Grinder blade may break and cause fatal damage to people standing near. if it struck between that bumper.
Using a grinder for Grinding or cutting a plastic or carbon fiber material the friction will melt the material and tries to grab the grinder blade as a result the blade will split in parts and cause fatal injury.

I was a little skeptical when you just started drilling holes in the bumper and applying the epoxy, but after seeing the final result, I am convinced. I have almost everything that you used in the video so I can start to do this myself.

  • @DDEENY

You need to use the type of mesh tape with adhesive on one side to enable it to stick to the surface so that it doesn't move all around as the epoxy is being applied. Optimally you can use fiberglass cloth. Otherwise you can use spray glue on the tape. Then you can apply the epoxy with a stiff, disposable brush instead of a stick to work it into the contours. You also must mix the Bondo/hardener with wiping strokes and not by whipping or stirring because that introduces air bubbles into the Bondo mix. But overall an excellent job.

Extremely thorough and detailed instructions as well as tips and tricks that will certainly give me the confidence to tackle my second bumper repair. The first one was before RUclips and turned out being a mess and a complete failure. Not to mention that I bought so much more of everything than I needed. I was very skeptical that this was going to be even remotely as good as it turned out. I'm not a body guy but I've been in the Auto industry for several years and have seen a variety of repairs. Many repairs similar to this look like garbage. But this was a very well done job. The only downside is the amount of labor involved just to save a few dollars on a bumper cover but I can understand why someone would do this. In the end you know you did a great job and save the customer a little bit of money. Great work guys!

No need to drill any holes anywhere there are better techniques if you think about it,,,,. Where was the flexible paint additive,,,,. Bondo is not flexible,,, you will have at least $250 in materials,,, 12 hours of Labor over the course of 3 days,,,. If you have the Sanders the air compressors and the spray guns,,,. If you lean on it or bump it you'll have to do it again within a year,,,,

I've worked on cars for quite a few years and I saw a few things wrong with this video.
    1) Don't use a grinder as a sander, there's different types of sandpaper and they're numbered, the higher the number, the more rough it is.
    2) if you fold the bondo instead of stirring it, you'll have way less pinholes and you won't have to go over it more than once.
That's pretty much it, I am impressed with the painting, have a nice day 😊

Wow what a result,. My car has a similar damage, just smaller on the open crack...I manage DIY normally, for the first time I am attempting to repair car bodywork...should be interesting..cheers guys for a splendid how to video, will be following your instructions as I proceed. Will take a start and finish photo...

Excellent video! If something like this happens to my car I will watch this video again and follow your steps exactly. It's good to be able to fix things like this yourself...even if you can do some PDR as well with cheap tools you can buy from Ebay. Now I am going to subscribe to your channel because you explain things very well.. Oh...one question. What about if you have the ultra sonic sensors in the bumper?

Should make it default to include tools and materials needed in the Description. Just to make it easier for those of us who already watched the video and need to make the shopping list before we come back to watch it again.
Aside from that, great instructional, Thank you!

Great Shadetree bodywork. Plus makes you feel good that you can do it yourself not pay somebody else to work on your own car
