biden hasn't also done. I've always felt more culturally right wing but in the last few years MAGA has made it a point to be just as annoying as the woke left. Overall, I know I won't get what I want. The way the electoral system is set up my vote for president doesn't actually matter unless the cities in my state have a huge culture change and even if my vote does matter I'm likely to get a little bit of what I want while America keeps dropping bombs and racking up debt. Overall, real change comes from voting local, voting with your feet, and voting with your wallet. The Trump presidency should have made it clear that the separation of powers and bureaucratic mechanisms of the federal government means the president really doesn't have that much authority to change things (as it should be).
This is only relevant if you think the only thing that vote margins affect is who wins a particular position in national office. If you think that the marginal votes (or even lack thereof) have no signalling effect that can be used elsewhere, sure, but that isn't the view or the operational strategy of the LP

Neither term was very good, mate. They each had their severe flaws (in different departments). Economy? Good in different areas. You can’t berate or give too much credit to the President. Nowadays, global state of the world impacts the economy *a lot* and it tends to be out of a President’s hands (Covid for Trump, Russia invading Ukraine for Biden, and OPEC being OPEC and being annoying *always* ) (Also the economy *other than inflation* is pretty good right now. Inflation is something the entire world is suffering from, and the US lesser than most- you need an external AND internal perspective on economy in modern times). Addressing the public? both are incredibly unbearable to listen to and do not represent the American people well- (which is an important role. Trump- unnecessarily arrogant and unprofessional, Biden- the man can’t finish a coherent sentence 80% of the time). International Policies: Honestly- I think Trump did pretty bad in that department. (And his recent favoring of *anti-west/american dictators* is insanely concerning). Biden gets trashed a bit too much in this category, in my opinion considering Russia has been invading European countries since the 90’s and there’s nothing he could’ve done to stop Putin since Putin wasn’t stopped in 2008, 2014, 2014-2022. And clearly, Russia had *quite* some involvement with the middle east as well, though Israel was about to establish a *very* good deal with Saudi Arabia (unfortunate). So he’s not much better than Trump in handling things (but in my opinion, he supports the right “teams-“ aka: not our enemies). Immigration: Ohhhh yeah Biden admin not doing too hot. I have sympathy for the innocent illegal immigrants- *but* the law is the law, come on. On the flip side- *a wall isn’t stopping much.* Cartels get drugs through the border with ease, immigrants go around, above, under, or through car ports. A wall is only a remedy for a symptom- you’re not solving the actual problem (AKA, if you’re not going to commit to the problem- a wall isn’t going to fix it). Abortion: I think they’re both moderate in this department. Some Democrats are crazy with it, some Republicans are crazy against it, both of them haven’t leaned into the extreme one way or another respective to their parties. Theres a ton more policies, but I think we need to look at the world during Trump and the world during Biden. Things that are *out of America’s hands.* Trump had COVID totally bring chaos, China being annoying, (Russia vs Ukraine, but he- like Obama - thought ignoring it would be a good idea). Biden has Russia vs Ukraine, Israel vs Palestine (though Russia absolutely ignited that one too), Afghanistan (which both he and Trump were planning to do, and in my opinion was going to be messy no matter what. It’s Afghanistan- not disney land), and massive *global* inflation (we weren’t even hit “that” bad, and it was pretty bad). There’s actually a lot of times in history where something happened (out of a President’s hands) and the public just placed responsibility on the President. I’d say it has happened to Trump to an extent ( *especially* the last two years) and *definitely* Biden (my word he definitely drew the short straw- and he isn’t the most “able bodied” for such a tense time either). Policy wise- they both got their ups and downs (like all democrats vs republicans, there’s always a piece from the other missing).
So does liberty. You dislike liberty? _Progressive Democrats_ stole the word "liberal" in the 1920s when "progressive" gained some bad press, so they started saying it meant "freedom FROM" things instead of "freedom TO". "Freedom from poverty", etc. So when it came time to come up with a word that meant the opposite of authoritarian, political scientists chose "libertarian". So the party adopted the terminology that means "anti-authoritarian".
DJT is smart. He knows many will listen, whether they want to publicly acknowledge their choice or not. He faced the crowd and stated his offer, recognizing these citizens. He always keeps his promises.
Trumps speech didn't get him any votes but the LPs choice in presidential nominee sure as hell did. 2024 is a wash but 2028 is a huge opportunity. Time for the actual Libertarians to get involved and active. For most of us that means being active and being delegates but it's time for our promonent figures to actually step the fuck up. You can't complain that you didn't get the nomination when you ran a guy that can't speak, and not in a Biden or RFK way. Rectinwald has 0 public speaking skills. Dave Smith should acknowledge that he should have ran and this is in large part his fault. Tom Woods and Scot Horton didn't step up either and need to. This is a huge set back. The party can't even win the majority of Libertarians support what the fuck is the point? The caucus system is clearly not working and enables these wokeists to exert control as a minority.

