What it takes to play like this ( perhaps after a long flight)
I love the focus and musicianship so true to the sprit of Schubert.
The clear sound and clean articulation are compelling too.
The flute is in the greatest of hands and so are we when hearing James Galway.
What a career and for sheer brilliance I liken it to Paul MacCartney !
Two valuable talents of similar age to grace the world and enhance our lives.

Look up some of the other great players like Rampal, Moyse, and Pahud. Also, it's not right after a long flight, he's taking at least a day to relax and practice before the big event. I did a sport where it was sure that way - you took a day off after the long flight because if you competed right the day after, you might as well not bother. You'd not do very well.

I’m familiar with all those players and many more.
I know also about jet lag. It can last several days.
I chose to express my appreciation of James Galway and that in no way discounts other great flautists.
