I took 1/2 inch pine board and shaped a profile resembling a cow's udder. With the 'teats' on the bottom of the shape and a level surface on the top, I installed it with a couple of dowels under the stool seat. I call it a : MILKING STOOL.
Another fantastic video! I too really like the locking dowels for the legs. I want to try the tapers you show to see how mine come out. One of the beauties of woodworking is the variations that are available to us. I really appreciate your expertise and great instruction. Please keep up your great work!
Brilliant stool buddy! Three legged stools are perfect because they never wobble! I love the dowels as a design aesthetic...and they help secure the legs better as well. The stools I make for my Etsy store have tenon wedges that perform a similar function. I finished THREE stools TODAY actually and they will mail out tomorrow. I ALSO just ordered some Hinoki Cypress from Japan as a customer wants one of my stools made in Hinoki...very expensive but that's what she wants so that's what I'm making. I liked your technique for cutting the mortises by sticking the circle to the backer board...it occurred to me that if the backer board was a perfect triangle, it could serve the same purpose without having to be reset...just a thought. Anyway...have a great New Year friend...see you on the other side!
Excelente proyecto muy bien desarrollado y mejor ejecutado , un taburete muy original , gracias por compartir tanta creatividad , un saludo cordial y por supuesto un gran like desde Narón , Galicia (España) 🤓 😜
I like this design, and think it would also work for a nice side table. I am planning on doing wood/epoxy builds and wonder though if instead of wood dowels that one could use epoxy as that gap filler instead and still have it function the same.
I admire the Japanese woodworking in turning out nice pieces from soft woods. Unlike here in the "west", where you only find horrible joinery on soft woods, slapped with an ugly stain, and sold for premium.
Any angle that isnt 180 90 60 45 or 30 makes a project extremely hard for me still. And you did it out of pine too which I struggle with since it warps so easily. Oh well just try and get a little bit better each time. Yours was very nice
No it is not I tried making a circular stool before and it was one of the most difficult projects I did in a very long time this one turned out great nice work
Another great job and video. I bet you get tired of hearing that from everyone, but it's true. You are that good. Can I ask the final angle of the legs? It looks like you nailed it - the correct leg angles that is. Thank you. Have a Happy New year!

I like the project, but there are some cuts on the table saw and some moves with the router that are pretty dangerous. Please work safely. We will not get to see any of your videos if you hurt yourself badly. Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭

The angle is 96 degrees between legs and top. I didn't nail. Happy new year.

What glue is being used?
It's one of cheap woodworking glue here in Korea. A little thick glue.
Thanks for watching sir.
