Hi couple questions as im new to this and need to do similar to plastic bumper..
Was it a plastic primer ?
Did u use a base coat and clear over or what did u use in gun ?
That's a Savage tip with the clips from the cardboard box. I'll remember that. All the best from Athlone.
Já vi usarem tela metálica.
I was looking bumper repair videos for myself so i can save money from buying parts and always con-artist ripoff auto shops and find your video the most helpful, love it and very easy to follow tips. thank you so much
your videos gave us the confidence to buy a salvage car for only 40% of the retail price. My son and I are doing the work. I used the 2 part clear epoxy to fix a cracked headlight then followed your video for restoring headlights- $10 fix for a part costing $600 new. Tomorrow we start on the cracked front bumper cover. We would never think about doing this kind of work before your videos. PS- the repair estimate for the damage was more than $3000- we think we can fix everything for less than $100.
Hey that's sounds awesome and you are getting to do the work yourself! Thanks for the nice comment!
Look why not plastic weld it and done? ╮(─▽─)╭
I think he was trying to make it stronger.
so i has started to repair 2 vauxhall vxr bumpers that i bought for 100€ each from the uk.
these one's cost new nearly 700€ each...
without the paint job it is done for 25€ with following this video's :D
@@DHarris240sx - Becoz it's not really a DIY job. PLASTIC WELD by a Pro. is Quite Expensive - more than the Total Cost of the Repair by the M4M Ladz - if U use ColorMatch rattle cans. Most DIY folks Don't have a Compressor lying round !
🤔 Thinks: an old vacuum cleaner and some Duct tape and a few pipes with gradually smaller diameters.....then U could....... 😉
Thank you so much for taking time to make and post this video!! I LOVE that you use supplies from things we already have, or can easily find. Thank you!!
Cracking video!! I watched the others video as well and gave me so much confidence to do the repair myself with spray can. Gone ahead and did. bish, bash, bosh. Saved £500 and now I have a full kit for more repairs. Thank you!!
Nice video - short, no unnecessary talking (really appreciate that) and good info. THANKS.
Your work is so clear, simple but most of all, gives me so much confidence to this on my own.
Beautiful work. Great job explaining steps and logic behind the process. Thank you!!
Great video, also checked out your spray can repair one and you’ve filled me with hope! Keep up the awesome work!
This is the simple approach I've been looking for. Brilliant idea using the packing staples!
Terrific repair, - heating the carton staples to melt into the plastic is genius. Plastic window screen mesh in place of bandage gauze also works well.
Thank you for the amazing simple yet working DIY fix!
Nice!! Them headlights just need to be cleared now 👍
Man I've watched 3 of your videos and am more impressed with your work and skills than any other channel. I subbed hands down and range that notification bell!!
Thanks a million for sharing your work. Its easy, simple & cost effective. Cheers!..
Great work, an awesome result, there is no evidence of the damage at all, well done !! x.
Those metal clips are a great idea, no more drilling holes and zip tying!!!
Jesus! Zip ties are the worst method ever. Unless the intention is to make the repaired part look like Boris Karloff's, Frankenstein! LOL 😂
Use basic soldering iron, anything from 30W to 100W, with a flat tip, will do just fine and it's dirty cheap. If you want to go fancy there's flat and broad plastic solder tips. Which make it even easier!
Using the video case as an example, no welding "material" is needed. Just the soldering iron and 5 minutes of your time. To make life easier, some aluminum tape on the front will keep it nice and tight while soldering on the back.
If done carefully most probably the front would be good enough to be left "as it is" in most cheap car repairs, almost unnoticeable after soldering.
Zip ties could be used as solder material or even to bridge larger gaps also soldered, but that's it. ;-)
Excellent home repair. Thanks!!
all your vids I have watched are absolutely amazing especially the curb rash one . Thank you so much for all your videos and please do lots more.
You make it look to easy. Might have to give it a try. Thanks for the informative video 🙏

Thankyou for all of your advice! I have an Escalade ,used but l Love it!!Already done some detailing..l have the small scratches, that will grow big..The plastic bumper, on going at soon..(l have little holes in my side mirrors...l know l have to use bondo..but l want to treat them gentle!!Thankyou again for advice!!!
Great video brother! It's really incredible what you can do with epoxies elbow grease! It came out looking amazing! We just did a how to on a fiberglass bumper with similar techniques. Thanks for sharing your experience and keep em coming!
Absolutely brilliant video.

