Hi Brittany, Thank you for sharing. I had the BIONESS L300. I had 7 great years with it hiking all over the US and Canada. (I am a 68 year old male with Multiple Sclerosis.) Over that time the costs were $8000. Was worth every cent. I had to stop using it after 7 1/2 years. That was 10 years ago. My MS had gotten worse so I wasn't putting enough pressure on the sensor. When it did work, I had to turn the juice up so high it would BURN me. When electrodes burn, you get in the habit of just using your good leg and putting all your weight on a cane. I found out from Tara Tobias sight that is a common occurrence with the L300. Right now I am using the STEP-SMART from Insightful Products. For the most part it is OK. I n the past 24 years i have tried 15 gizmos to lift my foot and help me walk. I am always searching for the latest.
Hello Brittani, I watched this video with my mother who has Multiple Sclerosis, and she has tried the Bioness device with her medical physicans and really enjoys how much it helps with her balance and walking. I really appreciate your review, it helped her think of the cons aswell because she looks forward to getting this device one day. I am setting up a GoFundMe for her to acquire a L300 Go someday and I just wanted to personally thank you for your time to pass on genuine personal experience and knowledge on new technology like this. I definitely see them (Bioness) coming out with an even newer, smoother design for this thing in the next 5 years considering the advancements in research they've been making with their integrated therapy system. I just want to help my mom push forward as she retains a healthy diet, regular exercise, and therapy; a device like this certainly aids in the everyday function for people with deficiencies.
I've just started therapy with mine for cidp and I was considering buying one for home use because of how much it's helping in PT. I'm an adaptive horse rider, and we've been doing exercises to see if it will help with riding as well as walking. Thank you for this video, I've been wondering the long term benefits.
Hello Brittany, thank you for this information. I'm considering getting the BIONESS L300 and appreciate the pros and cons information provided. Good information!
Hi Brittani - great videos on the Bioness L300go for foot drop. I have one as well , have had since 2018 and never used much as the stim was too painful. In 2024, finally using daily with adjustments made by the Bioness rep. How does yours work for going up and down steps? Pros and cons on that piece of mobility would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi from Michigan. I just received the Bioness and I can’t get beyond the magnetic pull towards the ground , making it very difficult to move my foot ( hence a trip hazard). Also it Iis pulling my left foot so far left that I look ridiculous when walking. I notice that the cuff moves easily which messes up everything for me. I’ve tightened it as far as I can. I want to put the cuff on and go. Instead I have to try 200 different iterations before it seems even a little normal. Too much time.
I've had a Bioness for a few months, and I completely agree. I've had all of the issues except for the problem with moisture. Thanks for the tips for beach wear. I hope they make a sleeker design. The walk-aid is not as bulky.
I agree with everything you said about the device, especially the bulk and how hard it is to fit under jeans. Overall it's a good device. Electrodes are very expensive in my opinion. I didn't know you had to have a new script annually. I guess i will be running into that issue here soon. Thanks for the review.
Yes, I totally agree that the electrodes are expensive. It's unfortunate for sure. I usually buy in a year bulk to get a small discount. As far as driving, I use the device on my non-dominant foot and so it doesn't affect my driving. A lot of time I will turn the device off while driving, so it doesn't trigger during this time.
Hello and thank you for the video review. I have MS and suffer from foot drop also. I also live in MI and the snow is so hard for me to walk in 😩This device sounds awesome but I’m having trouble locating it. Can you please post a link?
bionessrehab.com Follow that link and click the tab that says "Learn About L00 Go." You can call up the company and request a trial. They typically will meet you at a physical therapist office and let you try the device to see if it works for you. Hope that helps!
I walk with a walker and have hyper extension of knee and foot drop from a stroke i suffered one year ago. Do you think this device will be helpful for my condition? Presently I wear an AFO
It sounds like it could be helpful for you. You can call up the company and request a trial. They typically will meet you at a physical therapist office and let you try the device to see if it works for you.
I have experience with an early model Bioness for Drop Foot that required a sensor in my shoe to send a signal to the cuff to stimulate the required nerves and found it very high maintenance as far as batteries etc were concerned. I currently use a Turbo AFO I'm on my 5th one. they are good in design but I think a better more resilient material could be used and you are limited to laced footwear but it is very good for driving. How do you find the new edition L300 for driving ? Do you know of anyone who has used the knee stabilizer or where I can find a review ? Thank you
Hey! I never used the earlier models so unfortunately I can't compare, but I haven't found the device too high maintenance. It's definitely a trade off though, there is some maintenance as far as charging, replacing broken parts as needed, but in turn I can wear different shoes and walk easier on uneven terrain. As far as driving, I use the device on my non-dominant foot and so it doesn't affect my driving. A lot of time I will turn the device off while driving, so it doesn't trigger during this time. Also, I unfortunately do not know anyone who has used the thigh device, however if it's something you are interested I definitely recommend calling the company and asking for a trial. That's what I did for the L300 Go. A specialist met with me, let me try out the device for a while and answered all my questions.
hi I am a bioness user, unfortunatly the bad news if you need a new battery you have to purchase a new stimulation device, you just cant change the battery.I had this issue with my original L300.
Thank you for this in-depth review. As an MS patient I have been referred to use this tool and I am researching potential solutions. Thank you!

I have used it while driving.

Ambetter 80% covered mine which was a big surprise. So it’s worth getting a prescription and trying.
That's awesome!
Thank you for the pros. I wasn't aware of the cons as it relates to wearing the dives with pants.
You’re welcome!
Can you do a video on how you clean the cuff?
I have the deviece but I don't know how to clean it.
How do you clean it ?
Hey Brittani - thank you for the video. Have you ever experienced any type of skin burning or major skin irritation from the device?
You’re welcome! I personally have never experienced anything too serious. I have had mild skin irritation but nothing more than that.
Thank you spp much for the review
