I got same case as yours but swapping out the SATA expansion board with NVME one for better performance. I've been using for over a month now. Love it. This would be my goto NAS storage for the home. Desktop, tablet, Samsung phone, iphones can join in for fun. Thanks for the video.
Cool case! Things really have improved since I installed my RPi 2b. I should look into upgrading.

As for nas software i would highly discourage the use of SMB file sharing (Despite it being more common to use on windows/ios/ect) as it greatly reduces performance and security
The better alternative is NFS file sharing which i'm sure openmediavault supports
I've been running a Raspberry Pi 4 in an Argon one case with a 500GB M.2 drive and OMV for about two years now, totally stable, never had to do anything with it apart from the occasional update. I run syncthing and Keepass on other computers and syncthing instantly backs up to the NAS any alterartions I make to my Keepass database.

For my money, a NAS must have 3.5" HDD.
Just bought a 18TB for £300.
After Pi 5 has arrived to market this case is actually should consider as a obsolete and should be discontinued. And move focus to remodeling it for Pi 5 era.
the fact he banned the desktop install after omv4 is a pain... but mounting all your remote shares in omv over 2.5Gb/s usb3 Ethernet with 'remote mount' works well especially here with a single local drive installed -remember all the key boot dirs are remapped to ram in omv now so ssd is overkill-
Pi 4 has issues to drive many usb storage devices, also not enough power from its USB port(s). Actually saying "NAS" while meaning: "1 drive" connected is kind of overkill ;-)
thats why you use a powered usb3 hub to fix that HD power drain
And works?. I tried multiple usb sata interface, with high data transfer the sd lost conection. Only resolve unplug and plug again.
You notice huge difference between using in M2 istead of MicroSD? I mean, in terms of read/write?
I have this question in mind, because basically are you using usb 3.1.

Did someone try to connect more than 3 storage bigger than 3TB via OMV? I tried this but i see only three disks in my network. Do someone have another experiences?

Went through similar setup and thought I got everything but cant seem to get ssd to boot without orig sd card. Any thoughts.

I would go as far as 2147 Ov=8. I often use this without a fan
can NVME Pci-e or NVME SSD SATA be installed in this case ? E.g. is it possible to install NVME Samsung 980 and is it recognised and does it work?
No nvme is not supported. Given that we have to use usb 3 on a Pi 4 there is not much difference
Stainless screws cannot be magnetic by there nature

Parts links (US) for this video are pretty bad. USB A-to-C: out of stock. Kingdian SSD (big WTF on this brand). Suggest checking Team Group brand microSD, USB flash or 2.5 SSD on Newegg first.
BTW those no-name brands sell recycled crap, looks like good 240GB SSDs go for ~$17 US right now.

Yes funny, it installed V5 with the same command. But its possible to update with omv-release-upgrade. Now my 64bit test has same version.