I don't think trump took the presidency seriously.
do you need a tissue?
Gift I appreciate... embarrassed, agree, unfortunately. I appreciate the un seriousness you mentioned. Like one poster above... getting Libertarians to agree on something, is like trying to herd cats. I added like herding sore-tailed cats in a room full of rocking chairs, smh.
No one else except President Donald Trump would dare walk into the Libertarian Convention and request that they nominate him as their Candidate for President.
TRUMP 2024!!!
A guy with one name, Toad, got 7 delegates. Trump got 6. What a loser.
Nobody else would be that stupid.
@@terrencekane8203 Well one thing is for certain, Trump won't hold that against the Libertarians when he wins in November and then assembles his Cabinet in early 2025.

Didn’t they nominate a guy that supported vaccine mandates for employers and open borders?
Libertarians are pro-open borders. Building a wall is not a Libertarian position as well as decreasing legal immigration is not a Libertarian position either it's a paleo-conservative position.
trump's logic is amazing and reflects his own outlook on life. He tells the libertarians that they can win by abandoning what they believe in and support him. He sees winning as the only end, even if you have to sell out you values to do it.
It's called making compromises, which is necessary in ANY relationship. If you wait until you can magically get everything you want and nothing less, you'll be waiting forever.
Compromise and get SOME of what you want, or refuse to play, lose, and get NOTHING.
@@augustday9483 trump didn't offer the libertarians any compromises on policy. If he had wanted to compromise with them he would have offered areas where he could meet them halfway on policy. Instead he offered figureheads to try to make them feel included, even though the policy decisions would still be in his (trump's) hands. This isn't compromising. Its window dressing.
The man already kept every one of his promises, except being able to finish the wall. How hard does a man have to stand against the evil, then to deliver what he promised. You should offer him some respect and think about what he said. We agree on so much.
The wall was build but stop by RINOs and Democrats to completed.
A lot of what he promised isn’t stuff that Libertarians support,
@@corvacopia We are about to lose the republic, and libertarians are nit picking, and dividing. Not friends
Hope this is harbinger of 2024. More boos for Trump.
Trump is in the wrong building.
AND THAT MAN IS ONLY
DONALD J TRUMP.
Dude, inflatipn was 1.9 per ent when trump left office, now its 9.1 🤦♀️
It's come way down to around 3%. Get your facts straight.

What was it about not being fleeced by the government that prompted you to think Trump has nothing to offer the country? The record low unemployment, the cheap gas, the affordable groceries? Nothing to offer?
Offer to whom? The mass of morons that populate the Libertarian Party? The people who get 3% of the vote with their SuPeRiOr policies? All they care about is the ability to get as stoned as humanly possible, legally. What profound priorities.
A room full of people who refuse to take bullshit from both conservatives and democrats is still not a bad congregation, in my opinion
Keep getting your three percent every four years 😅.
Oh, man. He owned libertarians bigly
The only libertarian who can articulate a reasonable platform is Dave Smith. I believe Dave’s opinion that most libertarians have a high IQ, but the maturity level is dull normal! Our founding fathers are as close to libertarian as a society can get & still function! Treating Trump this way is bitting the hand that feeds you!
Most Libertarians I've encountered (like Marxists) are overly enamored with their own supposedly superior IQ, so much so that the Left has habitually used that to get many to side with them. "You're too smart to associate with those stupid conservative Jesus people. You belong here, with your intellectual peers."

Probably the last time any presidential candidates outside of the Libertarian party will visit their campaign. Disrespectful to both RFK and Donald. They elected Chase Oliver (former liberal elite democrat), who ran and won with the slogan "armed and gay". Oliver also says about the open border: "if you're coming here to work and be peaceful, it's not my business". So, he's just like Joe, turn a blind eye to the border. Let that small party live in their own world.

President Trump.. four years of peace and prosperity.
Joe Biden.. three years of total chaos and failure. Trump 2024 🇺🇸 Save America

There’s a reason Libertarian starts with the word “Lib”
Usually socially liberal & fiscally conservative. Mixture, but has a range from near anarchists to moderate.
Yeah, Latin. Stop calling leftists liberal when they aren't.
Ain't nothing liberal about Liberals.
DJT is smart. He knows many will listen, whether they want to publicly acknowledge their choice or not. He faced the crowd and stated his offer, recognizing these citizens. He always keeps his promises.
We need a REAL libertarian in the White House, not settling for the compromise that is Trump
If you had your way, we'd descend even further into Orwellian totalitarianism.

I think he knew he was going to a confrontation. But he also believes confrontation is the best way to get results.
Where was FJB? Hiding.
He thought Libertarians would welcome him with cheers. Reality is a beatch.
Do you think he cared? How much more publicity did this get him?