Bumper Stitches!!! Excellent.
Yet again, you are a hero!

Great work mate🧰🧰
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing your skills.
great job man
I'm highly impressed!
Beautiful work
Respect. Great work
2 cents on the way! ;-)
When you pulled out the soldering iron I was convinced you were going to do what's reasonable and logical... Solder the broken edge back into shape! Damn I was surprised you didn't! It's so much easier and way more efficient. After being solidly conformed to it's shape then you can add whatever reinforcing layers and methods. But that would be done over a repaired surface. BTW for a crack that size it would take about 5 minutes, top! ;-)
One more tip. For a case like this. Use aluminum tape, on the front side, to hold it together while you repair it from the back side. Cheers
Just found your channel. OMG your great. I have subscribed. Wu Hu. Taking the scary out of body repairs.

Very well done man
Super awesome job!
Amazing job !
Thanks. You just helped me out alot
This is more enjoyable then those 4-10 episode of restoration videos out there
Great idea with melting staples into the bumper !!
Absolute Madlad
Epoxy does not bond chemically to polypropylene bumper. It only creates a mechanical bond, and the bumper at one point in time may crack again due to constant impact, or if the metal staples you used dislodge somehow. In order to form chemical bond you need to use polyurethane resin. This is better than epoxy but you have to find the kind that stays flexible. Or better yet use plastic welder.
Top man. Thank you.
your videos are excellent snd have saved me hundreds of moneys
Great tips thank you
Awesome work

Looks awesome I need mine doing
Well oil beefed hooked!! Great video. Liked and subscribed.
Aye, I could do with a bit of FIG JAM too. Feck I'm good, just ask Mick! 😉
Good job 👏
Great job.
Use a Fiber Glass Patch on Back Side to Give Bumper Extra Strength...
While we're burning money we might as well plate it in gold.
I like your guide, simple yet effective. Just don't mix epoxy or bondo on cardboard, or at least use parchment paper. It will save some material. Porese material like cardboard will soak some portion of epoxy or bondo. It doesn't matter once or twice, but on the long run you can save some money. Keep up the good job ;)
Thank you sir for sharing very useful knowledge. The best..👍👍
Good job bro
Damn nice work
Great job on your video, a plus-plus thumbs up on using some type of metal to reinforce the "crack" I which I could find a perfact match for my paint and use a rattle can. Rather that load my gun up with $$$$ paint for a 3-4" crack Great job
Brilliant 👍
Wow amazing. I have a dodge journey with 2 small cracks and it has come loose off the clips. So I'm being charged almost $2000😭thanks for your video will definately help me.
that looks bloody mint. from what it was.
Wow your talented!!!
so far the most economical fix i have ever seen
Good job paintman
Brilliant!
very useful video
Well done excellent 👍
Great video you in effect did a crude method of plastic welding without a plastic welding kit. Anyway my major thing is how you get the same color code match of your vehicle in aerosol/spray can form. I imagine you have to have the spray gun equipment / compressor to do this. As stores probably match paint only in can form... Be nice to know it can be bought your exact color code in spray can form for small work such as this fix.. Obviously for completely painting a car you want to uses your spray equipment with it in can form to be easier. (though doable either way i was more curious on getting match paint spray cans.)
Crackin job Mate 👍👍👍 (Pun intended)
PERFECT !!!
wow fair play well done and good to have an irish voice for a change lol.
...that was amazing...
Good job
Thank you for your guide. I followed you method, had a massive L shape tear in my bumper. I made mistakes though, one, 1. put too much filler so it's noticeable and 2. Didn't have primer, ordered over the internet, throught it came with primer, but just laquer. I just painted over the filler with my car base coat. However, it doesn't look that bad. I have just orderered primer. What I am going to do next week, is sand of the paint and the excess filler, then I will use primer, 800 wet sand then my base coat, then with the lacquer clear coat. Thankfully, the hard job is done so a small touch up and I don't have to remove the bumper. Also, tried to use the staple method, didn't work out for myself but the epoxy and medical bandage, worked great, rock hard solid.
Just brought some primer so all ready for the weekend. The most important tip I can give is, sand the area well, to flat, then put primer, not to much otherwise you be sanding all day. Mine doesn't look bad, but I want to get rid of the high spot of the filler. PS. I am a female DIY, never have I done this before and this video was very easy for a novice to follow. However, I think I well use my sander to get rid of the filler, it will save me time.
