Its hard not to get hyped for this game. Im hopeful, This will be the next big IP.
I really like how some elements in this game and even some arts from Humanoid Origin reminisce Mass Effect.
I am super excited to dive into the Lore of Exodus when it comes out.
I like the faces in this cinematic much more than the first one they released. They look much more realistic and less cartoony. Environments look amazing too. I want to see what happens with that giant creature. Im starting to look forward to this game. For me it will never replace mass effect, but if it comes out before mass effect 5, then it will probabaly make the wait bit more bearable. Plus competition is always good.
This story reminds me of Jacob's loyalty mission. The characters, art style, and space suits reminds me of the Zeniths in Horizon Forbidden West.
I’m also getting Andromeda vibes. I dug andromeda, but even if you didn’t, the basic story was pretty interesting.

That short story just sounded like a mash up of Mass Effect Andromeda and Jacob's loyalty mission. Maybe Karpyshyn is proving a point lol

I loved this clip, and I had the realization that this game will probably be like those Choose Your Own Adventure books that we read in the 80s. Devs look like my generation, they would remember. Every few pages, there's a choice that took you in a radically different direction, but...no matter what you choose, you're fucked. I wonder if it leans much more toward horror than ME.

Thanks for another great Exodus breakdown, Kala. I’m excited for this one. Looks as if we might get it before the next Mass Effect, and it might hit the same spots in its own unique way. Fingers crossed it’s as good as it looks from here. Honestly some of the story has Andromeda vibes (not necessarily a bad thing IMO) although the game itself looks very different.
This seems to be in terms of story a crossing between Outriders (a good game that has the same premise humanity basically destroys earth and it's forced to find another planet but things don't go well and there is the search for a signal too) and ME Andromeda.
Exodus is the game am most hyped for and that is partly due to you. So thank you for covering Exodus.

Here's what I learned from this title and video... the hero smells bad... and is inexperienced... and we're going to meet his ex... b/c his name is Odus.. we'll see his Ex.. and his inexperience creates a green world. Ex Odus: Green Worlds. I'm all about that deep lore... answering the questions ppl are afraid to ask. :) Seriously tho, as some of the other commenters said, I never heard of this game before... NOW I want to play it. So, thank you.

Yep he's one of the actual writers, his official title is like... consultant or something but they said he's helped design the world overall

I have such an uneasy feeling about this game. I want to believe everything I hear, but it seems so ambitious that I fear we'll either have to wait 5 more years before it's actually out, or that it will fall short of the grand expectations people will have for it. Really hope I'm wrong.

I’m really looking forward to playing EXODUS. These short story videos are great. However, I’m tired of these teases. We need real answers about when this game is releasing and we need more gameplay footage. Right now it feels as if this game is a long way off. 2027 or 2028 would be my guess. I appreciate the world building Archetype Ent. are trying to do but the actual game could and should do the world building.
I hope this game doesn’t get watered down “catered to modern audiences” treatment.

Everything looks really good so far. It would be fantastic to have another sci-fi world emerge and flourish into a beloved series of games and novels. Perhaps, it would also become a soft kick in the butts of Bioware and EA bosses to let the artists do their art.
It looks like Andromeda if it was actually done right. Who needs bioware at this point.

You guys only see it as a mess because you were expecting Origins 2.0, which was never implied to be what you were going to get in the first place.
Wait, was there a new trailer or did I miss something? Was it a creature coming out of the mountain or if it just how someones carved the mountain? You just have a still frame. I wasn't sure if you inferred it or if I missed actual like..."Nah, dog. That son of a b is an animate object." lol.
I miss out on some thing. Like, I... a while ago went to the site and put in my email and stuff in order to get you know the whole, "Hey when the site puts our updates and lore and also, thanks for doing that, we'll remember you when the game comes out." thing. But... I haven't received jack. Could be my fault for not checking my spam email. Wait. Oh, God.
It's in the actual video too. It's a moving rock creature that's alive! It's a prologue story trailer not necessarily a teaser
As a ME fan I am hopeful for Exodus, but every trailer,while visually impressive, just leaves me flat. It seems like they just wholesale ripped off ME Andromeda, but left even the little grand story it had. I hope I’m wrong. Anyway keep up the good work!
Climate change is real, how we affect our home is very real, and this sci-fi story even though it’s fiction could turn out to be quite prophetic if our governments and corporations don’t act. People in power can control the outcome for our home (not unlike the kernel for the ark) which in itself is terrifying.
I'm worried this game will not have character customisation. For me, a game isn't relatable unless I can see myself respented on screen. I can't think of this as a mass effect killer, but another sci Fi space set rendition of Detroit become human.
I say in the beginning of the video that it has a customizable protagonist
I've pretty much given up on Bioware after seeing the new DragonAge. So I'm lookng forward to Exodus far more than ME5.
The switch up is gonna be hilarious if the new dragon age turns out to actually be a good game.

Totally hyped! Though I must say that I have some concerns regarding the art style. It's worrisome, especially when I see the tour guide guy. It's too cartoonist and doesn't suit the themes that the game delves into. Hopefully, it will change, or I might be mistaken 😅😅.

It's definitely giving (scary and desolate) Andromeda more than the original ME trilogy, thus it didn't pick my interest just yet. One of the strongest themes of Mass Effect for me is the diversity of all the different species, with each having their own rich history, and the place of humanity as relative newcomers in an already civilized galaxy.
Exodus seems to be entirely human-centric and focused on uncharted worlds so it's not really a direct ME successor. Also the theme is surprisingly grim and horror-like.
And I really hate to add to the recent trend of complaining so early on, but that whole story of people thinking the planet wasn't toxic and casually removing their masks is so far-fetched...
As I explained in the video they were told it was safe by their colonel who has been intentionally sending people there to die. The short story covers it and I recommend reading it! And yes I know people keep comparing ME and Exodus but it feels unique so far.
It really depends on what you mean by human-centric. The Celestials are evolved from humans but recall 40,000 years have passed and a lot has happened since they were human and we are told they are unrecognisable. Exodus only seems human-centric inasmuch as humans are trying to survive and assert themselves in a galaxy where they are not welcome, in much the same sense as they were not amongst the council races in Mass Effect. Exodus also covers deep themes of evolution and genetic engineering, thing hardly touched upon by Mass Effext. I think it has the potential to surpass Mass Effect in many ways.
@@spellandshield I agree as well. While most of the species that have been revealed have a terrestrial origin, as stated by James Ohlen, you can't really say its "Human centric" anymore when you're dealing with 25,000yrs of evolution.
@@NRV0 I think it is even more time than that and it isn't just conventional evolution, it is also advanced genetic engineering that has fundamentally transformed the Celestials.
@@spellandshield Still the point is @ciaacho1 can't really say its "Human centric". We got 10,000+yrs in Globular Cluster with Sillicates/Daemons, Awakened Animals, Celestials, and whatever the hell Changelings are. Also A.I. seems to be in this new IP universe as well. A very diverse range of species.
Mass effect won't beat it
I discovered mass effect back in the later days of the X360 and I’m glad to see that Exodus is going to be like Mass Effect like in the early years and actually be something original and something more beyond for the years to come. Glad to have subbed to you Kala!🫡
