you probably dont care but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can stream all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Have been watching with my girlfriend recently =)
Thank, Monty! I am not a musician and use the dbx286s for spoken word. However, I can’t think of any reason why you couldn’t use it for live vocals at your gigs. The dbx has one of the cleanest preamps I have heard! I crank the gain to around 4 or 5 o’clock to gain my very passive, gain hungry Rode Procaster, and it is clear as it can be.
That is one of the benefits of the dbx is the preamp is powerful enough to drive a quiet microphone like the Sm7b! No CloudLifter or Dynamite stick needed.
@@towlermedia thanks man, could you still add one anyway? 😅 Also, are you using the interface preamp as Well as the dbx or bypassing it OR does that depend how you plug it in
@@_Trakman Sure! You could still use one. Would need to lower the preamp gain on the dbx. The dbx preamp provides clean gain w no noise, so a CloudLifter/ dynamite stick would be an unnecessary expense.
I am not a musician, so I am not the best to answer that question. It does have both XLR & 1/4” inputs. But I would think not, as this unit is more geared towards process a single, vocal input.
Yes, use the line-in on your audio interface. I use the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and I connect the output of dbx286s to the input of the audio interface. Hope this helps!

Thanks for this. Can I use this for live vocals at my gigs. I need a preamp before going into my pa.

would you need a cloudlifter / dynamite stick - with the dbx and the sm7b

Hey my friend! Can i connect my mic and my keyboard/piano to this unit at the same time?

Hi on your interface do you put on linein on your interface.ThankYou

that gain at the end was -10 (minus 10 from what?)
That is the output gain of the unit. What is being sent to the audio interface in my case.
@@towlermedia oh i see, i guess the eq compression etc drives the volume up and it needs to be trimmed back yeah
Need to jack up your dbfs for RUclips as you are overly quiet. You are coming in as -13.5dBfs which is far too low.
Thanks for the feedback. Will make necessary adjustments.
To bad you don't know how to set it up right! Sorry to say@
Got sound to travel through it. Have learned more since then. Need to do an update video. Thanks for watching.
